Reviews for Villa Semana
The wife and I planned on our honeymoon to Bali and spent a LOT of time trying to find the perfect resort that would be ideal for both relaxing & romance with adventure & fun. The Villa Semana was the perfect choice. Upon arrival we were so pleased to learn that this was a resort with only a few private villas (Around 10 we believe). This created an intimate, private experience; we didn't run into any other guests so it felt like we had the whole resort to ourselves. The staff was beyond friendly and always willing to accommodate us with whatever we needed; whether it was a cocktail, a late night snack, a ride into downtown Ubud, or giving us a private tour of Bali. They were happy we were there. The resort was absolutely gorgeous. The room we reserved had a private pool (highly suggest), an open living room, a private bedroom and very large bathroom (indoor) with an outdoor shower (amazing). When we walked into the room, you found yourself walking through a gorgeous entrance, where you're greeted with a coy pond leading to your private living room. Our private pool looked over a gorgeous hilled rice field. At night, the sounds of nature put us to sleep, as well as the occasional light rain shower. None of the rooms have TV (Which we loved, being on a honeymoon making it more romantic). The rest of the resort was perfect. My wife's only request of the resort we book was that it had to have an infinity pool overlooking a jungle; Villa Semana has the most gorgeous view in its pool; right next to the restaurant, so ordering a cocktail while enjoying the pool was heaven. The food was good; we had our breakfast delivered to our room every morning. Our suggestion is to do the Bali-style meals as the "Western" style meals were typical. Also, ask for toast too! They make their own jams and juices here. The apple juice and orange juice were like nothing you've ever tasted. We didn't experience much of the dinners or lunches, as we were exploring the city, but what we had was delicious. We also did a spa day with the resort, and a yoga day. Both were excellent. Yoga overlooked a river and had a gorgeous view. The Spa was under construction, and normally riverside which sounded amazing. However, the experience was enjoyable even though it was indoors. One thing to note about the Villa Semana, or any resort like this, is that because you're in the middle of nature, yes, you'll have the occasional gecko or frog visitor. The bedroom we did not experience any intruders, as the staff reminds you to keep your doors closed. Also, because of it's private location and romantic atmosphere, it's suited towards adults, not necessarily families with children (a major plus for our romantic getaway) The location is central to Bali, and because there isn't a freeway system, traveling can take time, so plan accordingly. All of the activities we reserved through other services came and picked us up. But if you haven't reserved anything, the staff can take care of it for you (But I suggest doing your homework to find the best deals before you travel and reserve ahead of time). In conclusion, this was a honeymoon resort to remember. We loved every bit of this place and our time here.

We had a wonderful time at the Villa Semana. Beautiful scenery, very nice Spa and good food. Although it is rather on the expensive side we really enjoyed our stay here. Its very calm and relaxing, you can definitely forget the hustle and bustle from the busy streets. The hotel is a 15min car-ride from the center of Ubud, but the hotel provides a Shuttle Service. Do not forget that you are in a very natural surrounding (which is amazing, if you like it). There are a lot of "active" Crickets during the night. We really liked the "privat concert" tough, it was very soothing. Don't forget the insect repellent. For someone who wants to get away from all kind of chaos and civilisation, and for someone who wants to have his own little paradise, I think this is one of the places to go to.
My husband and I came here for our honeymoon and had such an incredible experience! Our room overlooked the jungle and had its own infinity pool, and all for an unbelievable price! The hotel food was also delish!
The staff at this boutique hotel are adorable, friendly and so welcoming that it made for a very pleasant trip. The waiting staff at the restaurant were first-class, so attentive, and the food was excellent. A lot of effort and thought going into things. Finally, on the day we left, the car was waiting to take us to the airport, with petals at our feet, a staff team to wave us off, and a bag with a lovely gift in it. I was very impressed, indeed!

Stayed here for 2 nights and I must say, the stay went beyond my expectations. The property is well kept - very clean, spacious, lovely trimmed gardens and rosters to wake you up in the morning. Service staff is impeccable and I especially enjoyed the local Indonesian food selection offered. Thank you to the Villa Semana team for taking care of me and making my Ubud experience so memorable!
