Banyan Tree Bangkok in Bangkok, Thailand

There’s something to be said for a 21st-story outdoor swimming pool, but Banyan Tree Bangkok is not just a vertical resort. Situated in one of Southeast Asia’s most dynamic cultural centers, amidst the best retail and entertainment, this is a headquarters of sophistication. It even offers a “shopping companion” to guide you through the city’s alleyways. And with its aromatherapy burner, even your room is a journey for the senses. The restaurant’s 53rd-floor restaurant Taihei serves sake and sashimi in the clouds, and everyone from concierge to massage therapist extends the hospitality for which Thailand is known.

Indulge in a breakfast of banana pancakes and a traditional Thai coffee, sweetened with condensed milk. Energized, visit Bangkok’s Grand Palace, the home of Thailand’s president, and stroll through the famous Buddhist temple Wat Pho, home of the giant Reclining Buddha. On your way to the river, you’ll only need a couple dozen baht to enjoy the street food: chicken satay, mango sticky rice, roast pork belly or a shell of coconut milk. Board Banyan Tree’s own “Aspara” riverboat and enjoy an elegant dinner of crab in coconut broth as you see the traditional floating markets in action.

It was VIP treatment from the get go - we were given some flower armbands, and were invited to take a seat while a staff member processed our check in. We were invited to use the facilities (gym/pool/sauna) while we waited for our room to be prepared (we were a couple of hours early). Everywhere we turned, there was a staff member ever-ready to warmly greet us. The rooms were great! While you could guess the age of the renovation, it is very very well maintained. The exterior glass windows however are due to be cleaned. With the hotel spanning about 60 floors, there is a high chance you would get a good view from the room. The aromatherapy oil burner was a great surprise, and I enjoyed using it! I liked how they were very environmentally conscious - I did not miss the small details of paper sanitary bags, bottled mineral water and large ceramic shampoo/soap dispensers (instead of small plastic ones). I however did not like the smell of the shampoo/soap. A drawback would be its location, being far away from the BTS and MRT stations. From what I understand, the complimentary hourly tuk-tuk buggy ride out only seats 4 people. So it was challenging to get on if you do not pre-book your seats in advance. Getting to and from the hotel would therefore be a challenge during rush hour.

We had an excellent time in Bangkok and to top it off, a 5 star breakfast at the Banyan Tree Bangkok. You will find the food delious and the service top notch. No matter where you're from, you will find your favorite dish on the buffet or prepared especially for you by the Chef.

The Banyan Tree Bangkok is fantastic hotel. Iv'e stayed there many times and I'm still amazed at the care and attention they give every guest. The rooms and facilities are modern and comfortable - many amenities are available in the hotel: nice gym, pool, shopping and excellent restaurants. The restaurants are really a treat and worth a visit even if your not staying at the Banyan Tree. The Moon bar has a great view and excellent service staff, the recently remolded restaurant on the 52nd floor offers a relaxed and causal atmosphere with a unique "window" to view Bangkok. Other details - location is perfect for business or tourism - close to public transportation (MRT and BRT), easy walk to Lumpini park for exercise or relaxation. Its near many Embassies and businesses, but easy access to tourist sites. The hotel staff are great at helping with directions and recommendation - the hotel has a dinner cruise on the Chao Phraya as well. Its a complete package - including the great staff. I particularity appreciate the Executive Club lounge, a nice place to do work and to relax.

Excellent Hotel!! Friendly staff at all..Me and my husband stay at Horizon room at 40th floors. My new experience, the hotel service are very good, rooftop are awesome but you have to come early, if not no seat available. So many people on rooftop after midnight. Highly recommended for those whose want to honeymoon and to have fun with couple or friends. Mini bar price is reasonable, not too expensive. Will come again next visit to Bangkok :)

Dear Sir or Madam, We just visited Banyan tree hotels for 3 nights. The service is nice, staff is very friendly and helpful. Also the breakfast left an overall good impression, despite the fact that there was rarely any variation during the 3 days we stayed. The room (horizon class) was spacious and overall okay regarding cleanliness. However, the room appeared 15-20 years old/used. Overall a good hotel. However, regarding the value for the price I would consider booking a newer hotel next time I stay in Bangkok. Kind regards
