The Siam Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand
Board a private speedboat bound for The Siam Hotel at Saphan Taksin central pier and leave Bangkok’s chaos behind. This urban retreat – a property, part of the – is a one-of-a-kind marriage of traditional Thai culture and delicious Art Deco ornamentation designed by “Architectural Digest’s Top 100” recipient Bill Bensley and overseen by Krissada Sukosol Clapp, a Thai pop singer and actor who won the country’s equivalent of a Best Actor Oscar. The resort sits on three acres of riverfront land in the royal Dusit district and draws inspiration from Paris’s Musée d’Orsay. Guests are blanketed in tranquility in oversized suites teeming with antiques.
Rise early and call your butler for breakfast to be delivered to your suite. Take a walk along the Chao Phraya River. Join the resort’s guest practitioner for some breezy vinyasas on the outdoor yoga deck. Recline by the riverside infinity pool. Order a traditional Thai whiskey soda to sip poolside. Dine on homemade curries in a former private residence that entertained glitterati including Jackie Kennedy and John Rockefeller.

Reviews for The Siam Hotel
My husband , my brother and my sister-in-law and I recently had the good fortune to spend 3 nights in this exquisite hotel. We booked on line without having any personal knowledge of this hotel. We relied solely on the high reviews on Trip Advisor and we were not disappointed! Our expectations were far exceeded. This is a beautiful and tranquil respite from the chaos of downtown Bangkok. It is well located for trips to the Grand Palace and provides a lovely boat to cruise up & down the Chao Phraya river . The hotel is a treasure trove of beautiful furniture, books and antiques. Every nook and cranny holds a delight from the lovely Art Deco bar to the r"record room" with stacks of wonderful old record albums ! We simply didn't have enough time to explore everything. The breakfast provided each morning along the river was wonderful. As lovely as the hotel is, what really makes it exceptional is the superb service provided by the staff. Every person on the staff delivered excellent customer service. Our "butler" Khun Tong was absolutely the highlight of our stay. He met our every need. He even met needs that we didn't know we had !! He was a true delight. My only regret was that we had to leave. I highly recommend this hotel. You will not be disappointed

I have been touring around for 11 years now, visiting hotels and resorts. Some of them highly luxury and exclusive. I can say now THE SIAM is by far the most impressive hotel of all of them. Pls book a pool and courtyard villa and let you treat by the most experienced butlers in the world. Special mention to PAUL KAINKAYA, only 2 months in the job, but an amazing butler. Great future ahead for this man in the hotelier world. This makes me reiterate the quality of the personalized service and level of detail of this little pearl lost in the middle of the megaurbe BANGKOK.

This is more than a hotel. This is a state of mind you dont want to leave. Perfect for both your body and your soul. As my boyfriend said when we came back for our second time. - Have I died and gone to heaven? If this is heaven I am okey with being dead. The architecture by Bill Bensley and the genuine interior design with lots of wonderful art deco furniture, posters, books and historical items really challanges and inspires me. I am grateful to the owner of these treasures, who share with us all this history and beauty. It is such a joy to walk around and take part of everthing. It feels like I'm visiting a friend with exquisite sense of style. Not a hotel. Add to this experience that the service is excellent, all staff included, delicious food, both local and western, heavenly comfortable beds, a supercool gym, yoga, pool, sauna and a spa that is a small world in this another world. If you, unlikely, want to leave the hotel for a little outing your butler service arrange one according to your preferences. Perfect!! To paraphrase James Brown : It looks good, it smells good and it feels good!!!! I recommend at least three night here if you like art deco, history, arcitecture, tranquillity and getting excellent pampered. And I almost forgot. There is complimentary movie room for us movielovers 😉 popcorn and drinks too
Had a cocktail at the Siam and was so impressed with property. We entered via river boat from the river and walked in to the property amidst pleasant croaking of frogs. You feel that the property was built a century a go. The decor in the common areas were beautifully done and the gardens perfectly manicured. Definitely going to be a place to be for our next visit to Bangkok

Truly one of the great hotels of the world. Every little luxe detail and our every whim was met at this quintessence hotel on a quiet stretch of the Chao Phraya River. The hotel buildings are reminiscent of old Thailand and filled with the most exquisite antiques and collectables from, we were told, the owners private collection. My wife and myself felt honoured to be living with antiquities that told stories of long ago Thailand, we stayed 3 nights in a Mae Nam Suite, which was very comfortable and well appointed with everything a traveller needs to feel pampered. The staff at the hotel are extremely polite and well trained, especially the front office staff who are refreshingly calm but efficient, and big thank you to our butler, Mac, who ensured that we were happy. The debonair GM, Nick Downing, was on hand to welcome us and his gracious and sophisticated style is evident with his touches throughout the hotel. We decided on The Siam as we wanted a relaxing hotel to rest after a hectic work & travel schedule and we couldn't have planned better. We rarely left the hotel and our dreamy days were spent either in the pool or dining in one of their outstanding river side restaurants and bars. The food is delicious, lighter-style Thai with a spread of Western dishes, but we went for the Thai and were very happy. Breakfast is an informal affair with a selection of fresh fruits, juices and pastries with more substantial cooked items on order which made for a totally relaxing start to our days at The Siam. The gardens are beautifully laid out and work with the architecture of the hotel, little water features dot your path and well manicured hedges curtain the grounds, making a cool oasis from the tropical sun. Loved that guests mingled at the pool bar and chatted with fellow travellers over breakfast, this made for a memorable stay. Looking forward to our next visit with relish!
