Reviews for Hanging Gardens of Bali
We had dinner here. Perhaps we should not have ordered Australian Beef here but it was disappointing for the both of us. Amongst others not tender at all, average quality at best. Also the cocktail (Caipiroski) was not as good as you could expect. Excellent pisang goreng and service. But summarizing average food and price/quality is not good.
This property took my breath away. Far from the city and amidst the greenery. The hospitality is top notch. I stayed there for three nights to explore ubud and enjoy the peacefulness. The view from our pool villa was just stunning. The highlights of this property were their infinity pool, the spa by the river (which was so relaxing, you could hear the sound of water and nothing else. This place situated away from the rooms and near the stream where you could just lay there have a great massage at your own peace.), the food was just exceptional from their breakfast to dinner whatever we had ordered was cooked to perfection. This property should be included in your travel when traveling to ubud.
Must visit if you're in Ubud. Imagine having your morning coffee with the view of uninterrupted greenery. The resort itself is very quiet and peaceful with amazingly friendly staff. Insta worthy location for sure x
THIS!! What an amazing stay, beware of the loose monkeys though we found some on our balcony. The staff is so great, and esthetically it is one of the most gorgeous places I have ever seen. Stay here, it is worth every penny.

We traveled on July 2017 therefore this is a late review but we certainly hoped things have improved since our visit. I agree with some reviews that this is not a 7-star property. Except for the infinity pool and lush surroundings, there is not much to shout about for its' price. Our room is dated and does not appear clean, it also has a musty smell to it which we have to open the sliding doors to air it out- while doing this we risk mosquitoes entering the room as there isn't a bug screen. I have to say the in-suite infinity pool is nice and we enjoyed our dip there while taking in the beautiful surroundings. On one of the evenings, we ventured to downtown Ubud with our one year old child. We attempted to arrange return transport back to the hotel but was told by the front desk to call the hotel and they will send a cab to pick us up. After dinner we asked restaurant staff to help us contact the hotel and send us a car but the hotel phone lines were down. The restaurant staff was very kind to keep us at the restaurant and continue trying, they even attempted to get a ride for us from downtown but it was a very busy night. We were also unable to flag down any available cabs in downtown Ubud. Finally we called Hanging Garden's sister property, Nandini Bali and informed them of our situation. I only know this by chance because our previous cab driver mentioned this on the way to Hanging Gardens. The front desk of Nandini managed to get in touch with Hanging Gardens and got a car for us, by then it was over 9pm and very dark especially trying to meander through the narrow roads to Hanging Gardens. When we arrived at Hanging Gardens, there were no apologies whatsoever from the front desk. The same person who asked us to call them prior to us leaving the hotel offers no apology and even charged us for the car trip. He simply said 'the phone lines were down', I'd expect a decent hotel to at least absorb the cab charges. Granted it may not be their fault that the phone lines are down but at least have the courtesy to allay our convenience. We just can not wait to leave the hotel at that point. We may expect a comment by management defending its' practices and questioning the reason we did not complain or mention all the above (as observed in previous reviews) but in all honestly, a hotel should anticipate these difficulties (dated rooms, musty smell etc) prior to offering rooms to their guests. Also with a young child in tow, it is low priority to make a scene at the hotel. All in all, apart from the pool and scenery, hotel is just average. Not a hotel to bring young children either, may be alright for couples. We stayed in Ritz Carlton Nusa Dua prior to this and it was such an enjoyable experience.
