Reviews for Villa Semana
We had a wonderful time at Villa Semana. The staff was kind and helpful, our villa was well-appointed and overlooked a small, tiered rice paddy. We went in December so it was a little too cold to enjoy our private plunge pool or the hotel's infinity pool but we didn't feel like we were missing out at all. They also provided a fruit basket that was replenished daily. We hired one of their drivers for a half day to take us to a few sites and also took a cooking class. We were the only ones participating in the class so it was a very intimate, hands-on experience. They took us to a market, explained the different foods, stopped at a spice merchant (who had her spiel down to sell spices!), and back to the hotel for our class. My friend said uber was a thing in Bali but we could never get anyone to pick us up anywhere so the free hotel shuttle definitely came in handy. The hotel is located a little outside of town and if they don't have other guests that need to be dropped off in town, they accommodated us by dropping us where we needed to go. We went when the volcano was going off so occupancy was quite low. I've never written a TripAdvisor review before but am now since I hope it will help others make the decision to stay at Villa Semana. I don't want to see the place close down! A magnificent gem of a hotel!

What a fabulous place to stay, relax, and unwind. We visited when many tourists had canceled due to fears regarding the volcanic eruptions. Since Ubud was outside the danger zone and we knew alternative transportation existed if the airport was closed, we decided not to cancel our 4-night stay. Villa Semana is thoughtfully designed, artfully built, and impeccably maintained. Our personal villa with plunge pool, living room space opening to the out-of-doors and outdoor shower was a complete delight for those of us from northern, wintry climates. Lovely touches such as carved wooden doors, mosquito net bed canopy, and well-crafted tasteful furniture further added to our experience. The food at the restaurant was varied and of excellent quality. We ate breakfast (included in our room rate) as well as dinner there. We loved the made to order fresh squeezed juice drinks and lamb curry. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful. While the hotel provided a convenient free shuttle to Ubud, we opted to hire one of their drivers to help us with errands one day, and later for a full day tour in the countryside. We also availed ourselves of their very reasonably priced and much appreciated airport transport service. We couldn’t have been more pleased. This is a gem of a place to stay in Ubud, and we would stay there again in a heartbeat.

We had a fantastic 3 nights' stay with a group of friends at Semana Villa Resort. The resort offers Balinese-style villas with beautiful views of the padi fields and Ayung river in the mountains. Apart from the amazing surrounding views and clear fresh air, the resort has beautiful landscapes with lots of rustic greeneries and nature. Food at the resort restaurant was good and with lots of choices. Morning forest/nature walk organized by the resort was interesting and informative. We had some relaxation massage and spa time at the resort as well. It is also a perfect place for star-gazing and fire flies watching in the night. Staff were very friendly, helpful and always full of smiles. Special thanks to the resort manager Ms Ayu and her staff for their attentive service throughout our stay. We enjoyed our stay and the warm hospitality at Semana Villa Resort. It is certainly a beautiful, tranquil and relaxing place for holiday in Ubud, Bali.
Perfect in every way: environment surrounded, food, rooms, SPA, and most importantly extremely nice staff. It's such an experience staying here that we keep on coming back in this memory after almost 3 years.
