What a paradise! Eco-friendly yet super luxurious. It is one of a kind of luxury. It is something super unique and fulfilling. And the foods here are very good. Wide range of selection and most importantly very tasty! Great wine list. Highly recommended

From the moment I arrived I was pampered by the beautiful sight of the island, the sea and the smile of resort management that greeted me. The food were always above average in terms of quality, taste and quantity....the slow LIFE concept is what I needed being around busy city like Jakarta everyday....I come back relaxed, refreshed and with a good tan.. felt pampered body, mind and soul

We booked a week-long holiday to cover the kids (ages 5 and 7) half-term. It was our fifth holiday to the Maldives, but our first to Soneva Fushi. As others have relayed, from the moment you land, you're looked after - until you're back In Male Airport for your return! The Island covers every component for a perfect holiday in The Maldives. Granted - other resorts can be fabulous, but there are always areas which could have been better.. But not with Soneva Fushi. From an outstanding house reef, Kids club (The Den), living space (the villas are incredible) to the delicious food and your very own Butler...it just keeps delivering! This experience does come at a price - but its worth it; we wont be going anywhere else from here on.

positiv: very lovley pathways on a "rainforest looking" island the fallowing feedbacks are not reflexting an expensive 5* hotel: - to reach your villa, every guest gets a bike. all the bikes are old and scruffy. the braks are bad and even i changed the bike 3 times i never got a decent bike. - the roomkeeping is lousy and without any lovely details - the island has 3 restaurants. the one in the trees (very nice) is mostly overbooked and you can hardly get one of the few tables. an other one is located directly by the port of the delivery boots. we eat our $550 (2pax) dinner directly next to the staff who refueled their oily delivery boots. there is one more restaurant on the other side of the island. but the floodlight of the factory located on the very near local island is spoiling your seaview. - the staff is "trained" nice with you. it`s just not "in the blood" of the muslim staff to really enjoy to serve the westerns guests. you will not find the "asian" smily out of the heart. - if you book this hotel you know that the prices are high... but still, if you take your $16 (including different taxes) beer out of the minibar, its hard to enjoy your drink :-( overall i can say, that the hotel is misusing their "eco concept" to legitimate the very basic service and slight moldy infrastructur. we also missed the small WOWs. no little bite pillow, no swan shaped linen, no personal good-bye from the managemend, no flowers on the table.... all very basic 3* service.

Soneva fushi is a beautiful natural island. It’s the largest, most forested (and most expensive) island we’ve stayed in the Maldives (previously staying on mirihi, lily beach and reethi). Due to the size of the island your mr/ms Friday will pick you up when you need it and you also get bikes (although mine was taken from breakfast one day!!!). The food was lovely. The choices at Breakfast were impressive. We loved the tea menu that our amazing waiter kindly helped us work through. The juices were a real highlight too. And don’t forget the cheese room! For lunch we typically had snacks at the overwater bar as another huge buffet seemed too much (and you need to leave room for the complimentary chocolate and ice cream rooms!). The evening meals were a real highlight. Although booking them was sometimes tricky. We especially enjoyed the evenings at down to earth and by the beach where our ms Friday (shafa) put in so much effort decorating our table. I’ve never seen anything so beautiful. Unfortunately on the evening she did this at by the beach the rain started before dinner so we had to be rushed indoors away from her creation. But amazingly she set up another surprise table the next night that was even better (completely alone on the beach with hundreds of flowers and candles)! As were weren’t celebrating a special occasion we were so surprised by this effort. Truly magical. We also left with some great curry recipes. I’d also really recommend the managers cocktail evening. The island they take you to is stunning and the dinner afterwards set up like street food was great fun. We stayed in a villa facing the inhabited island and the views were not the best but they bothered me more than my other half, so I think this is just a personal point about whether you want ‘cast away’ views or not (I’ve put a photo on of the view from our pool so you can decide for yourself!). The villas were stunning, especially the bathrooms. We did get more insects on this island but a surprisingly low amount of mossies which was a pleasant surprise. The private pool was huge. And in the evening turn down candles were often lit around it which looked stunning. The snorkelling/diving was mixed. We had pea soup visibility which ruined a few dives and snorkelling (it was like the uk rather than the Indian Ocean!) and we weren’t that impressed by the dive school instructor we had on our second boat trip (but they were all friendly and it was small groups). In contrast the snorkelling trip to hanifaru bay may have been one of the best moments of my life. The incredible amount of plankton making the visibility terrible made the mantas come out in droves. Even the staff were amazed by the numbers of mantas (they guessed at over a hundred). The guide was so passionate about mantas and kept moving us away from other groups to find us our own pods of feeding mantas. She was exceptional. The other advantage of soneva is the speed of the boats and their location so it only took 10 mins to get to the bay (When I’ve visited the bay before it’s taken ages on slow boats). So you still get all of your day to dive or relax! I also had too treatments in the spa which I would recommend. We’d definitely visit again, or maybe to Jani next time! NB: stayed in sept 2016... better late than never!
