Banyan Tree Bangkok in Bangkok, Thailand

There’s something to be said for a 21st-story outdoor swimming pool, but Banyan Tree Bangkok is not just a vertical resort. Situated in one of Southeast Asia’s most dynamic cultural centers, amidst the best retail and entertainment, this is a headquarters of sophistication. It even offers a “shopping companion” to guide you through the city’s alleyways. And with its aromatherapy burner, even your room is a journey for the senses. The restaurant’s 53rd-floor restaurant Taihei serves sake and sashimi in the clouds, and everyone from concierge to massage therapist extends the hospitality for which Thailand is known.

Indulge in a breakfast of banana pancakes and a traditional Thai coffee, sweetened with condensed milk. Energized, visit Bangkok’s Grand Palace, the home of Thailand’s president, and stroll through the famous Buddhist temple Wat Pho, home of the giant Reclining Buddha. On your way to the river, you’ll only need a couple dozen baht to enjoy the street food: chicken satay, mango sticky rice, roast pork belly or a shell of coconut milk. Board Banyan Tree’s own “Aspara” riverboat and enjoy an elegant dinner of crab in coconut broth as you see the traditional floating markets in action.

We stayed for three nights at the Banyan Tree before flying to Laos for a couple of weeks. We were in Bangkok last year so didn't feel the need to run around as much as usual to see the sights. It was our intention to enjoy the hotel stay and that we did. This is a beautiful hotel, we had a club room on the 57th floor. It was spacious and well fitted out, the view was fab. We used the drinks and canape hours in the evening well and enjoyed a breakfast and afternoon tea there too. Excellent service everywhere in the hotel, very friendly and accommodating and smiles from all. We loved sitting by the pool and were impressed with the small touches that were provided to help you feel comfortable - ice cold water, cold towels, fruit. We had a couples massage in the spa which was incredible. We breakfasted in the main restaurant for some variety and found it well organised and food good. We drank in the high floor bars and loved the views. Last year we stayed in the Chatrium Riverside which was really brilliantly placed for getting around BKK. The Banyan Tree didn't feel as easy to access the river etc but we were happy to be more chilled out and I know the hotel runs guests to the MRT and to the market. Taxis are cheap and plentiful so sure it's easy enough. We just can't really comment on it. When we did use taxis this was well organised by hotel. A perfect stay in a wonderful hotel in a city we love. Looking forward to staying at other Banyan Tree hotels in other countries.

Very nice stay at this hotel. Room upgrade was fine at top floor as requested. Roof restaurant offers splendid views of the city. The restaurant is quite expensive though. You have also several other, Thai, Chinese and Japanese restaurants. Swimming pool offers nice views as well. Overall a very nice experience. Will return there.

I took my mum away for a couple of days and we both loved it. The staff were amazing and went out of their way to help us. I bought a mirror from a market and the concierge packaged it up for me so it was plane-worth. The hotel is beautiful and I would highly recommend it

Great food and bar on the premises that warrant a visit. Awesome lighting and a real festive atmosphere. The view is awesome. The staff is very welcoming. Yes, it is pricey ...but it is fun and a great way to kick off a visit to Thailand.
