We booked our stay at W Bali – Seminyak through American Express Fine Hotels + Resorts (FHR) and were delighted to receive a wonderful upgrade to an ocean-view room, setting a high standard for our getaway. Our room was situated on the fifth and top floor right beside the suites, boasting a charming view overlooking Potato Head Beach Club. One of the features we particularly admired was the distinctive bathroom design, which featured transparent glass in the ceiling allowing natural light to filter through harmoniously. Furthermore, our private terrace proved to be an invaluable retreat. Watching people stroll their dogs along the beach during the early morning hours, followed by unwinding under a starry night sky with a beverage ordered via room service in the evening, provided simple yet unforgettable pleasures. Breakfast at Starfish Bloo consistently met our expectations, accompanied by the notably warm and attentive demeanor of the entire team. In particular, Angga left a lasting impression with a bright, genuine smile each morning. Being recognised from the previous day and greeted warmly upon arrival added a deeply personal touch to the experience. Prior to enjoying our first proper breakfast, a receptionist at the venue kindly escorted us around the various food stations. This thoughtful guidance proved exceptionally helpful in acquainting us with the layout and ensuring a comfortable start to the morning. An unexpected and heartwarming incident occurred at the breakfast venue concerning our child’s two cherished toy cat companions. Having inadvertently left them behind at the table, we remained entirely unaware of the loss throughout the day while engaging in other activities. It was only by late afternoon that we suddenly realised they were missing. Upon rushing back to the restaurant in a state of some anxiety, we were immensely relieved to discover that the staff had safely and carefully looked after them. We cannot thank them enough for their thoughtful care in safeguarding such a precious item. As dusk fell, we returned to Starfish Bloo for a delightful evening meal. Savouring dishes such as barramundi and butterflied prawns while taking in the magnificent golden-hour views created a wonderfully romantic atmosphere, perfectly complementing the exceptional food. While strolling near the main pool, we caught a glimpse of Alune, the newly opened venue replacing Woobar. The sight of team members working enthusiastically to put the finishing touches in place ahead of the afternoon service radiated a vibrant and industrious energy. Even during the height of the midday heat, the W Lounge in the lobby offered a tranquil oasis. Overlooking the pool area, it provided a breezy and pleasant environment to relax and enjoy a complimentary welcome drink. The majority of our leisure time was spent by the main pool. It proved ideally suited for families with children, offering an abundance of sun loungers. Additionally, the surrounding Wet Deck area featured plenty of seating, contributing to the resort’s lively yet relaxed ambience. The perfection of our stay at W Bali – Seminyak was largely attributable to the genuine warmth and exceptional service provided by the staff. In particular, D’s attentive care and friendly greetings whenever our paths crossed made our time here remarkably special. The thoughtfulness demonstrated throughout our visit left a lasting impression that we shall cherish long after our departure. Ultimately, thanks to the wonderful pool facilities, breathtaking ocean views, and above all, the sincere hospitality shown by the team, we left W Bali – Seminyak with wholly positive and treasured memories. My stay at W Hotel Bali was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality that made me feel truly special. The staff went above and beyond to ensure every detail of my visit was personalized, creating the most memorable birthday celebration I could have imagined. The atmosphere is vibrant yet relaxing, and every corner of the property feels thoughtfully designed. What stood out most was the friendliness and attentiveness of the team — they anticipated my needs before I even asked and made me feel like a valued guest throughout my stay. Celebrating my birthday here was unforgettable, with thoughtful touches that made the day feel magical. It’s rare to find a place where luxury meets such heartfelt service, but W Hotel Bali delivers exactly that. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an exceptional experience in Bali. Whether it’s for a special occasion or simply to indulge in a getaway, W Hotel Bali is the perfect choice.

Wow! What an amazing place. We stayed for 8 days at the W and cannot say enough good things about it and above all the staff. Our rooms were spacious and fantastically well equipped, huge bathrooms and an equally well appointed balcony. Breakfast was a highlight every day with a huge amount of food to choose from plus cooked breakfast which was brought to you by the smiling staff. By the pool we were spoilt with a man even coming to clean your glasses, plus complimentary juices brought round. The hotel is stunning - decor fabulous and staff the best I have come across. Well done! 10/10 we miss you all already.

The W Bali has tremendous potential, and the best part of the property is unquestionably the staff. Everyone was genuinely kind and attentive. This morning at breakfast I met Idid—I may have the spelling wrong—and he was exceptional. The staff consistently checked on me throughout my stay to make sure I was enjoying myself, sometimes almost too often, but I appreciated the effort and genuine hospitality. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience did not match the people or the price. The food was consistently disappointing and rarely inviting enough to keep me on property. My room had stained furniture, the shower wand attached to the tub didn’t work, and even the welcome fruit—while a nice gesture—arrived without cutlery. At the FIT gym, the cold plunge (inside) was warm, and the outdoor water dispenser produced warm water from the cold tap. The biggest issue for me was pricing. I compared the hotel’s car service with readily available local options and found the W’s pricing to be roughly 425% to 625% higher. I raised this with a manager and was told they would find me a better price. That never happened, and the original amount I had objected to was ultimately placed on my bill. For what I received, I honestly cannot say this stay represented either luxury or value. I’ll be back in Bali in January, but I will not be returning to the W. Unfortunately for Marriott, the other hotels I’m considering are not Marriott properties. The people at the W Bali deserve a property experience that is as good as they are.
