Puri Wulandari in Bali, Indonesia

With a tapestry of rice fields, verdant flora and blue skies, Puri Wulandari, is the perfect prescription for a healing retreat. Located in Ubud, Bali, the resort has luxurious amenities and features prevailing Balinese architecture that weaves a ribbon of allure throughout the property. With less than three dozen one- and two-bedroom villas swathed in over-the-top comforts, private retreats include living and dining areas, bathrooms with oversize tubs, and private swimming pools for an intimate plunge. All the necessary modern devices are present as well, from flat-panel televisions and DVD players to mini bars stocked with a stash of gourmet snacks and premium spirits.

This place is worth its weight in gold! From the moment we entered our 1 bedroom villa we were left in awe at the stunning views, the pool, the bathroom, the outdoor shower, its literally walking into paradise. Our villa was very private with our own infinity pool that over looked the gorgeous green jungle. We were treated like royalty everyday for 7 days. If your after peace, quite and some quality down time then this is the right place. You can hear the white water rafting that runs down in the valley below but its not too loud to bother you. Its sometime reassuring to know that civilization isn't too far away! We felt that removed from it all. It is worth mentioning that you pay for quality and for the view. This is place is quality and therefore its not cheap. The food and alcohol is very expensive compared to outside restaurants or other eating places. In saying that, we didn't get sick once while we stayed here - everything is cleaned and maintained at a high standard. So I was more than happy to pay the extra amount. I would highly recommend the Puri Wulandari to any of my friends, family. It was a fabulous experience and I would return in a heart beat!

Incredible hotel with authentic Balinese architecture, well looked after in stunning landscaped grounds and valley side infinity pool (amazing views). Beautiful spa and rooms large with infinity plunge pool and spacious outside area in the privacy of your own compound. Although located on the river the place was smoked effectively once a week so we were not bitten by mosquitos. Lovely food at both restaurants though the local alcohol was frightfully bad. Escorted everywhere by golf buggy as grounds are quite steep. No coffee and tea making facilities in the villas. One of the most beautiful hotels we have ever stayed in, lasting great memories of this place. Picture perfect and a very special place.

The stay I had here with my wife was nothing less than exceptional. The standard suite we received had a gorgeous private infinity pool, a large outdoor lounging area, and a 1 bedroom cottage all together. In addition to this great setup, they designed each suite to have large walls for a large amount of privacy while keeping each on a ledge in order to be able to see one of the most spectacular views of Ubud's forests from literally every room in the suite. I would love to visit again.

Everything about this resort is breathtaking. The private villas, the polite and amazing staff, the excellent food, the beautiful nature, I can go on and one. I went here with my sister and the staff treated us perfectly. This is most definitely a honeymoon destination and there weren't a lot of people staying there at the time. The resort has a beautiful pool but we didn't spend any time there as the pool in our room was so beautiful. The bathroom was massive and the outdoor shower was such a beautiful feature. Staff were super polite when you called them to get a ride from the room to the lobby. At one point you could hear construction going on just over the jungle which is quite annoying as you only want to hear the jungle sounds. We called the front desk and within 5 minutes they managed to get the construction noise to stop which I thought was pretty amazing as it was happening on the other side of the jungle. A little on the pricey side but i would definitely come back but probably for my honeymoon rather than with friends.
