I have to say that I am extremely disappointed in the Gran Beach Hotel. My family and I booked a reservation for Sunday October 8- Monday October 16. I reached out to a manager regarding the their price match guarantee/upgrade and only then was I told that they cancelled my reservation since I booked through a 3rd part website. When I called in to the hotel, they had no idea what I was referring too and told me a manager was not available. We are expected to arrive in Miami in one week. Our tickets are booked and the rest of our vacation was planned. Only now am I being told that they cant accommodate me. I would not recommend anyone booking this hotel - at any given time, with out notice, they can cancel your reservation.

Lovely hotel in a great location with everything you need. Literally on the beach. We called reception for a couple of reasons and never got what we requested so feel they lack in the little things but apart from that it is a fab hotel and would recommended. Staff are all friendly and helpful

The hotel is very nice, the rooftop over 21's pool & jacuzzi is nice to sot and relax at. The rooftop bar is very nice and Kal the barman is very good. The breakfast was good. The room was very nice and spacious. I have never stayed in a room with 2 bathrooms and 2 showers before! The only bad parts was the bar in the lobby. The staff were slow and unfriendly. One waiter pored the wrong type gin, we seem hi pour from the wrong bottle and he straight up lied to our face. There was also cockroaches running around the rooftop bar and crows on the tables outside. Not what you want when you're eating. The parking was expensive at $40 per night There is also a sneaky resort fee of $26 per night not mentioned until check out

We booked this hotel as we once stayed at its bigger sister approx 3-4 miles to the south. Whilst that was a perfect experience, the Surfside location cannot rival that. Check-in was cumbersome as the lady at check-in kept saying we used a MasterCard to book while I do not have a MC but only have an AMEX. Because of this and a pre-payment being made on that alleged MC we could not check-in. Only after showing an email with the AMEX as the card used we could check-in. Rooms are very nice. Modern and well equipped. Airco is in a closet and is pretty noisy since the closetdoor did not close properly (look as if it had been tampered with). Lobby-bar is boring. Too much light and the bar can only sit a dozen. Not really the place to relax with a drink. Pool and beach are very good although the 2 pools are a bit small. Atmosphere at the pooldeck and beach is good. Final note: charging 41 usd for parking is outrageous, especially since rates are not mentioned in booking.

We had a fabulous stay at this hotel. Our beach front room was really well equipped. We stayed as a family of 4 with one double bed and a sofa bed. The beds were really comfortable and the decor immaculate. There was plenty of room for all of us and having 2 bathrooms was great. Both showers were fantastic. Fresh towels and toiletries every day and daily housekeeping. We ate in the restaurant for lunch and breakfast a couple of times, breakfast was expensive but the food of high quality, variety and plentiful so reasonable value overall. Had a lovely evening meal. There is a roof top 'skybar' which has a great feel and attentive bar man called Kel. The rooftop pool is for adults only, so we didn't get to try this, but the ground floor pools were adequate for children and families. Overall we had an amazing stay. The location is great. Surfside is a small community with local shops and a handful of restaurants nearby. Ideal location for exploring Miami, without being too close. The only downside to this hotel were the extra costs. There is only valet parking available at a hefty price of $42 per night, plus tax, plus tips. There is no alternative nearby. In fairness, this is made clear on the hotel website but this did bump up our spend overall. All the staff were friendly and helpful and responded immediately to any concerns that we had (the fuse went on our lights on night and they sent an electrician up immediately at 11pm). We'd definitely go back for a special occasion.
