Best Hotel Resort Experience, Ever

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

I've been to a lot of places in this world, but nothing has come close to the Leela Palace in Bengaluru on Old Airport Rd. First, the ambience, charm and overall look and feel of the resort is top notch. The lobby, with it's ornate decor and lush flowers just screams tranquility. And as a surprise, each morning there are a few musicians playing local music that filled up the lobby with incredible music. The food was out-of-this-world. I had my best and favorite moments with the staff at the buffet, which was my preferred meal location regardless of the time of day. The food was exceptional and always top-notch, both veg and non-veg. Make sure you order and try the South-Indian style coffee for breakfast, but the Americanos were just perfect. I want to personally thank some staff that made my time at the buffet absolutely incredible: Shubhankar (Shub), Purbyan, Mohit and Sharon (one of the chefs). I had such a great time engaging with them, whether it was for a late breakfast or dinner, we always had fantastic conversations that I will cherish. They made the stay and each meal, memorable and I cannot thank them enough for helping me to understand their culture and cuisine. The king room was perfect and it felt like home. Wonderfully kept, high end textiles and bedding, and an oversized bathroom with walk-in shower and a separate soaking tub and a private water closet. Turn down service and room service were used extensively. I was also very pleased to have a unlimited supply of Darjeeling tea and a kettle that were refreshed daily (other flavors like English Breakfast, Assam and Early Gray also provided). Bottles of water were provided and refreshed daily for 1) the tea kettle 2) on each nightstand 3) in the bathroom. I believe we used about 6 bottles of water per day in our room and we never had to call for more - and these are complementary. I spent a lot of time in the fitness center, which has everything you will need. Many days I would use the sauna and oversized whirlpool in the men's locker room (each locker room has it's own features). They also had a steam room which I did not use as well as a full service spa, which I did not use. There are lockers for you to store belongings which was a nice feature. I spent a few afternoons out at the pool, but it was the end of the rainy season so not much sunshine to rave about. Overall, the pool is nice but pretty normal, all things considered. The lounge chairs were very comfortable, and the service from the pool staff was also top-notch, always making sure you had what you needed to enjoy your afternoon. The location of the Leela Palace is also perfect, being within walking distance to the very busy shopping area of Indiranagar. The walk takes about 20 minutes and you'll find all the brands such as United Colors Of Benetton, Adidas, Birkenstock, etc as well as many local brand stores (Soch, Bombay Shirt Co, Rare Rabbit, etc). There are just so many places to eat and shop in this little area adjacent to the resort that I never had to take an Uber to go anywhere else. I can honestly say that my first stay here at Leela Palace Bengaluru was something I will remember forever. Everything is just top notch and I have no complaints over the course of my 15 night stay. But aside from the grandeur of the Palace, along with the architecture, textiles and daily floral arrangements, nothing beats the warmth and hospitability of the people I met there. The staff were authentic, genuine and cared - and it showed, every single day. Thank you all.

Wonderful

Stayed for a night with family to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Its a great place to celebrate special day. From the check in to check out, everything was just perfect. Hotel- It is one of the best palace hotels in India. Very thoughtfully designed. You must take the Art tour (5-6 pm). Thanks to Ms Rose for explaining us the history behind this hotel. It was really interesting. There is a little forest inside the Hotel and the artificial waterfall is a great place to take some good pictures! Room- They have upgraded us to a very nice and big suite. Kids enjoyed a lot. The suite has a big living room, two washrooms with a large bathtub and a small room for kitchenette. Infact, the balcony of the suite was bigger than the room! Thanks Leela team for lovely flowers, the tasty birthday cake, cookies and soft toys for kids. Restaurant- They serve buffet food at their Citrus restaurant. Breakfast was great but dinner buffet could have been better. They need to improve the restaurant service also. Service- All the staff were very polite and truly tried to help us whenever required. Room service was prompt and housekeeping people were very efficient. Tips for future travellers- - Only table lamps and floor lamps were there in the entire suite. No, ceiling or wall lights were there. So, if you like room with full light, tell them your preference before check in. - I have seen people waiting for breakfast table. So, try to have breakfast by 9 am. My special thanks to Ms Ritu Khare (EAM rooms) for taking care of everything well before our checkin. A big thanks to Ms Deepali Buddhivant (Guest Experience Manager) for helping us throughout our stay. I want to thank Mr. Madhav Sehgal (General Manager). You have such a great team. Thank you Leela Palace Bangalore team for proving us a memorable stay. Will be back soon.
