Hanging Gardens of Bali

We booked a three-night stay at Hanging Gardens of Bali with high expectations, but unfortunately our experience raised serious health and safety concerns, especially as I am pregnant. Upon check-in, there was a strong insecticide smell inside our villa, which immediately made me uncomfortable. Later that same day, the hotel conducted mosquito fogging across the property without any prior notice to guests. Smoke entered our private villa, including both the bedroom and terrace, leaving the space filled with fog for an extended period. As a pregnant guest, this caused significant physical discomfort and anxiety. While mosquito control may be necessary in a jungle environment, advance notification is essential—particularly for guests with health sensitivities—so they can take precautions or temporarily leave the area. Unfortunately, no such notice was given. In addition, there were several smaller but concerning details that detracted from the overall experience: small insects found around the complimentary dessert, and constant creaking noises from the wooden floor, which made the villa feel less well-maintained than expected for a luxury property. The hotel is also very remote, which further amplified our concern, as access to medical facilities is limited. For pregnant travelers or anyone with health considerations, this is something to carefully take into account. While the staff were polite, the overall handling of these issues was disappointing. Based on our experience, I would strongly caution pregnant guests or those sensitive to chemicals or smoke before choosing this hotel.

We had an unforgettable stay at Hanging Gardens of Bali. The staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. Their warm hospitality truly made our experience special. The villa was beautiful with attention to every detail. The staff were very attentive & friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The restaurants were also very good with a selection to choose from. The Spa was outstanding

Dear Hanging Gardens of Bali staff, My husband and I stayed with you from 15–18 November 2025 to celebrate my 43rd birthday, and we could not have imagined a more unforgettable experience. Everything was extraordinary — not only the breathtaking surroundings and impeccable service, but above all, the people who make this place so special. I enjoyed the Traditional Balinese massage on two days: first with Muliani, and then with Yuni, and both experiences were absolutely perfect. Their skill, warmth, and care created moments of pure relaxation that I will carry with me for a long time. The kindness extended far beyond the spa. Every staff member we encountered made us feel cherished — from the trainees who welcomed us with smiles in the funicular lift, to the restaurant and bar team who were always attentive, to the wonderful people at the pool who even helped us take beautiful photos. We were touched by the gentle gestures, like the staff who brought tea to our room in the evening, including the lovely lady who came during heavy rain, turning a simple moment into something incredibly comforting. Every conversation, every smile, every thoughtful detail contributed to a stay that felt truly magical. We wish we could list every name, but there were simply too many wonderful people. Please know that each of you made a genuine difference in our experience. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. We left with beautiful memories and deep appreciation.
