Bal Harbour is a hidden gem of Miami if you want the beautiful beach experience without the noisy crowds. I came here with my husband for a long weekend and was so pleased with the service and amenities. As SPG members, we transferrred our points to Marriott Rewards and booked this hotel fully on points, and were then upgraded from standard room to ocean-front suite, which was 1200 feet (kitchen, dining area, living room... could have fit a whoel family) with breath-taking views and chic decor. We were also very pleased with the service and found all staff to be very friendly. Special shoutout to Daniel at the pool who went out of his way to make sure each guest was enjoying every moment at the Ritz. There were also other little perks that made a difference, such as cuban coffee station (with demo) in the lobby in the afternoons, or attendants walking around with small taster size snacks and drinks throughout the day by the pool. The location is right at the top of Bal Harbour so it's about a 10 minute walk to the shops and "town," but it's also quieter and not surrounded by large buildings that block the sun. The only thing that was not Ritz-level was the breakfast. At $35 pp, the buffet brunch was a great rate but most of the items (eggs, french toast, pancakes, etc), while included in the price, had to be ordered and were prepared specifically so it did not have the all-you-can eat vibe which we like. If looking for an A+ breakfast, the St. Regis is a real winner.

The staff at this property is terrific. From the maid up to the front desk and the bell staff and shuttle driver, Pedro. We enjoyed a 1 bedroom suite, which I would highly recommend. Quick two night visit, but very good. Could use another restaurant besides the one they have. You will have to take the free hotel transportation to get to shops and restaurants, all handled very well. I would usually give this 4 stars due to limited services, but the staff puts it over the top.

This was our first visit to the Ritz Carlton Bal Harbour But Have been to many other Ritz Carlton properties. This is a rather interesting property in that it is mainly residential with a 120 bed Hotel operated by Ritz-Carlton. The Bell stuff concierge and stuff are absolutely outstanding. We are gold Marriott members and were given a suite upgrade with adjoining rooms for our kids also promptly got us early check in. They also gave us one of their newly remodeled rooms. I can tell you, this is one of the nicest most spacious and well accommodated hotel room I’ve ever stayed in. The views were absolutely amazing. Wraparound deck‘s. Big soaking tubs right next to spacious window with a view. The beach area is very nice right next to Bakers inlet . There beach stuff were spot on with full service that was included in the $25 per room resort fee. The pool area was very nice. We rented a cabana one day with a TV set to watch NFL playoff football. Truly Something I would recommend splurging on as it does have its own private hot tub. Workout room was very nice and clean. Spa was beautiful though I did not go for treatments. The only downside of this hotel is the restaurant. Not owned and operated by the Ritz Carlton but I was told this will be changing soon. The food was excellent however the service was not up to Ritz standards. We were left hanging both times we ate there and one time walked out because of a 15 to 20 minute wait for service. When the front desk manager found out they quickly “made it right“. Poolside and beside lunch service was prompt and the food was delicious. Keep in mind you’re within a short walk of multiple dining options including many restaurants with the Shops in Bal Harbor or you could take a short walk to the sister property at the St Regis which had multiple restaurants with different cuisines. We did have an excellent espresso machine that was always start with Illy coffee. I really enjoyed being near the inlet and actually took a few casts without much luck of catching anything. Also fun to watch the boats come and go. They also have bikes that are free and part of your resort fee to use on the mini beach trails. In closing I would definitely return but I think if you’re doing a full week family vacation you would want to look into the larger resorts such as key Biscayne , Naples or even South Beach? But who knows, with the upgrades and changes this may be changing soon.

I stayed at the Ritz Carlton Bal Harbour in December with my family and we were impressed by the Tower Suite that we stayed in, staff were very pleasant and helpful, service at the pool was excellent, lunch and breakfast were also excellent.

I have stayed at several Ritz Carlton’s in the past and this one falls quite short of their standard. This property took over a residential development and reconfigured it into a hotel but the layout doesn’t work. The room needs to be upgraded. Some of the staff were great—especially the concierge, the bellstaff and front desk. There was no waitress at the pool getting drinks for guests. The service at the restaurant was inattentive and extremely expensive—$90 for breakfast for 2 and the omelettes were tiny. Housekeeping/turndown service at night was great. $800 per night absurd for what they offer. Find somewhere else for the money.
