Our experience at Karma Kandara was truly wonderful! The staff went out of their way to make us feel at home, always offering friendly assistance whenever we needed it. We absolutely adored the dining experience at Restaurant di Mare—the food was simply exquisite and the team went out of their way to make it a special evening for us. Spending time on the beach was a highlight of our stay. The beach is simply breathtaking with white sand and turquoise blue waters, and the beach club team headed by Ed looked after us incredibly well. The spa has one of the the best views in the world and is an absolute treat. Leaving Karma Kandara was bittersweet; we departed feeling rejuvenated and grateful for the memories made during our stay, already planning our return trip to Bali!

It was amazing stay with this hotel. Perfect SPA, the views, rooms… food and the beach, everything was just perfect. I love the stuff and how they care about you. Movie nights on the beach are so cute. Beaches are perfect there! We love this hotel.

Karma Kandara is truly about experience. We felt so loved and had such a great time at the resort. There's so much to do and everything was organised perfectly, from feeling at home on arrival in the villa, special dinners like paella night, the 6-course dinner was my absolute favourite! the food was SO GOOD!, the cocktails amazing and the SPA-treatment with that view was just a dream plus there's a beach with shuttle close-by where you can enjoy the beach in comfort. Last but not least: they organize movie nights! Highly recommend going so when you were in doubt before reading this review: book it!

Our villa (no3) has the most amazing views over the sea and southwest facing so amazing sunset. The villa is all that you would hope for - luxurious, comfy and with lovely touches like all en-suite bathrooms have inside & outside showers, extra large deck & shady bale with views over the ocean set in a beautiful private garden. The beach club at Kandara is amazing - glorious sandy beach, comfy sunbeds and lots of shade! Food & cocktails are delicious, ambience is awesome with regular DJs and great for people watching! Di Mare restaurant offers simply incredible food options in the most amazing & intimate setting. The staff in the resort are wonderful - professional, approachable and welcoming. Lots of activities regularly put on for adults and kids alike - one of the few places we always return to, it is paradise.

This was our fourth trip to Karma Kandara over a number of years so we know the resort really well. I am still rating the resort a five star experience even though there were some negative issues on this visit, however the plusses still far outweighed the negatives. Firstly the negatives - we were not aware prior to arriving at the resort that the cable car down to the beach club is not operational. This is a real issue from our perspective. On past visits we have generally gone down to the beach most days and have dined there at night regularly. At the moment you are guided to the shuttle bus service and from the drop off point there is a walkway down to the beach that seems to take ages and is VERY uphill and downhill. This may be OK if you are young and fit but but it is not for the faint hearted and once was more than enough for us! I know that the cable car is waiting on government certification following the Ubud tragedy last year but others are operating in the vicinity and this should be an absolute priority for Karma to do whatever is necessary to have this rectified. It seems ridiculous that staff are allowed to use the cable car but not guests! The other negative was the location of the villa we stayed in but that is probably just down to bad luck with the allocation. The villa itself was very nice but was located with a well used pathway in front of the villa next to the pool. I was continually waving to staff and other guests from the pool so privacy was an issue. The villa was also located next to some old galvanised iron sheds which I think are used for storage but they are an eyesore and workmen were regularly on the roof hammering away fixing something, it would have been better if they were knocking the sheds down! We did request a relocation but to no avail. Now for the positives - absolutely the best staff I have found anywhere in Bali and that includes the 5 star Nusa Dua resorts we have stayed at. They are gentle, genuine, friendly and very attentive. They always have a smile on their faces and full marks to the resorts staff training procedures! A special mention to Meily at Di Mare who has been at the resort for some 18 years and even remembered us from previous visits. A sound out also to the buggy drivers who look after you very well and who you couldn't do without! The food is also sensational, we dined at the pool, at the main restaurant Di Mare several times and utilised in-room dining a couple of times. We did not dine at the beach club for the reasons mentioned above. However we did not have a bad meal while we were there and the chocolate fondue at Di Mare is to die for! The Spa enjoys one of the most stunning views you could imagine and we both enjoyed an afternoon at the Spa during our stay. Overall though this resort is highly recommended and the fact that we have booked to stay there again next year speaks volumes. Hopefully though the cable car is working again by then!!
