Puri Wulandari

The atmosphere of Puri Wulandari is wonderful. The staff are exceptionally nice , welcoming and attentive. Our room was fantastic and a lot bigger than we thought it'd be. We felt like we were hidden away from the outside world. The villa is well suited to couples on a honeymoon, or even someone needing a getaway but wanting to get some work done while abroad. The outdoor area was totally roofed so even in the rain of the wet season we could sit outside and catch up on emails on our laptops and have a drink. There is a convenient outdoor mini bar to store drinks. The location of the hotel has its pluses and minuses. On the plus side, you feel like you're properly in the jungle with lush forest to look at while you swim in your private pool. That was probably the best part. On the negative side, you're a decent hike out of town, you need to get taxis to go anywhere of significance. It's about 20 - 30 minutes to the main strip in Ubud because of traffic. Overall, It wasn't cheap, but we felt like we got our money's worth. One slight negative was the food. It definitely wasn't bad as such. But we had breakfast and lunch/dinner included in our package and after a couple of days of the limited menu we were ready to eat out. A lot of the food seemed a little too cold when it arrived at our table. I'm not sure whether some of it was pre-cooked. Dishes which sounded good on paper, often tasted a little bland when we received them. I'm not sure whether this was a different menu than everyone else got. And there was never any salt and pepper on the table , we had to ask for it constantly. I would recommend downloading the grab and gojek apps. We had some fantastic poke bowls delivered to the security gate one day. And the delivery food is much cheaper than home in Australia. Cleanliness-wise the place was great. It's very quiet too. You will get the occasional ant or insect running around but you're in the jungle, that's too be expected. We found a frog nest in the swimming pool the second morning and moved it to our small fish pond with resident frog, Kenneth. We got to slowly watch the eggs hatch and our pond become full of baby tadpoles over a few days, which was pretty cool. The toilets in the hotel were fantastic. I wished we had toilets like that back home -the size , the flushing mechanism, the hose on the wall - there was never any nasties left as soon as you flushed. ---------------------------------------------- TIPS to the owner to make it better The coffee cups in the room are far too small. They need to be twice as big. Putting a full satchet into such small cups makes it far too strong. Most hotels I've stayed in have cheap pod/nespresso machines. There's shampoo in the bathroom but no conditioner. People need conditioner! My partner and I both had super dry ratty hair after swimming in the pool everyday and then having to use shampoo without conditioner. ------------------------------ Overall we would definitely recommend Puri Wulandari and look forward to staying again one day.

I have never seen an amazing place with this much natural beauty before and I don’t think I ever will , everything was perfect from the space to the service to the friendly people they were all kind , professional and very respectful I give them a million out of ten .

What a beautiful place. Stunning scenery. The staff are amazing. Thoroughly recommend the morning rice paddy walk. This is a beautiful hotel.

We returned to Puri Wulandari for the second time, our first stay was back in 2011 and truly unforgettable, and once again, everything was fantastic. We booked 7 nights to fully enjoy the tranquility and the wonderfully relaxing atmosphere of the property, as well as all the amazing activities around Ubud. The location is absolutely perfect: very quiet and peaceful, surrounded by lush jungle, yet still a short drive from the heart of Ubud. Our villa was absolutely brilliant: very spacious, with a beautiful bathroom including an outdoor shower, plenty of storage, a lovely outdoor dining and lounge area, and a private infinity pool overlooking the jungle, a stunning and serene view. The food was excellent, with a great selection of delicious local dishes, all beautifully presented. The spa was fantastic as well, professional therapists, very calming environment, and treatments that left us completely refreshed and relaxed. All the staff were extremely professional, warm, and attentive, making us feel welcome at every moment. Their exceptional service made our stay truly unforgettable.
