Fairmont Sanur Beach Bali in Bali, Indonesia
In a destination known as "Island of the Gods," a fittingly otherworldly experience awaits, with the brand new Regent Bali resort. The exclusive paradise is located in the Sanur District, on the island's southeastern shore, 30 minutes from the international airport, yet a vast distance away from the ordinary. Standing directly along tempting turquoise waters and sandy beaches, Regent Bali features lavish suites and residences - just under 100 in total - each designed with a modern take on traditional Balinese architecture and décor. Attention to the spectacular natural surroundings is the emphasis of each guest space, where oversize beds, luxuriously spacious bathrooms, and dedicated living areas envelope you in style and comfort. From iPod docks and high definition televisions, to digital butler call buttons, accommodations at Regent Bali are nothing short of cutting edge. Relax on your private terrace, many of which overlook the island of Nusa Lembongan and the Indian Ocean, and allow the tropical air to welcome you to this thoroughly dreamlike place.
Step out and immediately enjoy the resort's lush gardens, as you meander through the grounds surrounded by tropical vegetation, lush greenery, and tranquil water features. A 165-foot infinity lap pool overlooks the ocean, flanked on both sides by sunken seating, and a number of beachfront cabanas eagerly anticipate your arrival. Nyala Beach Club & Grill is the resort's go-to destination for fun-filled days in the sun, providing everything you need to make the most of your pool and beach experiences. The sands and ideal swimming waters of Sanur Golden Beach stretch over 200 yards and supply plenty of entertainment, but you can also head to Regent Bali's indulgent spa for an aromatherapy treatment, or a pampering couples massage. When it comes to dining, the resort offers options ranging from full-service gourmet restaurants, to casual lounge venues to suit your every desire. Layang Layang serves authentic Indonesian fare featuring locally sourced produce and imported meats, while the beach club's kitchen grills up the daily catch as well as a variety of other international dishes. Sip a cool cocktail at Lobby Lounge, savor a glass of fine wine at Library, or simply sit back at a beachfront spot and drink in the scenery. The island is an unforgettable place, and Regent Bali is here to make every moment perfect.

Reviews for Fairmont Sanur Beach Bali
Wow, what a fantastic family holiday at the Fairmont! We stayed as two adults and two children using the eight nights Luxury Escapes package. We were met at the airport by a friendly driver and arrived at the hotel to the warm greetings from all Fairmont staff. Check in was prompt and we were shown to our room by the very friendly Ketut. Oh, the room! We had a garden view room (overlooking the wonderfully-tranquil centre water feature and the lobby area) and it was spacious and more than adequate for four people to fit into for so many nights away from home. The bed was super comfy and it wasn't an issue for housekeeping to provide us with extra pillows and linens for the two camp beds we brought with us so that we wouldn't all be cramped in the one (though very large!) bed. The outdoor balcony was a great place to relax and pick up the sea breezes (we were on the third floor directly opposite the lobby). We found that being up higher, with those breezes, certainly helped alleviate the humidity and we had little problems with mosquitos (aside from the first night with one being trapped in our room and feasting on us!). The bathroom is magnificent, and although there were some loose tiles and signs of wear and tear, it didn't detract from the beauty or luxury of the bathroom itself. We loved the huge shower! The Fairmont is simply a beautiful hotel and all of its grounds are breathtaking. The main pool is quite a stunning feature with its distinctive orchid and expansive view over the ocean. We all loved swimming in that pool! We also loved watching the local boats coming and going, and there is certainly enough room for a swim when the tide comes in. The lounges on the beach were relaxing, and while it gets very busy by the pool (there was one afternoon when we couldn't find a free lounge at all), it usually quietens by later in the afternoon. There is a great view of the ocean from the lobby, and the hotel's Balinese-style architecture is complemented by all the lovely frangipani trees, palms and bamboo. The Fairmont is in a great location in the quieter parts of Sanur, and there are so many beachside cafes right next door to the hotel along the walkway promenade. The hotel provides a shuttle service to the nearby supermarket Hardys, and it's an easy fifteen minutes stroll back from Sanur along the beach promenade to the hotel. But the food...the food! This is a major indicator of superior execellence for us as my wife has very complicated food intolerances and an allergy, and we emailed the hotel about it prior to arriving. My wife was expecting to be put into the too-hard basket to cater for, but the absolutely outstanding chefs at the Fairmont delivered utterly delicious, unique food for her for every breakfast and whenever we ate lunch and dinner at the hotel. Wonderful! My wife was given breakfasts like duck curry and Cantonese fried chicken and Indonesian turmeric broth with rice and noodles and fresh vegetables - all things that were gluten free, egg free, crustacean free and with a number of other things omitted from her diet because of said intolerances including dairy, tomatoes and onions. The amazing chefs at the Fairmont even made her an allergy free birthday carrot-and-pandang cake!! So delicious - my wife thought it was the best cake she had ever tasted! From the first night we were there, the superb head chef at Nyala restaurant by the pool enquired more specifically about my wife's dietary issues and took her to station by station around Nyala's Tuesday Barbeque night buffet, showing her what was fine for her and what wasn't, and letting her know that different food could be cooked from what was already on offer to cater to her preferences. He even made a to-die-for desert of coconut and palm sugar that my wife just loved and kept singing the praises of the entire time we were at the Fairmont (and to top it all off, the same desert was made for us on our last night at the hotel!). My wife could not be happier and she kept on saying that she wanted to live at the hotel :) For myself and my children, we loved the breakfast buffet and all the options, and were happily spoiled wherever we ate, whether at the restaurants or by the pool. A special hello to Yanti as well at Nyala. Indah, at breakfast, looked after us so nicely throughout our stay, and her professionalism and efficiency was so appreciated by all of us - thanks to Indah and the other lovely staff who catered to us! Our butler Adi kindly introduced himself to us at breakfast the morning after we arrived, and we are grateful to him for organising a snorkeling trip for myself (which was made more complicated because I was only going by myself, and I therefore had to fit in with other groups for the trip). A huge thanks goes to chef Alit from Layang Layang, not just for the amazing bicycle/market trip and his one-on-one time with us, but also because he was behind the special meals my wife got, and because he took such care of her in making her her own allergy-free food when she couldn't eat the normal food demonstrated at the Indonesian cooking class (which was a fantastic experience for all of us, kids and all!). This was genuinely a top-class holiday, and we can't wait to be back. Just wonderful, and our kids loved their experience - and now the Fairmont has a high bar set for everywhere else!! Just a couple of niggles - we had an issue with dirty linens being put on the bed, and the next day, when they were supposed to be refreshed (and my wife specifically left the large dirty marks exposed so that they should be noticed by housekeeping), the linens were not changed and simply put back onto the bed, dirty marks and all, and folded under the duvet to be not as noticeable. Not nice, and we must admit this did detract from our enjoyment of the room. The first time this happened, we realised so late that we were too tired to call housekeeping to remedy it, but the next night, when it happened again, we let our butler know and he organised for housekeeping to fix it. Didn't have a problem with housekeeping after that, and they also left us (before this issue) an interesting monkey/elephant towel friend on our bed that our kids, and ourselves, loved so much!. There was also an issue with our toilet in that it wasn't flushing properly, and then didn't flush at all, but I fixed it and we didn't need to alert housekeeping to it. The only other niggle my wife had was that when she enquired after food at the Nyala poolside menu (which is delivered both inside and outside of the restaurant lunch time menu), the particular chef in charge of that menu came outside and admitted that he wasn't up to catering for my wife's particular needs. Understandable, as the poolside menu is very westernised and full of gluten, but as the rest of the head chefs seemed to be so on top of my wife's problems, and so accommodating, this particular chef's response was a bit underwhelming. Inexperience, maybe? There was a cafe along the beach boulevard that tried much harder than him. Despite the niggles mentioned above, the Fairmont is truly a spectacular place and we would not hesitate to stay there again. The Spa was amazing with the two massages and foot reflexology that myself and my wife had, and she wanted to go back! Loved the afternoon tea and included meals at Layang Layang and Nyala restaurants that Luxury Escapes gave us. Would we come back again? Absolutely!! My wife has said that she wants to live here permanently at the Fairmont, Sanur, in paradise........ :)

Almost exactly to the day twelve months later we stayed at the Fairmont Sanur for 9 days. Our room was on the third floor with partial beach views. The reason we stayed the second time was because we loved the staff, room was superb, long walks on the beach and lots of extras like cooking school and high tea. Breakfasts are the best, and if you can't find they will make it for you. Happy hour was on the beach, and restaurants are everywhere. There is a little shop 5 minutes walk away, or Hardys supermarket 15 minutes walk from the Fairmont, our only criticism is that we didn't stay longer. Second visit was better than the first, which shouldn't be possible. Staff are the friendliest in our 14 visits to Bali. We will be back.

Stayed for 4 nights in a standard room - well what a room! Absolutely massive with huge bathroom, hallway into main bedroom area and then almost the same amount of space on the terrace. Views over the beautiful gardens and future to the sea. I recommend a 4th (top) floor room to get the best views. Not sure why you'd want a villa really. The hotel is very luxurious and in a great spot with its own beach area but also with access to the Sanur promenade to walk to loads of restaurants and a short 10 minute walk into main Sanur. The pool area is great with a 50 metre pool and a variety of loungers and daybeds. A great breakfast is expected at a 5 * resort and the Fairmont delivered. Had a few pool snacks which were tasty and reasonable value. 2 for 1 cocktails a bonus!

If I could, I'd give a 3.5 out of 5. We arrived late at night and were brought to our room relatively quickly. The staff who checked us in did not tell us that we had rcved a free upgrade to the signature spa suite on the 1st level (we had booked the garden view suite), so we were surprised by the huge rm. however, other than its size, nothing else impressed us. the sofa was stained and dirty. and when we were getting ready for bed we noticed that the duvet cover had multiple stains especially on the "underside". we immediately called and requested for a change of duvet cover and they came to do so BUT there were still obvious stains on the new duvet cover. by that time we were too tired to bother. we had ordered room svc as well (fairmont club sandwich w wedges / caesar salad). sandwich and wedges came cold and soggy. the romaines in the caesar salad weren't dried out well so there was a puddle of "vegetable water", causing the large chunks of bread (not croutons) to be wet and soggy. throughout the night, my husband and I had gotten multiple mosquito bites. next morn, we requested for a change of room to a higher level, hoping tt the mosquito situation would be resolved. we gave them feedback about the dirty sofa and duvet covers as well. the manager got back to us eventually and said that we would be getting an ocean view rm on the 4th lvl and assured us that he would personally see to it that cleanliness standards were met. he mentioned that he would get it ready by 2pm as we had to have a rm to get ready for an event. we only got the rm at 3pm and it was a little frustrating for us to have to keep checking back with the reception and not getting a definite answer. the ocean view rm was smaller but cleaner. there was a faulty bath tub that couldnt be used but we just couldn't be bothered anymore. there were strong winds at night. unbeknownst to us, the hinge on one of the balcony doors was loose, so for the entire night, we had to sleep with a loud rattling noise. needless to say, we didn't get much rest. The grounds are beautiful. staff are friendly and accomodating. however, the rooms are in dire need of maintenance and updates.

We had 8 nights on a Luxury Escapes package and enjoyed every minute. We have stayed at the hotel previously when it was branded as a Regent and some of the really luxury features of that brand have gone (eg Orchids everywhere, Occitane toiletries, pre breakfast in room tea / coffee etc) however the hotel, amenities and staff are all still fabulous. The Luxury escapes inclusions including dinners in both restaurants, cookery class, afternoon tea were all really enjoyable and just added to what was already a fabulous experience. The main pool is beautiful and there were always plenty of sunbeds and shades available both around the pool and on the beach. There are fishing boats in the sea outside the hotel but I think this just adds to the ambience. The location is perfect with everything needed within an easy walking distance. We particularly liked the outdoor beach side Cabana bar and it's happy hour which is new since our last stay, the drinks in this bar are great value for a hotel of this quality and the staff were always friendly and helpful We loved every minute of our stay and hope to be back soon
