We have been loyal guests of the Banyan Tree for more than 18 years. Having stayed at Banyan Tree Phuket, Koh Samiu and Bangkok, Banyan Tree Ungasan was a hidden treasure for us to have discovered. Mr Alfonso Romero is certainly one of the best Manager’s we have come across. This hotel is very well taken care of and certainly exceeded all expectations – all staff went beyond their call of duty in terms of service! Our stay at Bayan Tree Ungasan was certainly one of our most memorable stays at the Banyan Tree Hotels. Our driver from the hotel collected us at the airport in a very clean air conditioned vehicle with cold water on hand. The journey took approximately 40 minutes. We received a royal Balinese welcome and blessing ceremony and were presented with a flower, and blessed with rice and sprinkled water. What we loved most about the Banyan Tree was the fact that it was away from all the busy areas and we felt totally relaxed and it epitomises luxury combined with exceptional service. We literally did not leave the resort for a full week! The resort is exceptionally well maintained with manicured gardens including frangipanis. We stayed in a one bedroom Sea View Villa. We had the most opulent room and the sea view was uninterrupted. The villa was spacious and extremely luxurious with a stunning infinity pool and spa. It is extremely private and secluded and the only visitor that you may be disturbed by, would be a monkey jumping from tree to tree! My husband attended the gym daily to work up an appetite for the sumptuous breakfast on offer. We both attended the spa frequently and we both felt it was the best massage we have ever had! The highlight for us was breakfast. The variety on offer, once again, exceeded our expectations. Breakfast was like a fine dining experience that changed on a daily basis. There are numerous restaurants, including Bambu, Tamarind and Jumana. Jumana is an experience that should not be missed! Most evenings we opted for room service and it was spectacular! Thank you to Mr Romero and all the staff that made us feel so welcome. We are hoping to be back with our eight-year-old daughter very soon!

Why We'd Visit Again... Terima Kasih to the the kind folks who took great care of us.....Pak Desu, Pak Cana, Pak Imam, Ibu Sophia (Bambu/in room dining) for the sumptuous meals and exceeding service. Ibu Kadek (pool/kids club), Ibu Palini (spa/gift shop). Faceless friends from guest services (dial "0"). Ibu Cornelia (front desk) once you get her attention. Unsung heroines and heroes from house keeping, gardening and engineering who tend tirelessly to the spacious villas, lush foliage and gardens. Fixable Niggles.... Services at the beach are sorely lacking (a few day beds, a parasol or 2, perhaps bottled water....bring your own towels...). Peak hour check in could be better. A rushed greeting, tagging of baggage, ringing of the gong and a lingering wait on a lobby sofa till we got Ibu Cornelia's attention. Confused green policies...extra towels upon request but drinking water in plastic bottles. Unnecessary and excessive personal data collection for direct bookings. Hard To Fix...... Noise from construction beyond resort grounds, around Melasti Beach makes villa picking vital for a pleasant stay.
