Must visit if you're in Ubud. Imagine having your morning coffee with the view of uninterrupted greenery. The resort itself is very quiet and peaceful with amazingly friendly staff. Insta worthy location for sure x

THIS!! What an amazing stay, beware of the loose monkeys though we found some on our balcony. The staff is so great, and esthetically it is one of the most gorgeous places I have ever seen. Stay here, it is worth every penny.

We traveled on July 2017 therefore this is a late review but we certainly hoped things have improved since our visit. I agree with some reviews that this is not a 7-star property. Except for the infinity pool and lush surroundings, there is not much to shout about for its' price. Our room is dated and does not appear clean, it also has a musty smell to it which we have to open the sliding doors to air it out- while doing this we risk mosquitoes entering the room as there isn't a bug screen. I have to say the in-suite infinity pool is nice and we enjoyed our dip there while taking in the beautiful surroundings. On one of the evenings, we ventured to downtown Ubud with our one year old child. We attempted to arrange return transport back to the hotel but was told by the front desk to call the hotel and they will send a cab to pick us up. After dinner we asked restaurant staff to help us contact the hotel and send us a car but the hotel phone lines were down. The restaurant staff was very kind to keep us at the restaurant and continue trying, they even attempted to get a ride for us from downtown but it was a very busy night. We were also unable to flag down any available cabs in downtown Ubud. Finally we called Hanging Garden's sister property, Nandini Bali and informed them of our situation. I only know this by chance because our previous cab driver mentioned this on the way to Hanging Gardens. The front desk of Nandini managed to get in touch with Hanging Gardens and got a car for us, by then it was over 9pm and very dark especially trying to meander through the narrow roads to Hanging Gardens. When we arrived at Hanging Gardens, there were no apologies whatsoever from the front desk. The same person who asked us to call them prior to us leaving the hotel offers no apology and even charged us for the car trip. He simply said 'the phone lines were down', I'd expect a decent hotel to at least absorb the cab charges. Granted it may not be their fault that the phone lines are down but at least have the courtesy to allay our convenience. We just can not wait to leave the hotel at that point. We may expect a comment by management defending its' practices and questioning the reason we did not complain or mention all the above (as observed in previous reviews) but in all honestly, a hotel should anticipate these difficulties (dated rooms, musty smell etc) prior to offering rooms to their guests. Also with a young child in tow, it is low priority to make a scene at the hotel. All in all, apart from the pool and scenery, hotel is just average. Not a hotel to bring young children either, may be alright for couples. We stayed in Ritz Carlton Nusa Dua prior to this and it was such an enjoyable experience.

We were at the hanging gardens for our honeymoon, it was a wonderful experience, amazing views of the mountains from our room was beautiful. View from Infinity pool near the restaurant is breathtaking. Rooms are very well maintained also the private pools are clean and fresh. We opted for a picnic lunch by the river in the resort which costed us a whooping 250$ to end up eating few pieces of sandwiches, few fritters and fresh fruits and a piece of cake each, food was not at all upto the mark and was a total let down as we paid a huge price to eat something so tacky, so pro tip do not fall for these crazy options. Considering this is a 7 star location the food options in the only restaurant they have is bare minimal, they do not have many options for vegetarians, nothing close to what a 7star restaurant usually offers. Go here if you wish to enjoy the views and nature and relax, but this is not a place for people who love good food.

It’s Thursday, February 1st 2018 Around 3 pm, We arrived with our driver, the 3 of us were greeted by the staff in the lobby. Explained by the staff that as a non resident guest, we have packages to enjoy the resort. A package of restaurant visit = IDR 600,000 ++ / person (not including Pool access) , and a package of swimming pool visit = IDR 2,500,000 / person. On a first note, we can’t have a look on the venue before we actually decided which package we are going to buy due to the resort is private resort. So 3 of us sat down on the sofa, assisted by one of the girl from the reception, decided to do the restaurant package. It was me, and 2 friends of mine from Australia. When the lady came back with the invoice to pay for the restaurant package entry, the receipt only consist restaurant package for 2. Right, 2 persons, which I guess the lady did not see me sitting there and talking to her in bahasa, or wether she’s just too racist to think that an Indonesian can’t afford to eat there. Seriously this is a complete insult, There is no way you should make an assumption of who are going and who are not. Best, is to simply ask, “how many of you are going?” Complete disappointment, And food at the restaurant was just fine Never, going to go back
