Riva Surya

We had a wonderful stay at Riva Surya Bangkok. Beautiful location on the river and the staff was very attentive and welcoming. Room was spacious and the pool was perfect end to a day of exploring. Especially liked the wonderful breakfast.

This is a good choice for a short stay, with a few caveats. It’s in a great spot, close to the public river ferry stop, and there are shops and cafes all around. I liked the ambience of the hotel, the common areas (bar, pool, etc.) and the staff is lovely. However, a major section of the pool area is paved with slippery tiles and is quite dangerous - one guest took a nasty fall while I was there. I would also not recommend eating at the hotel restaurant; the food was both underwhelming and overpriced. The room was decent, though the noise on the urban-view side is very loud if you leave the double veranda doors open (but fine with them closed), which means no fresh air. It’s probably better on the riverfront. On balance, it’s a good choice if you make the right decisions: eat out, get a riverview room, and wear nonslip footwear around the pool. And I wouldn’t recommend bringing young kids, as the entire outdoor area surrounds an unfenced pool with no lifeguard, and the fence along the river is not child-safe, either.

Cannot recommend Riva Surya more highly. This hotel was fantastic solace against the wildness of Bangkok. It's beautiful, calm, and the staff are absolutely lovely and kind. We loved it so much here that we added on an additional night. Thank you to the hospitality team at Riva Surya!

Great location on the river and easy access to the ferries. Attractive large rooms and lovely outside eating and drinking area.

otel offers a variety of great amenities, including a swimming pool. The staff were courteous and responsive, happily accommodating every request. The hotel is also suitable for those observing Jewish religious practices, as it is conveniently located right across from the Chabad House. Highly recommended!
