The Leela Palace Bengaluru

My family spent a night at the Leela Palace Blr. The hotel is still one of the best - each & every member of the staff wants to make your stay memorable. The building itself is starting to age and the fact that the hotel decides to conduct "maintenance" during peak hours over the weekend is interesting - the noise of the drill machines did not help !! I cannot say the same about the food though - the quality & taste of food has gone down several notches. While I understand that the hotel caters to a wide variety of international guests, the Indian / local food cannot be modified or "fusioned" to a point where it does not deliver either the taste or the experience

It’s perfect for a business traveler. Not so much for a family. Lack of personal touch and very average breakfast. Food at zen was the highlight of my stay.

Second visit, better than the first. Service is top notch. Housekeeping left several gifts during my stay including a bookmark and incense sticks. Shoutout to Ashma, Ribia, Camella and Glasby.

I'll start with the positives. Incredible flower arrangements in the lobby, large rooms and luxurious and comfortable beds and pillows (first time I have every seen a "pillow menu" with at least 10 different kinds of pillows you can request based on your needs (this to me is huge because I am a pillow snob!). An absolute amazing delicious buffet breakfast-I would go so far to say the best I've ever had in any hotel around the world and the staff are all wonderful, helpful and kind. I would recommed either not staying on a weekend during wedding season or asking if a wedding reception is happening. In our case, we were there on a weekend and two wedding receptions were taking place so there was literally no place in any of the sitting areas to have some peace and quiet, not at the pool either, not even our room, which otherwise was a quiet room located in a good quiet area of the hotel but due to the parties we could hear them in our room as well. Also to note, we had an electrical issue where the lights turned on in the middle of the night in our bathroom while we were sleeping and after repeatedly turning them off, only for them to automatically turn on again we finally had to get an electrician in our room at midnight the first night and again the 2nd night. The second night they were in our room for about 30-40 minutes around 9:30PM. For this I think we should have been compensated. The only other constructive advice I would give is I wish they would allow you to control the temperature below 20 degree Celsius at night as my daughter and I were both hot sleeping. I will end on a positive note and reiterate that every single one of the staff that we encountered whether at the reception desk, the lobby or the breakfast area was very warm and welcoming and tried to do everything they could to ensure we had a good stay.

Team housekeeping ( Dhawal, Lazen, Samdakaru) was amazing with cleanliness and friendliness. Room was neat and well maintained. Would visit again for sure.
