Surrounded by nothing but turquoise lagoon which melts into sapphire blue, the Maldives luxury resort island of Anantara Kihavah and its pure white sands rise up out of the ocean like a mirage. For centuries, this was where Arab traders sailing to the Far East took shelter; a lush paradise blessed by coconut, papaya and mango trees. Navigating archipelago to archipelago by the stars, the seafarers were also drawn by the riches of the ocean surrounding the island – where a prehistoric volcano sank back into the depths, leaving blooming corals within a house reef and a wealth of lagoon fish. Wishing to keep the pristine nature of the island intact, not one tree has been moved – as evidenced by the villas growing up around them. The design pays homage to the seafarers of old, fusing Indian Ocean, Arab and Portuguese motifs with indigenous materials. Located on the Baa Atoll in a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas invites you to imagine your own barefoot luxury paradise. Savour the luxury of space in your private pool beach villa or over water villa. Snorkel with mantas and Hawksbill sea turtles. Stargaze into the night. Dine on a deserted sandbank or beneath the ocean’s surface at this enchanting sanctuary

We had such an incredible time at Anantara Kihavah. The staff there are absolutely wonderful and looked after us from start to finish, with lots of thoughtful touches along the way and everybody knowing you by name! There are far too many to mention, but our villa host Shameen gets a special shout out - nothing was too much trouble for him, and he made the experience extra special! The beach villa was perfect for us with a young daughter, having direct access to a pretty much private beach. All the restaurants were superb, with Sea being a unique experience that has to be tried if there. The reef snorkelling, manta excursion, kickboxing, star gazing and kids club were all fantastic. Would 100% recommend the investment and we hope to return!

The place is defenetly amazing: both the nature and the sea and also the resort. You can swim near the reef and have all the comforts you need. The hotel staff Is very kind and professional, and always ready to satisfy every wish. The only real flaw are the prices: every single thing has a cost that looks really eccessive: meal, drinks, excursions... And then you have to add also the cost taxes and service to everything (around +30%). So, if you want to enjoy your holiday, be ready to spend a loooot of money (really too much, in my opinion, I don't think those prices can be justified).

I had an absolutely unforgettable experience at Anantara Kihavah. I genuinely cried when it was time to leave. Azmeen, our personal concierge, was attentive, thoughtful, and always ready to help, making our stay feel truly luxurious and seamless. Nothing compares to this visit in the Maldives, and I’ve traveled to many incredible places around the world. The reefs around the resort are pristine and teeming with life. We went on a turtle excursion, and the reef at Anantara Kihavah easily outshone neighboring islands. In fact, we spotted more sea turtles accidentally while enjoying activities at the resort, from the underwater restaurant to night snorkelling, than we did elsewhere. We spent nearly every day in the water, snorkeling and exploring the vibrant marine life. We were amazed by the variety of sea creatures we saw: cuttlefish, squid, eagle rays, lionfish, blacktip reef sharks, stingrays, parrotfish, angel fish, butterflyfish, unicorn fish, triggerfish, and even a very rare brown marbled grouper! It was huge, but peacefully chilling on the reef. One of the highlights was a resort-organized excursion to see manta rays, and by luck, we also encountered three whale sharks, what an experience I will never forget. The resort is also deeply committed to marine conservation, with a coral reef breeding program aimed at preserving marine life. We saw the coral boxes and the areas where new reefs are cultivated, which was fascinating. The resort provided reef-protective sunscreen. I love these thoughtful little touches for guests! Dining at the resort was exceptional, with outstanding cuisine and impeccable service. I highly recommend both the underwater Sea Restaurant and the Fire Restaurant. One of the highlights was experiencing the Michelin Star Caviar Indulgence under the ocean’s waves at the underwater restaurant and the Michelin Star Guest Chef Series with Chef Ricki Weston. We enjoyed an exquisite menu including canapés, lamb tartar caviar trifle, and red snapper croustade with the wine pairing. I particularly loved the Lobster Thermidor at Manzaru, it was unforgettable. Between the incredible food, stunning wildlife, and exceptional hospitality, this resort truly has it all. I would return in a heartbeat. Thank you for such an amazing stay!

Such an amazing resort. Our Villa host Tina was exceptionally attentive and kind. The entire staff was so incredibly nice and professional. The food was top notch at every restaurant. The villa was spectacular. And the water was the bluest blue I’ve ever seen in my life. I could not recommend this resort more!
