Terrible experience, especially with the attendants

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Horrible service, like I've never experienced before! we made a reservation for 4 people, however the hotel allowed the reservation (for 4 registered adults) to be for a room with just one king bed. to make matters worse, attendants who are extremely poorly trained to deal with this type of situation, being rude, disrespectful, impatient and ironic! Supervisor Richard Ras appeared extremely rude, stating that this was our problem, as we saw a family with the same problem being served directly by him! result? we paid the additional amount that the hotel forced us to pay!

Wonderful hotel on a wonderful beach

Everything is wonderful. Excellent service and beautiful location. The staff is very accommodating and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The rooftop deck and bar are very pleasant and with stunning views of the ocean. Plan on returning.

Horrendous

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

Horrendous 948884421 While a first blush the hotel, upon entry, is pleasing to the eye, the (dis)service we endured from the desk staff (Judith needs a class or two in customer relations let alone a personality) is well below what one would expect from a hotel on this strip. After we endured the curt, detached and glib interactions we had at the desk (another lame employee was a trainee left alone at the desk who was drowning in incompetence), we then got to the room. The couch was stained, and grimy. The room cleaning varied day to day. One day, the room was cleaned throughly and the next, it was left unattended. The towels weren’t changed daily and were often shredded from overuse. They seemed to be castoffs from the local YMCA. I’m tempted to marvel at the greed of charging $10.00 per a cup of coffee in the lobby but that was surpassed by the lack of drinking water provided on premises and in the room. At the front desk, if you were lucky, you received a four oz. bottle of water, but most often, there were allegedly no waters available. The place charges a fortune for meals. While the food on premises is decent, a $36.00 greek salad for lunch was paltry. The $36.00 Asian salad was soaked in sweetened dressing and was weighted more by liquid than greens-it was nearly all noodles. This place charges nearly as much as the St. Regis but cannot hold a candle to that hotel, steps away. My recommendation is stay away. You will sacrifice nothing by avoiding Judith and her band of nasty hospitality workers.

Exceptional Experience

Lovely stay. Everything was excellent and sweet Etty made my beachside breakfast dining experience exceptional. An absolute gem. I hope to be back soon!

We regret choosing this hotel.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

The Grand Beach hotel staff have zero customer service training. It’s like they read from a script and don’t connect with the guests at all. Unfriendly and condescending is how I would describe our interaction with most of the staff. The hotel was not full and they were still unable to check us in until 4pm on our arrival day. We travelled with our adult children and had three rooms during our stay. One was dark, one had a very bad vinegar like odor(probably to camouflage mold) and all had many issues…dirty, stained furniture(seriously we could not sit on the couch), floors in disrepair, sinks do not drain, mini bar broken, not enough storage space, shower water takes forever to get hot, room was not thoroughly cleaned upon arrival or any day of our stay, towels are worn and ripped, pillows were too big, tv/internet had terrible service. Expensive rates, mediocre food and $10 coffee. Will NOT recommend or return to this place. One mention I must add is for Richard R. Thank you for doing your best to make us as comfortable as possible. You are very kind and competent and we appreciate all of your assistance during our stay.
