Overall OK but nothing special

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Visited here for the first leg of our Thailand holiday. We were upgraded to a 2 bed suite, which was lovely as we arrived way before we could check in. The room was huge & very spacious but definitely not a 5 star, the bathroom was quite dirty, panels were broken, there was also a horrible smell. We were only staying 2 nights so it didn’t matter. The pool was lovely & clean. Prices were very expensive compared to Bangkok & you get charged service charge even for a croissant! Overall it was fine, the staff were OK but some looked put out when you asked for anything. It was quite out of the way, so we found ourselves getting Grabs/ TukTuk/ SkyTrain. Probably a lot better in Bangkok for similar price

Bangkok is terrific and so is the JCK

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

My wife and I didn't know quite what to expect before checking in because of the variety of reviews. All I can do is tell you we had a WONDERFUL time. The staff is professional and on point. The food is very good, from the plentiful and various breakfast items at the breakfast buffet, to the all you can eat dim sum each evening. The Zoom rooftop bar gives a spectacular 360 degree view of Bangkok. The JC Kevin is a short taxi ride to the main shopping malls (MBK and Siam) and not far from the Grand Palace, which is a must see. A special shout out to our favorite concierge, TU. We look forward to retuning to Bangkok and seeing you again friend!

Highly recommend

My husband and I arrived about 9 am after traveling 24 hours from Miami. I was nervous about the hotel having read some scathing reviews. Thankfully, we had no issues. We were heeeted by a lovely front desk staff who allowed us an early check-in. We are on the 30th floor in a nice, if minimalistic clean suite with 2 small balconies. The bed is great, water pressure is good. It was quiet. Our breakfast was included and was an excellent dim sum. I’m writing from next to the beautiful pool. The rooftop base, Zoom, is a must-see. I’ll acknowledge that the carpets in the hall need a good cleaning, but if that’s your complaint at this price point, I’d say you’re winning! Highly recommend!

Grubby

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Really friendly and welcoming however rooms very scuffed and in need of new carpets and deep clean. Felt grubby we had to get maintenance to fix the shower and the sofa in the living room was ripped and frayed. Needs allot of investment to take up to spec. Great space though booked a huge 2 bed apartment room and for the space it was cheap. Wouldn’t return better options out there

Not a 5 star and nowhere anything near a 5 star hotel. Needs a total refurb - awful

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

I’m not sure where these other people stayed whilst giving high scores for a hotel, but this was certainly NOT and nowhere near a 5 star hotel. On arrival for our stay, the door staff couldn’t even say hello which I found odd. Then as we went to the check in desk at reception, i was met with grumpy people just seemed stressed and not happy at all….not a good start. However this was nothing compared to going to our room. The cases took over an hour to come to our room which wasn’t great as we were due to go out. When i spoke to reception they just said they would be there soon. When we called the lift, we stepped into it and the lift actually dropped about 2cm so never even stayed level and they were playing awful music on a tv screen showing two gay men kissing at a rave party - so they were trying to promote their parties. Glad i never had children seeing that. When the doors opened to our floor, all i can say is that i thought i had gone back in time looking at really outdated decor that had not been properly cleaned for years. My room was even worse. I had to get someone from maintenance to help me get in my room because the key card wasn’t working correctly and when i got in, i thought someone was pulling a joke on me. What a dive! Firstly i can only say that this place was filthy. You can see the cleaners had cleaned the floor but nothing else in years. I have attached a picture on how dirty the net curtains were - yuk. The furniture and decor was like something a hotel had about 30 years ago with pictures on the walls only being held on by the thread of the picture, dirty, grimy doors to the showers, carpets that were torn, marked and thread-bear, chips out of the walls, and an air conditioning unit that sounded like it was falling down he stair. I had to call reception and the maintenance guy arrived stating that it was broken (it actually looked like it hadn’t been replaced since the hotel was built). The reception moved us and again i was totally disgusted at the room. The same issue with carpet and nets etc, the sofa was so dirty that i wouldn’t let an animal on it (if i had one) and the bathroom sink was gross with dirty chrome and grouting. In the hallways, the decor is so dark and dreary that you feel depressed just walking around and they staff have closed the blinds to the views just so you don’t see the totally filthy windows that haven’t been washed in lots of years. The only reason i never gave this a two star was because the sky bar offered a great view and the location of hotel is good. This hotel needs a complete refurb in all areas and i certainly wouldn’t recommend this at all in the state it is in.
