Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas in Baa Atoll, Maldives

The journey is as exhilarating as the destination at Anantara Kihavah Villas, located on the Maldives's Baa Atoll among reefs that are part of the UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve. Accessible by seaplane from Malé, the diving here is extraordinary. Epicures who would rather stay on dry land can glimpse passing fish, rays and eels in a shimmering, rainbow-colored dinner show – an international gourmet menu is paired with an award-winning wine list that spans nine decades in one of the world's only underwater restaurants.

As the morning sun creeps over the horizon, slip into the warm ocean water just a few strides from the Egyptian cotton sheets of your king-sized bed. Suit up for deeper exploration at the Dive Centre and Marine Lab – experts can design a custom experience (fancy a shipwreck?) and newbies can get certified through a PADI course. Let the powdery sand course over your toes back onshore and ascend to the rooftop lounge for a shisha a lychee iced tea made with Indian Ocean white rum.

I have been visiting Maldives many time and this time we stayed at anantara kihavah resort in over water villa. Arrival and the transfere to resort: We arrived at the airport at 4:15 pm and we meet the hotel representative who greeting and took us to do check-in for domestic flight after that we have informed by the hotel representative that our flight is ready for boarding and they moved us to the gate. At the gate they informed that our flight will be delay for 3 hr but the problem no one came to us and take us back to the lounge and we stayed and the gate for 3 hr which was very bad especially when you just arrived from long journey and if you have kids. At 7:00pm boarding started but at 7:30pm when we become ready for departure we received another bad news for another delay for 2 hr due to technical problem and they ask all passengers to leave the flight. At this time hotel representative wake up and finally meet us and took us to the lounge. Finally we arrived at anantara kihavah resort at 10:30 pm. Villa: We stayed at over water villa Excellent design and well maintained Excellent house keeping services Food: There is four restaurant in the island ( Italian, Asian, Japanese, and underwater restaurant) Our package includes HB but they restrict your dinner in 2 restaurant only( Italian and Asian ) and if you want to take your dinner from other restaurant then they will give you until 50 dollar and you need to pay any amount more than 50 dollar. This was very strange for me because I visited many famous resorts in Maldives and usually they open all restaurant for guest with HB and if they restrict some restaurant then they will give 100 to 120 dollar per person. The food Quality: good Island: Beautiful and for me one of best in Maldives

Most beautiful place i've ever been. Everything was more than perfect. Delicious foods, unbelievable view and breathtaking water world. The staff was super professional, friendly and helpful. Our villa host, Shan did a very great job. We loved everything in this small piece of heaven. For sure we will visit this place again.

We stayed for 6 nights from January till February 2018 as a family of three, during our first trip to Maldives. From the moment of arrival at the airport till reaching the island and getting a warm welcome from Mr. Dilan the general manager and his team, we were always guided with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. The villa assigned to us was wonderful and only made more stunning by the service extended by miss Yuni from the butlers team. Our 4.5 year old daughter had an excellent time everyday during the morning half at the kids club where the team of Amal, Thoy, Alaana and the French young man ( sorry missed his name) had kept her active and busy : cooking class, dolphin seeing trip, underwater restaurant visit, treasure hunt and many other games. This kids club made it to our 1st place of all what we had seen of such products at other resorts. The amenities provided as a part of the stay attend to both, resting and activities aspects and always supported by the friendliness of the staff; as from Shamim ( the stars Guru) to Sama ( at the restaurants - breakfast and Salt) to Nasir and Latifa from the breakfast kitchen staff, we never felt as guests, rather as old friends of the team who worked there. Kudos to your dedication and talents that made our dream vacation a reality; raising our expectations to a new level that will be hard to match on the coming holiday travels. A big Thank you to each mentioned and not mentioned persons who assisted our family break, from arrival till the immigration gates at departure.

Our family of 4 spent 8 nights including New Year in the beautiful island of Kihavah. We are seasoned travellers with high standards and travelled all over the world to beautiful places. I have to be honest: Kihavah is the most luxurious, relaxing, spoiling, beautiful resort we ever went to. This was our third trip to the Maldives. Only downside: This place is made for millionnaires (which we are not). I'll focus on some points in particular: - Seaplane transfers were very well planned. We had short waiting times in Males on arrival as well as departure - Our villa host Liusha was the best ever - Although the resort was fully booked, it never bothered us. Still a very relaxing and calm atmosphere - Diving club offers highly personalized services. Thank you to the entire crew, with special mention of Raoul who accompanied me on all my dives. - The breakfast is simply wonderful. The service level is really high, making each breakfast a great way to start the day - The natural beauty of Maldives is breathtaking, even on our 3rd trip it remains the most beautiful holiday destination I can think of - New Year's evening party was very well catered and offer plenty of entertainment. Special mention for Ronan Keiting who performed a few songs as surprise guest. Yes, Kihavah is extremely expensive. But you go home with wonderful holiday memories that will stay with us for many years to come. Thanks Dylan & crew for a wonderful holiday !

This review came a couple of years late but I would just write what I can recall. The trip began with a Singapore Airlines flight to Maldives where upon reaching Male, my wife and myself did not even had the opportunity to go through customs due to the CIP arrangements before shuttling us to the seaplane to Kihavah. The first meal in Kihavah was in room dining which surprisingly wasn’t as exorbitant how they would charge for bottled water. Room was huge and bathroom too, with a bathtub and outdoor shower. The following day was a fishing trip arranged with outside operators and we got some nice fish for a meal. Dinner was taken in the underwater restaurant with wine pairing. Good experience. After snorkeling in the third morning, We had a good massage looking through the bottom of the ocean while our tired bodies got kneaded by experienced hands. Rested a while, had seafood buffet dinner and we proceed to having our own private theatre with snacks and drinks provided. The fourth morning, we were treated to a private yacht which was as luxurious as the 5-star resort. We were being sailed around to watch dolphins and snorkel along the way. Lunch was a Japanese meal set out on a private island where there’s only the two of us. After lunch was a cruise around the area before sending us back to the resort. The final day to make our way back home was seamlessly arranged by the resort. A good experience overall, we would not mind going back to relive it all over again.
