About the Hotel

Surrounded by nothing but turquoise lagoon which melts into sapphire blue, the Maldives luxury resort island of Anantara Kihavah and its pure white sands rise up out of the ocean like a mirage. For centuries, this was where Arab traders sailing to the Far East took shelter; a lush paradise blessed by coconut, papaya and mango trees. Navigating archipelago to archipelago by the stars, the seafarers were also drawn by the riches of the ocean surrounding the island – where a prehistoric volcano sank back into the depths, leaving blooming corals within a house reef and a wealth of lagoon fish. Wishing to keep the pristine nature of the island intact, not one tree has been moved – as evidenced by the villas growing up around them. The design pays homage to the seafarers of old, fusing Indian Ocean, Arab and Portuguese motifs with indigenous materials. Located on the Baa Atoll in a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas invites you to imagine your own barefoot luxury paradise. Savour the luxury of space in your private pool beach villa or over water villa. Snorkel with mantas and Hawksbill sea turtles. Stargaze into the night. Dine on a deserted sandbank or beneath the ocean’s surface at this enchanting sanctuary

Reviews for Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas

beautiful resort but require more effort

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

overall hotel is natural and beautiful, some facility esp undersea restaurant and telescope are rare to find from other resorts. the beach and house reef are particularly beautiful. however the overall service standard and dining quality require more effort, if the hotel thinks they are one of the best in maldives. service is basic, not really down to detail, it is more responsive rather proactive, and guest service at room is basic, nothing impressed. food quality require big improve, not many live cooking station in breakfast, and overall taste is bland that i couldn’t remember which dish was great. given the price they charge, they really could do better.

Wonderfully welcoming and relaxing experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

This was our first visit to The Maldives and we will definitely be returning. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left our villa host Ifoo looked after us. He made the arrangements for everything we did from restaurant bookings to excursions etc in a cheerful, kind, caring and very efficient manner. Every member of staff showed us great care. Jenny in Plates and Sheila from the gym in particular. We loved the space and privacy of our beach front villa. The marine life in the house reef is very impressive. The underwater sea restaurant was a special experience. Disappointingly we didn’t get to experience the observatory. Having saved this to the end the sky was too hazy so it was cancelled. Next time we will book this earlier in our stay! We were on half board and as others have mentioned, we found any of the ‘extras’ expensive. We had a wonderfully relaxing stay on this beautiful, small island and look forward to returning. Thank you to Sasha and all her staff for helping to make our stay so memorable.

Exceptional Stay at Anantara Kihavah Maldives

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

Exceptional Stay at Anantara Kihavah Maldives We spent eight unforgettable days at Anantara Kihavah, hoping to disconnect and recharge. This was our second trip to the Maldives, and although the comparison with our previous resort was inevitable, Kihavah quickly exceeded our expectations. The first days were affected by heavy rain, but once the sun returned, the island revealed its full beauty. Our overwater villa was spacious and opened directly onto a turquoise lagoon where rays, turtles, sharks and countless fish passed by daily. Dining was outstanding, with diverse menus, themed evenings, and the magical SEA underwater restaurant—a truly unique experience. Excursions in crystal-clear waters allowed us to see an incredible variety of marine life: mantas, turtles, rays, sharks, moray eels and vibrant corals. The island’s lush vegetation, combined with the kindness and discretion of the staff, created a feeling of total escape. Despite the size of the resort, we often felt wonderfully alone, like luxurious Robinson Crusoes. In summary: a high-end stay that is absolutely worth it — unforgettable, unique and highly recommended.
