Puri Wulandari in Bali, Indonesia

With a tapestry of rice fields, verdant flora and blue skies, Puri Wulandari, is the perfect prescription for a healing retreat. Located in Ubud, Bali, the resort has luxurious amenities and features prevailing Balinese architecture that weaves a ribbon of allure throughout the property. With less than three dozen one- and two-bedroom villas swathed in over-the-top comforts, private retreats include living and dining areas, bathrooms with oversize tubs, and private swimming pools for an intimate plunge. All the necessary modern devices are present as well, from flat-panel televisions and DVD players to mini bars stocked with a stash of gourmet snacks and premium spirits.

I traveled to Ubud and visited the Puri Wulandari during Chinese New Year - I was working in Asia temporarily and without family or friends so this was the perfect place for me. My villa had a gorgeous view of the jungle and a private pool. It was incredibly spacious inside and out. It was also quiet and I entered full relaxation-mode during my time there. The staff was friendly, kind, helpful and attentive, the on-sight spa was great and the food was fabulous. I so enjoyed my stay; it was truly a slice of heaven.

Loved the location and the views possible from the property. Living in a forest from the safe confines of my villa are the memories I take back from the stay. The staff were always helpful. The villa was king size for the price. Worth every penny. The only negative was the dinner.

The view is amazing, both main & private pools are very nice. Some of the staff are very friendly. Profit from the free shuttle to go to the village. Even if it is raining in the resort it might not be raining in the village. Breakfast wasn't a buffet, we had to stick to the menu with limited portions and options. Wifi connection is weak. Some of the Staff weren't friendly. At night you might hear a noise coming from the village in the front & in the morning you can hear the voices of people rafting in the river. But the voices are far.

well, difficult to explain a place in words which offers something more then the words. Puri Wulandari is a resort right in the middle of a a thick and serene rain forest. if you are looking for party, noise, fun and clubs, you should stop reading right now and move on to some other page. but if you are looking for a relaxing, calm and serene experience of seeing nature and beauty you shall not miss this place. I have been to other resorts in the forests and places where the noisy life of cities can not be heard, but I would rate this resort as the number one. not only because of the build and space but also the kind of luxury you get. it is difficult to decide whether the scenery is better or the service :). very helping staff, only visible when you need to see them. They are as quite and peaceful as the place it self. You truly hear the sound of silence about which Simon and Garfunkle wrote a beautiful song, along with the sound of nature coming from far distances through the trees. If I need to write a novel someday and would like to go to a quite and beautiful place, this resort will be my first choice. however, I wasn't alone as I traveled with my family. initially I thought that since my kids are too young, they might not like a quieter place but they actually loved it. we had a pool villa so they had a great pool to swim and watch the trees dance in the moist breeze. there are many places to visit close by. Rice terraces are an amazing sight which is not too far from here, also you see a lot of tourists there with a small but busy street bazar to offer the local crafts. there are some amazing temples nearby, had one of the most amazing experience walking through them. the resort also offer some very interesting activities including a morning bike ride along the villages nearby. Extremely refreshing and great experience. very much recommended if you are looking for a quiet and relaxing trip, either alone or with family.

The resort is peaceful--I think I went during low season though. Booked directly through their site after going back and forth via email for package. Got a good deal. the staff are friendly and so hospitable. I got one of my best massages here which was part of the package I booked. The breakfast is great, but dinner was just above average. The room is huge and has sweeping views of the jungle. The Infiniti pool and lunge area right outside of the room is great for pictures and selfies. My room was all the way at the end, so I had plenty of privacy and peace and quiet.
