If ever there was a way to compromise between cultural intrigue of Bangkok’s bustling streets and a relaxing retreat to one of Thailand’s coastal destinations, this is it: Anantara Bangkok Riverside Resort & Spa, a 400-room resort that presides over the city’s main aquatic artery. Chill out in dense tropical gardens at the edge of one of the largest outdoor pools in Bangkok before a day on the town, returning to a room outfitted in Thai silks and warm hardwoods.

I am a AVC member and my review is based on my expectations of Anantara-owned properties. I stayed at this resort many years ago when it was under a different hotel brand and this was my first time staying here under Anantara brand. The riverside location and the building architecture on a beautifully landscaped and well-maintained green ground with lots of trees, flowers, shades and Thai decorations give this resort a very welcoming sense of peace and relaxation as soon as you step off the complimentary shuttle boat, across the other side of the river and busy and bustling Bangkok. The river view room was spacious with nice decoration and amenities. The twin double-beds were very comfortable for a good sleep quality. All the areas of the resort were well maintained and kept very clean. The buffet breakfast was very tasty had many choices including Asian and western dishes, healthy food options and many kind of fresh fruit juices. The resort has many restaurants of different cuisines including a dinner cruise which was very nice. The resort is also connected to a shopping mall containing more restaurants, convenience store, shops and its sister hotel, Avani, The pool was nice and large with a large number of sun deck chairs, and shades. There was a small kids club with daily activities. Excellent services from all the staff. I stayed at many hotels in Bangkok and this resort is definitely one of the best ones!

The hotel is good, located at one hour from the airport and bit far from the city center but with a free facility of a boat to get to the other side of the town

Amazing property and even better service. Don’t miss it if you are in bkk. Great location too and direct connection to the metro via the hotel boat ✌🏻

We stayed here for 3 nights in May 2024. The country was in the middle of a heatwave with temperatures of 40 degrees during the day and mid 30s at night. The hotel air conditioning was not able to keep the rooms cool. Our Thia speaking guide queried why the rooms were so hot and was told the Hotel set the minimum room temperature to 24 degrees even though the unit displayed 17 degrees. The hotel promised they would resolve the issue, but after a further night of little sleep, we were informed the system is water-based and not able to cope with the high external temperatures. The remainder of the hotel is quite nice and the staff are lovely, but that is all of little importance if no sleep can be achieved. I don't know if android temperature apps work, but the photo was what I recorded
