This property gives everything you want in a luxury holiday — and then some. As a travel agent, I’ve seen a lot of beautiful hotels, but few that embrace their surroundings as perfectly as Kamandalu. Locally owned and staffed by people who clearly take pride in their culture and craft, the resort feels authentic, deeply connected to nature, and completely seamless from start to finish. We were greeted personally on arrival, and because the team already knew our preferences, we were whisked straight to our villa to enjoy a welcome drink by the pool — exactly what we needed after a long trip. It set the tone for what became an unforgettable stay. Our Pool Villa was stunning: perfectly manicured gardens, a huge private pool, and an outdoor bath and shower that somehow felt both secure and completely freeing. Simple, beautiful, and functional — exactly what a luxury jungle escape should be. Breakfast was a highlight. I loved the buffet for its variety and freedom — I could craft my perfect breakfast based on my mood that day. The in-villa option was ideal for early mornings before activities, and everything arrived fresh, hot, and on time. Lunch by the poolside café was relaxed and luxurious, while dinner at the restaurant showcased authentic Indonesian cuisine elevated to fine-dining standards. The 4-course candlelit dinner was pure romance — private, atmospheric, and delicious. We also experienced a flower bath and a couples massage at the Forest Spa, complete with a jungle swing photo moment. The spa ritual was incredibly calming — listening to the hum of the forest during our massage was something I’ll never forget. The staff are what truly set Kamandalu apart. Hendri and his assistant were exceptional — they seemed to know who we were before we even stepped out of the car. They organised everything from our check-in and candlelit dinner to our spa treatments and ATV tour. The WhatsApp group between myself, my husband, and the hotel made communication effortless. Somehow, every staff member seemed to know our names, preferences, and schedule — the internal communication is world-class. The atmosphere of the resort adapted to us. Some days we wanted quiet privacy — we got it. Other days, we were up for conversation or a laugh by the pool — they matched our energy perfectly. That flexibility made our stay feel personal and deeply human. Even checkout went above and beyond. Though our flight wasn’t until late evening, the staff offered us another villa to freshen up before leaving — a small but deeply thoughtful gesture that summed up the entire experience. Kamandalu Ubud is the perfect choice for couples and honeymooners who want luxury that feels genuine and warm rather than over-the-top. The location is near Ubud center, so it is easy to get there by taxi or shuttle that hotel provides. The garden and landscape from the room was very nice. The room is fantastic!! The hotel is worth more than its price!

We visited for the Koi Fish Photo Moment, and it turned out to be such a wonderful experience! At first, we were a bit disappointed because the pond was smaller than we had imagined. However, our experience quickly turned around thanks to the amazing staff member, Arjuna. He was incredibly patient, friendly, and creative — guiding us with different poses and angles to make sure we got the most beautiful shots. You can really tell he cares about making guests happy and helping them capture memorable photos. In the end, we left with stunning pictures and big smiles. What started as a small disappointment became one of the highlights of our trip, all because of Arjuna’s effort and enthusiasm. Highly recommend this experience, especially if you’re lucky enough to have him assisting you!

Fell asleep of how comfortable it was. So good. Tension is al gone from my body. From a stone to a feather. Would recommend.

I got to kamandalu for my photoshoot wearing my own dress and I had a wardrobe malfunction- apriana was kind enough to help me fix my dress for the photoshoot and jhon who did the shoot was very kind and warm, both were very helpful with poses and instructions, they were very kind and made it a smooth process for me. The entire kamandalu team was very welcoming, thank you jhon and apriana for making my birthday shoot easy and worth it Highly recommend
