Granite, bamboo, and further varieties of organic elements adorn the 36 private guest villas and 2 suites, each of which features its own breathtaking infinity pool, rippling into the jungle below. The entire resort is built atop wooden pillars set among the steep rice terraces of Ubud's forest preserves, cradled between lush mountains and the winding Ayung River. Streamlined design breathes beautiful minimalistic style, and creates thoroughly calming surroundings for your stay. The peaceful views are abundant, peering over the rainforest, river, and Segara Temple, which faces the resort from the opposite hillside.

Hanging gardens definitely promises you to have an amazing time! Pros: - The forest setting with ravine below brings you face to face with Bali's natural interior Unrivalled split-level freshwater swimming pool with breath-taking views across to a gorgeous temple - Stylish, well-lit villas with individual, infinity-edged plunge pools and terraces make you feel in a world of your own - Attentive service, amazing staffs! - Individually planned excursions give you a glimpse of Bali that many tourists miss Cons: - Of Ubud's luxury hotels, this is the furthest away from the town centre - a 25 minute drive - The free shuttle-bus into town stops at 5pm after that you’ll need a taxi - At this altitude it’s not as warm as on the coast, but some welcome the cooler air. But the pros definitely outshine the cons!

We have just spent 2 nights at Hanging Gardens of Bali and had a panoramic pool villa suite with heated infinity pool. The views were amazing and the villa was extremely spacious with a totally separate air conditioned living room. I was celebrating my birthday and was surprised to find my room decorated as well as given a lovely birthday cake. We found all the staff here to be incredibly friendly and happy to engage in conversations with us. We ate at the restaurant one night and had a floating sensation (boat) in our infinity pool for the second night. The food was delicious and extremely well presented. The views from both our villa and the main restaurant and infinity pool are stunning and I have no hesitation in recommending this resort as a truly special place to stay in Bali.

So pleased we booked to stay here. Luxury stay in the jungle but not too posh. Views were amazing like no other! Staff couldn't do enough for us went up and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. Just right for a romantic stay.

Amazing Views - Infinity Pools with Rainforest backdrop. Sound of waterfall & river flowing. Beautiful rooms & lounging areas. Had a Divine Afternoon Tea with Best Pisang Goreng (Fried Banana Fritters). Staff were extremely attentive. I'll be back ❤️

If I had thought I'd booked a 3/4 star hotel, I would have been happy. But it's not even 5 star, let alone the 7 stars they have given themselves. The view here is stunning. The pool is very nice. However, in describing themselves as 7 stars, they are lining themselves up for some big disappointments. Yes its beautiful, but the facilities and decoration are dated and more around a 3 star (other than the pool) and the staff while being very nice, are also not up to the standard of a 5 star hotel. Everyone comes for the pool. Many of the very famous photos though are taken from drones so it doesn't look exactly as you imagine. Beyond this, they have no gym and most surprising don't even offer yoga, which is what Ubud is all about. So once you're here, there's not much to do between being in your room or laying by the pool. The decoration in the rooms is very dated, it's very polished wood and not in keeping with other similar properties in the area. The breakfast buffet selection is no where near that of a 5 star hotel. They also try to make as much money as possible. Things started off badly when I made the booking and then received an email from a different email address saying I needed to do a PayPal transfer in order for it to be confirmed. I refused to do this and they miraculously managed to confirm the booking with the original payment. We did a trip to a temple and back. They tried to charge us for a full day trip, even explaining how they were saving us money, rather than the half day at the most that it should have been. We refused to pay the full day and the money was refunded. The restaurant is incredibly expensive, £13.50 for a glass of wine! You could almost get a bottle for this in London. We did a massage at the spa. The person before us came late so we were left to wait in the reception for half an hour, rather than offering the previous customer less time due to their mistake. We then missed the sunset, and with the sky lighting up pink, that would have been one of the special things to see here. I've read that it is maybe possible to do a day trip to the pool, if so go for that and then spend the same money to stay at an actual 5 star hotel nearby, this one isn't worth it, other than to see the pool & view.
