Alila Villas Uluwatu in Bali, Indonesia

With a flawless design and a spectacular setting, Alila Villas Uluwatu marries Balinese culture with modern design. Perched atop a magnificent plateau abutting limestone cliffs, the ocean below bellows with the sound of crashing waves and creates a melodic echo with every crest. There are 84 sustainably-designed villas concealing interiors that are contemporary and uncluttered, with overtones of traditional Balinese textures including rattan and stone. The multi-room villas, each with its own pool, radiate with luxury and boast such appointments as private bars, outdoor dining nooks, private cabanas, and stylish baths with both indoor and outdoor showers. There is also 24-hour butler service, which adds an effortless element to your stay.

The setting, along Bali's southern coast on the Bukit Peninsula, seems like a natural locale for this eco-friendly resort. The infinity-edge pool seems to blend with the horizon, while geometric structures jut towards the ocean creating a suspended effect. The Warung, the resort's signature restaurant, serves a menu of traditional Indonesian specialties in a casual poolside setting, while CIRE has a modern backdrop and a bold design. Sunset Cabana, the clifftop bar, offers gourmet dining and amazing views. But it is the enchanting spa that earns the most acclaim from guests. Its design, so soothing yet so cutting-edge, is striking. The experience takes you on a personal journey stimulating and balancing both body and mind. For some added inspiration, take a drive to nearby Jimbaran Bay and pay a visit to the Uluwatu Temple - just one of many Bali's many sacred spots. Surrender yourself to beauty and serenity in the luxury of flawless perfection at Alila Villas Uluwatu.

We recently spent 5 nights at Alila and had an amazing time. The location is great to chill out and enjoy a relaxing holiday. The staff at Alila were all locals and very professional and friendly. The main hotel pool, restaurants and cabanas were all fantastic but it was hard to leave the beautiful hillside villa for too long!

Marriage 20 year memorial Bali trip, with the best service I am moved by the location.Although I stayed for 2 days, I do not want to take a step from the hotel, and I have a gym, a library, a restaurant and I was able to fully enjoy it. My wife was satisfied with yoga. I will be back soon. Next time I would like to stay around 4 days. Thank you very much.

Alila Uluwatu is a treat location. It is a quiet resort on the edge of the Uluwatu cliffs with a serene, breathtaking view of the ocean. Minimalist modern in design it has many architectural features that make it chic and thoughtful in aesthetics rather stark. Great attention to detail. It is not cheap, so is more suited to those who would like to indulge for a special occasion. The spa products in the villas and scattered around the resort smell devine

Beautiful resort and friendly staff. Every morning looking forward to eating breakfast in Cier, variety of food to choose from and the view was stunning overlooking the Indian Ocean. The villa is nicely decorated with ample space. We even got a birthday cake for my daughter's birthday. Our villa at 301 is easily accessible either by buggy or just a 3-minute walk to the main lobby. We visited the beach in the afternoon (low tide). Although beautiful, carefully consider your energy level as you need to walk down to the beach and then going up (very rough path), which was really tiring. Would certainly recommend this resort to anyone.

We were arranging the trip for our "annual" honeymoon trip and this time we selected to stay at the famously heard Alila at Uluwatu. We booked the one bedroom pool villa. I would say that our experience staying in the premise was beyond our expectation. First and foremost was the location, the architecture of the building and the staggering view from the main pool, facing directly the Indian Ocean. Apparently the view from the main pool with the iconic cabana was the main attraction. And we loved it. Guests could also go down to the private beach where they must go down the cliff on a very steep stairs, around 650 stairs. We did go down and the beach and view were stunning. Its CLEAN and QUIET. However, the climbing up again was a bit of a struggle. Hence, for those who are not used to this kind of physical activities, perhaps don't even consider doing it. The reception at check in was speedy. We were received by the Assistant GM named Janine (?) who was lovely and showed us briefly some of the hotel facilities. We were then assigned with a personal butler, Ms. Mira, to indulge us during our stay. She was very thoughtful and helpful, a perfect butler. She then showed us our room and the room was very nice, clean and spacious with a gazebo and a generous size of private pool. The bed was nice and very comfortable. All guests are entitled for breakfast at the restaurant facing the main pool or else they could opt for in-villa breakfast. Food in general was nice, particularly the western food. Although I must we did order some Indonesian food and we thought that the taste could be improved a bit. We also tried the spa treatment, which we also thought was splendid. Hence, we would recommend for couples out there, if you are looking for a perfect romantic getaway, then this would be the perfect place to do that.
