Banyan Tree Bangkok in Bangkok, Thailand

There’s something to be said for a 21st-story outdoor swimming pool, but Banyan Tree Bangkok is not just a vertical resort. Situated in one of Southeast Asia’s most dynamic cultural centers, amidst the best retail and entertainment, this is a headquarters of sophistication. It even offers a “shopping companion” to guide you through the city’s alleyways. And with its aromatherapy burner, even your room is a journey for the senses. The restaurant’s 53rd-floor restaurant Taihei serves sake and sashimi in the clouds, and everyone from concierge to massage therapist extends the hospitality for which Thailand is known.

Indulge in a breakfast of banana pancakes and a traditional Thai coffee, sweetened with condensed milk. Energized, visit Bangkok’s Grand Palace, the home of Thailand’s president, and stroll through the famous Buddhist temple Wat Pho, home of the giant Reclining Buddha. On your way to the river, you’ll only need a couple dozen baht to enjoy the street food: chicken satay, mango sticky rice, roast pork belly or a shell of coconut milk. Board Banyan Tree’s own “Aspara” riverboat and enjoy an elegant dinner of crab in coconut broth as you see the traditional floating markets in action.

After the long flight from London we were looking forward to a pick me up!..well the welcome was excellent (we booked club rooms) so had a separate check in (highly recommended) and our huge luxurious bedroom was on the 56th floor! part of the club room deal there are free drinks between certain times and afternoon tea which was really mentioned in other reviews the swimming pool is a bit disappointing but that is made up by the Vertigo bar on the roof...that is fantastic and worth the price and is a must!

The hotel itself is not as good as some of the other Banyan Trees and it is certainly not as new as some of the other hotels in Bangkok at this price range, but it is still an excellent hotel nonetheless. The rooms are spacious, the location is convenient and the hotel quality overall is very good. The key selling point of this hotel is the service - the staff are all very courteous and the service is excellent. Guest relations is available at all times and very helpful. The hotel also provides complimentary Muay Thai classes that you can sign up for. The Muay Thai instructor, Chohchai, is extremely good and professional as well. I would fully recommend going to the Muay Thai classes if it is available!

We have stayed in Bangkok many times but first time here. Lovely hotel, nice lounge and great rooms. We have just been for a quick swim and had a very unexpected, complimentary massage from Jirapong P who was wonderful and we will certainly have a treatment while we are here!

Banyan Tree is an excellent hotel, I stayed an extra day since I liked it so much. I loved the reception as I checked in and the kind gestures the staff extended. The various restaurants were all very good, I tried 4 of them however they are quite pricey (~$250.00 for drinks and a couple appetizer in the Garden Bar for 2 people one night). If you stay more than 2 days and enjoy a few drinks it would be a good idea to pay extra for the lounge access The rooms are large and luxurious. I enjoyed a bath in the room and the turn down service was great. I went to the spa (I will write separate review) and it was one of the best experiences I have had. There are two things that could be improved upon.. - the taxi situation is not well organized and I had trouble 3 times getting a taxi outside and spent more than 30 minutes waiting because I was told they called a taxi for me only to find out that they did not. - the pool was not as nice as other 5 stars in the area such as W or Okura

I think the hotel is relatively old in terms of the room hardware. However, I really enjoyed the muay Thai session with coach Badminton as he studied sports science and has very good knowledge about fitness.
