Riva Surya

Riva Surya Bangkok is a wonderful boutique-style hotel in an excellent location beside the Chao Phraya River. Although it is close to Khao San Road and many of Bangkok’s historic attractions, the hotel itself feels peaceful and relaxing. I stayed in a Premium Riva Room, which was spacious, comfortable and thoughtfully designed. The private balcony overlooking the river was one of the highlights of the room and provided a lovely place to sit and watch the boats go by. The bed was firm but still very comfortable, the pillows were excellent, and the blackout curtains did a very good job of keeping the room dark. The shower also had good water pressure and a comfortable temperature. The riverside swimming pool is attractive and creates a pleasant place to relax, especially later in the day. The food also did not disappoint. I enjoyed both the breakfast and dinner, and dining beside the river added considerably to the overall experience. Service throughout my stay was very good. Staff members were polite, attentive and professional, and I particularly noticed how they would step aside and greet guests properly when passing. Riva Surya may not be one of Bangkok’s largest hotels, but it offers a strong combination of comfort, service, food, atmosphere and location. This hotel genuinely packs a punch, and I would happily recommend it to travellers looking for a more personal riverside stay in Bangkok.

Perfect location! Kindest and most helpful staff. Nice rooms and pool. Really great breakfast buffet. I will most definitely recommend staying at Riva Surya Bangkok and I would love to stay there again if I return to Bangkok!

Fantastic hotel that is literally a 5 minute walk to the pier for boat connections (best way to travel in Bangkok) to all the main temples and shops. Room was exactly as advertised, and all the staff were so polite helpful and friendly.

We are having a wonderful stay at Riva Surya and the food has been superb. The Thai menu has been delicious, although the western options also look great. Tim, Prince, Fon and Bee have been amazing; they are effortlessly kind and welcoming, and really add to the spectacular setting next to the pool and alongside the river. We love it here and immediately recommend it to everyone :)

Fantastic location. On the river, only 10min drive to Grand Palace, wat Pho. Walking distance to street food markets and bustling night life. Staff attentive, polite. Swimming pool was great and open late so able to enjoy. Overall has an authentic character compared to generic brands.
