There’s something to be said for a 21st-story outdoor swimming pool, but Banyan Tree Bangkok is not just a vertical resort. Situated in one of Southeast Asia’s most dynamic cultural centers, amidst the best retail and entertainment, this is a headquarters of sophistication. It even offers a “shopping companion” to guide you through the city’s alleyways. And with its aromatherapy burner, even your room is a journey for the senses. The restaurant’s 53rd-floor restaurant Taihei serves sake and sashimi in the clouds, and everyone from concierge to massage therapist extends the hospitality for which Thailand is known.

It's a beautiful hotel, we really enjoyed our stay. The rooms are huge and the staff a really lovely. A special mention for Diamond and Nine in the Club Lounge, had an incredible massage with Tik, highly recommend getting one, and Nam Fun in the Saffron restaurant offer excellent service. I would definitely stay here again!

I’ve spent most of my career travelling around the world staying in some very nice hotels. That’s why I now have to place the Banyan Tree (in Bangkok) at the top of my list. This is one of the world’s true five star hotels. Classic in a slightly understated way. With views of Bangkok, from the top floors, that are simply breathtaking. The hotel must be quite old now but everything is of such good quality and so well kept that it just feels very elegant. Staff are super efficient, very respectful and only interested in making your life easier. From the moment you enter the reception everything becomes effortless. You only have to ‘think’ something and the staff are already doing it. We stayed with some friends for a couple of days at the Banyan Tree and took advantage of the hotels special stay offer - I think it was called ‘100 Journeys’. This gave us access to the top floor suites, the exec lounge and a free one hour session at their spa, which is just sensational. The range of international food that was on offer for breakfast could only be described as an opulent feast! Of course no evening would be complete without a visit to the now famous Vertigo bar and restaurant, which is sitting right on the roof on an elevated floor with glass sides. This is not for the faint hearted but will be a talking point for years to come. The hotels location is pretty good with access to Wat Pho and the MBK shopping centre not far. However, any taxi ride in Bangkok can be a test of your patience. If you want to experience some really great Thai food outside the hotel there is little restaurant called ‘Naga’ just a short walk away.

The hotel was excellent, good size club rooms, with a great stylish bathroom, the club service was amazing with a good selection of food, the club staff were very helpful. We usually stay in the hotel next to the Banyan Tree which we love, but would come back to this hotel again for sure.
