About the Hotel
Surrounded by nothing but turquoise lagoon which melts into sapphire blue, the Maldives luxury resort island of Anantara Kihavah and its pure white sands rise up out of the ocean like a mirage. For centuries, this was where Arab traders sailing to the Far East took shelter; a lush paradise blessed by coconut, papaya and mango trees. Navigating archipelago to archipelago by the stars, the seafarers were also drawn by the riches of the ocean surrounding the island – where a prehistoric volcano sank back into the depths, leaving blooming corals within a house reef and a wealth of lagoon fish. Wishing to keep the pristine nature of the island intact, not one tree has been moved – as evidenced by the villas growing up around them. The design pays homage to the seafarers of old, fusing Indian Ocean, Arab and Portuguese motifs with indigenous materials. Wonderful experience
Perfect family holiday, we loved everything about the villa and resort. Service was exceptional and the pool in the villa was big enough to spend all day in. Snorkeling was stunning too on the house reef.

Wonderful, relaxing holiday experience
We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary during our holiday in the Maldives and we couldn’t have had a better experience with Anantara Kihavah. The service, food, hospitality and activities were all first class. In particular, the various teams across the island are so attentive to detail that they made this such a special holiday. Shout out to Azmeen, Reji, Saad, Vishnu and Amel, but really everyone we interacted with were excellent. It has one of the best house reefs in the Maldives and so snorkelling is an excellent experience. The diving team is also helpful and experienced, especially Ahmed and Ari. We have been lucky enough to go on holiday to the Maldives about 12 times and we’ve always picked different islands each time. We’ll definitely be returning to Anantara Kihavah!

Amazing place to visit
Anantara Kihavah Resort, Maldives is amazing place. Beautiful beaches, over the water villas, excellent restaurants, great staff… Under the watter restaurant is truly once in a lifetime experience. Our host for the whole stay was Piyal Asanka. He was absolutely amazing. Always on time, any time, helpful with anything we needed, so polite. Piyal really made us feel like we’re his family. Perfect place to unwind in luxury.
Lovely resort, fantastic food and wonderful service all round. We were looked after very well by Piyal - who was warm and attentive- nothing was ever a bother for him. Very proactive without being intrusive.

We had a wonderful stay at Anantara Kihavah. The natural beauty of the island, the stunning house reef, exceptional dining and attention to detail all made this a very special experience. A particular thank you to our villa host, Naomi, who was absolutely outstanding. She was attentive without ever being intrusive, incredibly responsive, and always one step ahead of us. Even the smallest details were taken care of with genuine thoughtfulness. It is people like Naomi who make a luxury resort truly exceptional. Her warm and personal service made us feel genuinely cared for throughout our stay. We left with wonderful memories and would happily return to Kihavah in the future.
