We had another wonderful stay at Karma Kandara and will absolutely be back. Our villa was beautiful, comfortable, and perfect for our family. The beach remains one of our favorite places in Bali, and the Food & Beverage managers were exceptional. They genuinely listened, cared, and did everything they could to make our stay better. Their hospitality is a big reason we’ll return. The cliff side yoga was incredible! Totally worth the extra cost. The spa was also very nice with spectacular views, I got an oxygen facial, and their Japanese scalp treatment. We stayed in a 2 bedroom pool villa it was beyond perfect! Great for families with small kids, all 1 floor. The biggest disappointment was the Karma Beach club food menu. One of the main reasons we returned was because we absolutely loved the beach club in 2024. It had the perfect beach menu with amazing sandwiches, seafood, beach bites, smoothies, desserts, gelato, and plenty of family-friendly options. It was one of our favorite places to spend the day. This stay was confusing because the menu changed multiple times. Before arriving, we were shown a menu that looked fantastic and still captured the same beach club feeling, with items like the chilled lobster and crab roll, poke bowls, Baja fish tacos, quesadillas, calamari, Thai chicken satay, Wagyu Sirloin Steak Frites, and so many other amazing lunch options. It looked very similar to the menu we loved in 2024, so we were genuinely excited. When we arrived at Karma Beach the following day, we were surprised to find that menu had been replaced with one that was heavily focused on Indian cuisine. We absolutely enjoy Indian food, but it’s not what we expected to eat for lunch every day at a Bali beach club. We had returned specifically looking forward to the diverse, relaxed beach menu we remembered that made Karma Beach one of our favorite places to spend the day. While I have to say the Chicken Tikka Masala ended up being the best lunch item we had at the beach club, it still didn’t feel like the relaxed beach menu we had returned for. We were then told this was only a temporary menu while a brand-new kitchen was being completed and that an entirely new menu would be launching soon. Once the new menu launched, it certainly had some good dishes, but it still didn’t capture what made the original Karma Beach menu so special. It feels much more like a fine dining restaurant than a beach club. Personally, I’m not looking to eat a whole lobster while relaxing on a lounge chair. We really missed the casual beach bites and family-friendly options that made us spend entire days at Karma Beach. We also experienced disappointing food quality on the newly launched menu. My husband’s chicken arrived severely undercooked basically raw and had to be sent back. My lobster and shrimp pot stickers also were raw and clear in color. We will say the sushi and Japanese options were a great add on to the new menu! Hamachi sushi roll tasted so good and the sushi bowl. However after eating one of the sushi items I became a bit ill afterward (maybe it was the sushi, maybe not… but there seemed to be patterns with other guests who also ate the sushi) It left us feeling uneasy about ordering from the new menu for the rest of our stay. We sincerely hope the kitchen reviews its quality control. Karma Kandara is still one of our favorite resorts, and we truly hope management considers bringing back more of what made the original Karma Beach menu so memorable. We would love to see Karma Beach become the destination we happily planned our return trip around. We completely understand that menus evolve over time, but this felt like a major shift away from the identity of Karma Beach. We hope future menu changes are made with the overall guest experience in mind, because the original menu was one of the main reasons we chose to return. The new direction simply doesn’t feel like the beach club experience we fell in love with. The in villa dining food was also great! This has been one of the best hotels I have stayed at in Bali. The food was amazing from the room service to the different resteraunts they had. the rooms were very clean and tidy, the private pool was amazing, the couples spa was excellent. My husband and I really enjoyed our days here. At night it was quiet and peaceful in our area. The shuttle to help us get to places was very timely and they were all friendly. The only thing I was upset was not being able to use the lift to the beach but they did have a shuttle which was nice. The walk to the beach could be little tough if you are elderly or not fit.

If you are looking for a true bucket-list escape in Bali, Karma Kandara is it. We recently stayed here and it was, without a doubt, a lifetime experience that we will never forget. From the moment we arrived, the cliffside views over the Bukit Peninsula took our breath away, but what made our stay truly special was our time at the Mentari Apartments. Instead of a standard hotel room, the Mentari Apartments felt like our own private luxury sanctuary. The space was incredibly generous, featuring a massive, airy living area, a beautiful modern kitchen, and a private balcony that was perfect for unwinding. The design struck the perfect balance between chic, modern luxury and authentic Balinese warmth. It gave us the ultimate privacy while still keeping us connected to everything the resort has to offer. Karma Kandara isn’t just a place to sleep; it’s a place that stays with you long after you leave. We left with memories to last a lifetime, and we cannot recommend the Mentari Apartments enough if you want the perfect Bali getaway!

We were given a room that was supposed to be a deluxe studio suite when in fact is was nothing more than a regular hotel room. The sheets were dirty, the air conditioner rattled and the overall cleanliness of the room was very poor and there was one lounge chair in the room meaning we could not sit together to dine, watch TV or just relax. I made a request for a villa and after our 7 day stay we had still not heard a definitive yes or no. At one stage they said they needed to escalate the request to consierge and then advised me they don’t work weekends. There was a bar in our building advertised as a sports bar - it was closed and would only open if booked for a specified time period 24 hrs in advance. There were 4 restaurants at the facility all located in the same area at the other end of the premises and all 4 serving primarily Indian food. The only pool at the resort was closed for 24 hrs for a private function, the primary restaurant was closed for dinner for a private event and the beachside bar was closed for 4 days due to renovation. Add to this, the prices of everything at the resort are an absolute premium, for example, a massage at a local spa ranged from $25 - $50 aud and the same at the resort was $117aud. All in all the experience was disappointing, extremely overpriced and certainly not pleasantly memorable. In fact I would say memorable for all the wrong reasons. Would not recommend and certainly won’t be returning.

Our family of six, including our elderly parents, had an amazing stay at Karma Kandara. It was a very special holiday as our elder daughter joined us from Germany while the rest of us travelled from India, making it a memorable family reunion and celebration of our 25th wedding anniversary. The resort is simply breathtaking, with spectacular clifftop views, a beautiful private beach, luxurious facilities and impeccable upkeep. More than the stunning location, it was the genuine warmth of the people that made our stay exceptional. The dining experience at Di Mare and Samudra Ganesha was outstanding. A special thank you to Chef Jeevraj Singh for preparing delicious vegetarian meals with such care. We are also grateful to Monika (GRO), Pram, Evan (F&B Manager) and Rai (General Manager) for their outstanding hospitality and personal attention. A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful team at Samudra Ganesha—Puspa, Dana, Yoga, Diana, Julian and Ngakan—whose friendly smiles, attentive service and genuine kindness made every meal a delightful experience. Every member of the Karma Kandara team made our elderly parents feel comfortable and cared for, while ensuring the rest of our family enjoyed every moment. Their hospitality truly reflects the spirit of Bali. Thank you, Karma Kandara, for giving our family memories we will cherish forever. We look forward to returning soon! Highly recommended for anyone looking for a luxurious resort with world-class hospitality.
