Situated in the perfect spot for exploring Bangkok's Old Town, the Riva Surya was absolutely fantastic. Right away, the staff was super friendly and made sure that we felt right at home. One of the first things we wanted to do upon arrival was to explore the city, Khao San Road, and exchange money. The staff gave us great directions and recommendations. The room was amazing; the view of the river and city was very nice and gave a great energy. It was clean and comfortable and great place to call "home" for a few days. The pool was very nice, as was the bar and restaurant, which served a variety of drinks and a great mixture of local and western food options. One of the best experiences we had during our whole trip through Vietnam and Thailand was a Tuk Tuk Street Food Tour, which the location of the hotel made for a perfect pick up spot. It's also very well situated for visiting the Grand Palace, Wat Arun, and many other sight seeing destinations. And, while a little pricier than other hotels, I would argue that, for what you get and where you get it, it's extremely competitive and well within reason.

I stayed here on December 9th and had a wonderful experience. Every single member of the staff—regardless of their role—was incredibly friendly and polite. The rooms were spotless and offered a beautiful view. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great service and a clean stay

I had a great time staying at Riva Surya Bangkok. The hotel locates in a prime location. It's within a 5-min walking distance to the Phra Arthit Pier (N13). I was able to escape BKK traffic by taking express & hop-on/hop-off boats to Wat Arun, Wat Phra Kaew, Grand Palace, ICONSIAM, Asiatique, and other famous/iconic places. With taking a few shortcuts, I got to Kansan Road without breaking a sweat (I was walking at nighttime). There was a day I walked from the Golden Mount temple to the hotel. It was a sweaty exercise and took about 40 mins to get from the highest point of temple back to the hotel lobby. I even walked to Wat Pho (temple of the Reclining Buddha) from the hotel. On some evenings, I'd walk to Khaosan Road and the nearby streets for street food and restaurants. I stayed in one of their Premium Riva rooms. The room is pretty spacious. The king size bed is big and soft. Every morning, I'd spend a few mins at the private balcony to breathe in some fresh air and admire the calmness of Chao Phraya river. There were days I got back to my room before the evening just to watch the sunset. What I can say is the view was spectacular. I feel like my review wouldn't be completed if I don't mention the awesomeness of the hotel staff, especially the front desk administrators and bell attendants. They're very professional, knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. Since I stayed there for 2 weeks, I had a chance to get to know each individual more or less. One thing I noticed, they worked well together like family. I think of them as the Avengers; I couldn't praise one without praising the others. Thanks to PIAOW (charming lady with long, curly hair) for giving me a warm welcome and saying goodnight with her lovely high-pitched voice. Thanks to MILA and PLAA for checking with me what I want for the in-room turndown treats. Thanks to HOBBIE for the handwritten welcome postcard & sharing with me her travel stories. Thanks to MODDANG for her high energy & a few late night conversations. Thanks to NICKY (the trainee) for always giving me a nice smile. Thanks to MAN for showing me how to get to places. Thanks to BOMB & BEER (delightful bell attendants) for all our personal chats. And a special thanks to Onanong (Reservation Manager) for offering me complimentary breakfasts. Without you, I'd be starving every morning. I'll definitely stay at Riva Surya hotel again. Hope to see all the members of Riva Surya Avengers on my next BKK trip.
