The Oberoi Beach Resort, Bali

It’s a beautiful hotel. I can hardly believe it’s over 40 years old and has never undergone a major renovation. Some may consider it dated, but I think the upkeep has been exceptional. I arrived with relatively modest expectations, having just stayed at Apurva Kempinski and Anantara Ubud before ending my Bali trip at Oberoi. However, this property pleasantly surprised me. The grounds are stunning and impeccably maintained. The à la carte breakfast is genuinely good, with plenty of options, especially for guests who enjoy Indian cuisine. Our dinner at Kura Kura Restaurant was also excellent, with beautiful ambience, attentive service, and delicious food. The beach is directly in front of the hotel, making it incredibly convenient and accessible. The pool is simple but enjoyable and even seemed temperature-controlled. The rooms are comfortable and well-appointed, but what truly stands out here is the service. From the reception team to the breakfast, dinner, and poolside staff, everyone was warm, friendly, and professional. The attention to detail from housekeeping was equally impressive. I hold memberships with GHA, Marriott, IHG, and several other hotel loyalty programmes, yet I arrived at Oberoi not expecting any special treatment as I am not a top-tier member. The fact that they proactively offered me a late checkout, something that even elite members at some other hotel chains may not always receive, was a genuinely thoughtful gesture. Over the course of our stay, this hotel really grew on us. While it may not offer as many activities for children as some larger resorts, its beachfront location, proximity to the local market, and outstanding service create a luxurious, relaxed, and authentically Balinese atmosphere. I would absolutely recommend Oberoi Bali. It has become one of my favourite hotels in Bali and is easily one of the better luxury options on the island. I’m writing this review before checking out because I feel the team deserves the recognition. If I wait until I leave, I might never get around to posting it—and they certainly deserve the praise.

Stunning experience. I have been a few times before and the service is always top notch. The grounds are lush and green. The location in Seminyak is perfect.

It was our first time staying at the Oberoi Hotel in Seminyak and we can only compliment the hotel team for the experience they gave us. The hotel is amazing in every aspect, the staff, it’s clean, spacious and the gardens are amazing. Since returning home we have spoken about when we can come back. Thanks again for a wonderful stay.

I’ve been living in Singapore for over 23 years, and I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve visited Bali. Yet, for me, The Oberoi Beach Resort, Bali remains, by far, the best place to stay in Seminyak, perhaps even the best place to stay on the entire island. While trends come and go around the island, this little paradise has remained exactly the same since day one: authentically Balinese in its essence. The cherry on top is the staff — local, genuine Balinese people who do their absolute best to make every guest’s stay truly memorable. This was our third stay at the Oberoi Seminyak. Arriving 22nd May- 5th June. Be mindful that these dates coincide with school holidays in India so can be a little busier than usual. The weather was incredible during our recent stay. The Oberoi has always delivered on customer service, and this time was no exception. The grounds and gardens are beautifully maintained, and the staff from the front desk, grounds crew, wait team are of the highest quality. The rooms are also cleaned to an exceptionally high standard and the one percenters are a really nice touch like glasses cleaning cloth the Frangipanni's on the pillows. As we were celebrating our wedding anniversary the resort went beyond our expectations to ensure that we had a memorable special experience. It is truly wonderful that the resort stays true the Balinese original style villas and it's something that I think truly is a big point of difference from other hotels. The location is ideal as it is absolute beach front and is very close to the main street in Seminyak. The afternoon sunsets are next level while enjoying an icy cold beer or cocktail. I absolutely have no hesitation in recommending this simply stunning resort for couples and families. (Its important to note that it does not have a kid's pool). 6 stars for me.
