About the Hotel

If Royal Pita Maha feels unusually regal, there is good reason. This divine retreat is owned and managed by the royal family of Ubud, in Southeast Bali. With their lush landscaping, the Royal House, Royal Villas and Pool Villas are gracefully integrated into the setting of sweeping rice terraces, river gorges and tropical woodlands. Fodor's declares the accommodations "tastefully luxurious," and you will agree as you relish your own pool with views of the Ayung River and an overwhelming oneness with nature in this place of reflection, healing and serenity.

Cooking class: Great cooking experience with a chef

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

We booked the cooking class offered at the one of the restaurants located in the resort. It was provided with a professional chef from the restaurant who has various knowledge about Indonesian and Balinese cuisine. It took place at the open air-kitchen, which is nice to learn the traditional way to cook. He showed the fresh herbs and vegetables throughout the organic garden and we were happy to know how it grows since these are something can not be found in our home country. We cook four tempe kare, chicken skewer, fish wrapped in banana leaves and the local sweets. All of them tasted very nice. We especially loved the handmade sambal source which was the best sambal we've ever got. At the end of class, we could have the dishes with the chef and enjoyed the talk with him. His instruction was done in English, clear and fun throughout the whole experience. Highly recommend to join if you're curious about the food culture and cooking.

A Tropical Paradise

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Our stay at the Pita Maha was magical. Waking up the first morning and opening the curtains to reveal a completely unobstructed view of the jungle out over our personal infinity pool was awe inspiring. The villas are the epitome of privacy and tranquility. To use the word lush to describe the grounds and the view into the valley is an understatement; everywhere you look is green and beautiful. The views from the restaurants are equally stunning to those from the villas. The two main restaurants attached to the lobby are both excellent but don't miss taking the walk down to the river to try Ayung Garden Restaurant. Above all of the beauty that Royal Pita has to offer the factor that made our stay the most pleasurable was the people. From the moment you arrive you are treated with warmth and hospitality. The entire staff are gracious and lovely. By the end of our stay we felt that we were treated like family.

Incredible Resort, encapsulating cultural Ubud!

As soon as I stepped foot into Pita Maha Resort, I felt an immediate sense of peace and tranquillity. I was amazed by the grandeur of the traditional Balinese decor and all the staff were so welcoming and friendly nothing was too much trouble for them. I stayed in a Royal Pool Villa and what an amazing stay (my pictures do not do it justice). Waking up to lie in my California king sized bed, drinking my coffee (ordered from 24 hr room service) and watch the sunrise with my balcony doors open wide, listening to the calming sounds of nature from the jungle below. The Bed was huge and very comfortable and great air con and. Water was replenished daily & I ordered from the room service three times during my stay, it always arrived on time. They offer a free yoga classes 8am-9am down at the pavillion next to the river, such as gorgeous setting to practice and lovely walk down. The shuttle service runs time three times a day, if you want to visit the town centre, it’s only a 15 min drive away, you can also easily catch a taxi. The best thing about the villa is THE POOL, it’s the perfect place to lie in the sun, go for a dip and order a cocktail & soak in those views. Pita maha is one of those resorts, rain or shine it doesn’t matter you will still have an amazing stay regardless of the weather, escape away from the hustle and bustle of busy ubud town centre it’s located in the most breathtaking setting. The perfect getaway on my own, thanks Pita Maha and all the staff for an unforgettable stay, I will be back! :)

Unique location and excellent facilities and accommodation, polite and attentive staff service, the most tasteful dinner in Ubud, five-star spa specialized in Balinese massage. Wonderful for couples! Experience that surpassed our expectations 🙏🏼

Royal Pita Maha was by far the highlight of our accommodations in Bali. The grounds were beautiful and the rooms graciously appointed. A perfect evening was spent on our villa balcony sipping a lovely sauvignon blanc as the sun slipped away behind the resort and a cool breeze reminded us of why we prefer the inland mountains to the coast. The staff was friendly, attentive and professional. They truly went above and beyond to assure that we will return to Ubud and Royal Pita Maha again.

We just returned from Bali and during our trip we stayed four nights at the Royal Pita Maha using a package we purchased through Luxury Link. What a fabulous place! Not only are the accommodations first class, but the service is outstanding. We've traveled all over the world and this is one of the best places we've ever stayed.

Royal Pita Maha in Bali was an amazing experience. The property is one of the most stunning we have ever experienced. The rooms are very large villas and each have a private infinity pool. The service was impeccable - the staff was warm, gentle and so attentive. Yoga by the river was so special. We spent almost 2 days just exploring the property. The grounds were stunning, food was wonderful and spa was the finest treatments we have ever enjoyed. The spa area is very private and takes place in a two story villa, a great couples retreat. Can't say enough good things about the property. Luxury Link visitors were considered very special and the extra services and amenities were a delight.
