Soori Bali in Bali, Indonesia

Surrounded by verdant fields and fronting a beach of ebony sands along the Indian Ocean, Alila Villas Soori is the newest resort to grace the Balinese coast. Located mere minutes from one of Bali's most hallowed sites, Tanah Lot Temple, the resort contains an enclave of multi-room villas with varying views. Strategically designed to make the most of its surroundings, each abode was created to complement nature and has its own pool, direct beach access, inner courtyards bathed in natural light, and al fresco pavilions for relaxing. Guests are privy to butler service, round-the-clock room service, wireless internet access throughout the resort, and sensual indoor/outdoor showers.

While it is perfectly plausible to want to stay sequestered behind the door of your own personal paradise, there are other elements to explore. The two-level restaurant, with its glass-walled kitchen, is unlike any other eatery you may have experienced. The menu is incredibly creative, and the collection of dining nooks - which includes terraces and balcony beds for an unconventional experience - definitely add verve to your meal. Aside from your private pool there is also an infinity-edge pool with sweeping ocean views that is available to all guests. You may want to lounge in a private cabana along the beach, replete with plush mattress and the services of a beach butler. The spa is another haven in which to indulge. Local villages are idyllic for getting a sense of the Balinese culture, including Abiantuwung which is known for its famed dance school where visitors can take lessons, and Kerambitan where the Royal Stable is found with its well-maintained horses. Enjoy a blissful paradise with every amenity imaginable at Alila Villas Soori.

We ended our Bali vacation with two days at Soori and it was fantastic. The property is absolutely breathtaking with infinity pools overlooking the ocean creating the visual effect of it all being connected. Even from the luxurious king bed in our villa, you look out the double doors immediately to the private pool which seems to blend right into the Indian Ocean! Meals were all incredible, whether in the villa or at either of the two restaurants. We took in 2 hour couple spa treatments and the spa is also something to experience. We also took the Segway tour of the neighboring village and rice paddies which was a great way to experience the quiet local culture of the town. Prices were higher here than other resorts we stayed at in Bali, for rooms, spa, food and drink, but it was certainly a 5 star experience!

First time in this resort and overall was pleased with the property. The exterior, landscaping and views were amazing. Our ocean view villa had spectacular views. Pool in the villa was relatively large. The interior of the villa unfortunately was not to my liking. The interior design was somehow not befitting the overall beauty of the place and seemed to be a tad tired. Some bathroom fittings were showing wear and tear. Be warned though that this property has nothing near or around it. If you want to venture out for a meal the closest is at least 30-35 mins away.

I highly recommend this paradise. Amazing architecture in full harmony with a nature. Very friendly, smart, emotionally intelligent team. The cuisine is superb- a great variety from western dishes to Indonesian. Very authentic calm place. Thank God away from crazy night life!

A really stunning hotel in a completely unassuming area. The hotel grounds are immaculate, the rooms feel private and secluded. The service and cleanliness is some of the best we've ever experienced. When you stay here, you stay here - there's not much around, but that's kind of the point. I have to commend the head chef especially. We did the traditional pre-fixed Indonesian dinner one night, but there is one problem - my wife has a garlic allergy. When our server asked about allergies and discovered this, she went back to the kitchen to speak to the chef to see if there was anything he could do. For every single dish that had garlic (almost all of them), he made a special version of the dish just for my wife. We did not expect or ask for that level of service, but he insisted that he would be happy to accommodate her needs. The meal was amazing, and it made her feel so special that the chef would do that for her. The black sand beach that the hotel sits on is my favorite beach I have ever been to. Outstanding sunsets, shimmering soft black sand, and tons of unique seashells. The only problem is that the beach is not swimmable because of the tides. The private pool in the room was really awesome, but my only complaint is that the water was too cold. I get that it's 90 degrees+ outside, but I still like my pool water to be on the warm side.
