This was our second time staying at the Banyan tree and from the minute we arrived though to time of depart, the sense of calm and privacy never faded. We were looked after extremely well by staff members who cared for their guests. Nothing was to much. The food and service was to a high standard and the villas well appointed. Some great resort views and easy access should you wish to venture beyond to other areas in Bali. A great get away to a wonderful island.

We are family bitten by travel bug that includes our 4.5 LO and this was the best of the best we have stayed so far around the world. Absolute luxury in natural surrounding. To start with most friendly efficient and completely informed staff. A beautiful view from the reception completes the experience. We were given an upgrade to 2bhk villa. As we stepped in we were transported in a luxurious tranquility. The villa is spacious and very beautiful. Rooms are tastefully decorated and efficiently maintained. The staff always ready to help and friendly. Pool by the bedroom completes the experience. Pool is well maintained but the outdoor area needs to be cleaned atleast once in two days and Jacuzzi was a biggest let down with being dirty and not enough water. Also the tiles around the Jacuzzi was broken and leaking. The breakfast is a huge spread with vegetarian options and also an option to order from the menu. Which is the biggest best thing. The restaurant staff is very friendly and helpful. The best experience was the Barbecue at the villa. Being vegetarians we had a few requests and the Chef was happy to oblige which was so much welcoming. But the prices feel expensive. The chef cum waiter for our barbecue was so much welcoming and wonderful. There were indian food items on the main menu which was a surprisingly welcoming and a happy factor for us. The commendable part is the chefs are well trained in indian tastes. As we were travelling with our little one we had a few unsual requests and the hotel staff was happy to oblige. We would like to thank them for being so helpful and understanding especially at the reception Selly and kitchen guy Krisna. The balinese costume either should be complimentery or atleast the price reduced as at its current price its a ripoff. The spa is excellent and the masseuse are well trained. Another thing was the floating duck for pools should be given complimentary. Its rents are too high as the child might play only once as is was in our case.

Probably one of the most luxurious hotel and restaurant in Bali. The restaurant is a paradise. Not for the design, which does not have something special (International modern luxurious design), but for the gourmet refined cuisine, the exceptional service and the evident enthusiasm of the kitchen staff who deliver all its energy to try to reach the perfection. Of course there is a price for that. Not the cheapest one in Bali...

It is an amazing place, it very well addressed our expectations. The staff and every person in the hotel is very attentive to the guests. We were on our honeymoon and we were very happy to choose Banyan Tree Ungasan Bali. Our villa had a sea view as we booked. It was very spacious, nicely decorated. The pool and jacuzzi were awesome. We couldn't imagine anything better. The breakfast was tasty and excellent. House keeping was great, our villa was cleaned up very well regularly. There was drinking water delivery to our villa on a regular basis. The food was very warm when ordered to our villa. Overall, we had a very nice stay and left by knowing that we will miss this place. However, this is a great reason to come back again, maybe for some anniversary. There are couple of issues I want to mention. Initially we were unlucky to have some noisy neighbours listening very loud music. Hotel management did their best to avoid this as soon as possible. Another thing was there was a long pole in front of our view and was showing up in pictures when we take. We talked to the hotel and they were able to offer us some alternative room for our last 2 days. However, we didn't take the hassle to change the room for this. Nevertheless, it is a great sign the hotel gives importance to the hotel guests' requests. All in all, we thank all the staff and hotel management for having such a good time in this hotel. We hope to be back at some time in the future. Cagri & Ezgi

The banyan tree promises for the ultimate luxury experience in a truthful atmosphere that the brand carries to the uttermost. Let's make it clear. The Banyan Tree is a WONDERFUL place. The location is just great on the cliffs overlooking the see from 100m high. The villas are the reason why to spend you money. Very spacious, well equipped and stylish and with a super nice view over the ocean. All the place is also very quiet. But yet the competition in Bali for tier one class resorts is very high, even for 1000 USD per night. Then we regretted the resort size (77 villas...) that prevent the staff from delivering the service you'd expect at that level of price. Everything is very mechanical and you can feel the guests evaluations behind every smile. Waiting for buggies can last up to 15 minutes. We had to call twice in the afternoon to get our villa cleaned. The food experience was also very disappointing at the bambu restaurant. It is correct but very aseptic compared to the taste of the very truthful cuisine in Bali. Thje breakfast however provides with excellent and tasty choices. Not to mention the spa, which provides amongst the best treatments we have had so far in Asia and beyond. The pricing though is occidental and stands almost twice the per hour price than in other big names 5* luxury resorts on the island. The sales management seems to focus on honeymooners and rich families from Japan and China, which makes the ambiance relatively less international than in some other places. Lower chances to meet your pairs there. To our opinion, the Hotel is perfect for a short getaway. This is the way we've enjoyed it. Don't bring to high expectations, and be prepared to pay a lot for it.
