Surrounded by nothing but turquoise lagoon which melts into sapphire blue, the Maldives luxury resort island of Anantara Kihavah and its pure white sands rise up out of the ocean like a mirage. For centuries, this was where Arab traders sailing to the Far East took shelter; a lush paradise blessed by coconut, papaya and mango trees. Navigating archipelago to archipelago by the stars, the seafarers were also drawn by the riches of the ocean surrounding the island – where a prehistoric volcano sank back into the depths, leaving blooming corals within a house reef and a wealth of lagoon fish. Wishing to keep the pristine nature of the island intact, not one tree has been moved – as evidenced by the villas growing up around them. The design pays homage to the seafarers of old, fusing Indian Ocean, Arab and Portuguese motifs with indigenous materials. Located on the Baa Atoll in a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas invites you to imagine your own barefoot luxury paradise. Savour the luxury of space in your private pool beach villa or over water villa. Snorkel with mantas and Hawksbill sea turtles. Stargaze into the night. Dine on a deserted sandbank or beneath the ocean’s surface at this enchanting sanctuary

I highly recommend this resort, top notch service. From the instant you book your reservation, the resort emails you and answers any questions you have to make your stay enjoyable. When you land, there is someone waiting at the gate to walk you to the lounge while you wait for the seaplane. they escort you to the seaplane and instruct you when to get off and guide you to the boat to the island where the resort is located. You have a butler you can text on Whatsapp at any time. Zaheen was amazing. He drove us around, made reservations for us, and customized a dinner on the beach for us. They also escorted us back on the boat off the island, onto the seaplane, and someone escorted us to the departure gate. The food was delicious, and the SEA restaurant was an amazing window into what us scuba divers see everytime we dive. My girlfriend saw three sharks, a turtle, and multiple fish. The water was perfect (warm, clear, and clean, I did not feel like I needed to shower when I got out of the sea). There is 24 hour room service, and the rooms were clean and spacious. The views from the over-the-water bungalows were amazing! It never felt crowded. I highly recommend staying here.

We had a wonderful, memorable family holiday. The house reef is excellent with an amazing variety and diversity in fauna and flora. The hotel installations are top and the personell is friendly and highly professional. They are always on the look out how to be of service. Culinary delights are also very diverse and of good quality. Highly recommendable.

We loved this place and had travelled 4 times to other islands such as Waldorf Astoria and Vakaru, this was good value in accommodation as we decided to stay on water for the 1st time.. it was unbelievable as Antantara has one of he best reefs, so we saw Turtles and huge sting rays most days coming past our villa, it was incredible ... Its not the biggest island so 7 days was enough due to the amount of restaurants on the island and two of those had to be paid for even with full board. Sea is amzing although really pricey for the food delivered we paid $1300 for myself, wife and 2 children although $230 was a bottle of wine , but still pricey. Spice restaurant had a brilliant all asian menu, we actually eat there 4 times. Japanese was pretty standard for Japanese restaurant food was decent. The staff was amazing super polite and hard working... great sports facility with a Mai Tai trainer and ring. We did feel the experiences like massage , scuba diving , sea bob excessively expensive. $650 fo 1 hr lesson for my wife and son scuba diving is too much!!
