The Siam Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand

Board a private speedboat bound for The Siam Hotel at Saphan Taksin central pier and leave Bangkok’s chaos behind. This urban retreat, part of the Legend collection of Preferred Hotels & Resorts, is a one-of-a-kind marriage of traditional Thai culture and delicious Art Deco ornamentation designed by “Architectural Digest’s Top 100” recipient Bill Bensley and overseen by Krissada Sukosol Clapp, a Thai pop singer and actor who won the country’s equivalent of a Best Actor Oscar. The resort sits on three acres of riverfront land in the royal Dusit district and draws inspiration from Paris’s Musée d’Orsay. Guests are blanketed in tranquility in oversized suites teeming with antiques.

Rise early and call your butler for breakfast to be delivered to your suite. Take a walk along the Chao Phraya River. Join the resort’s guest practitioner for some breezy vinyasas on the outdoor yoga deck. Recline by the riverside infinity pool. Order a traditional Thai whiskey soda to sip poolside. And dine on homemade curries in a former private residence that entertained glitterati including Jackie Kennedy and John Rockefeller.

We booked 2 nights and then canceled. We then booked again and canceled the reservation. The hotel claims they did not receive the 2 night cancellation and charged for both nights. Clearly they knew we were not coming at least 24 hours before the second night, considering we did not check in and advised them after we received a request asking our thoughts on the check in procedure. A clear RIP-OFF

not only impressed by its lush garden design combined with elegant and relaxed vibe, we appreciated very much the attentive service. The general manager is always around to make sure the guests have got the needed assistance immediately. The A La Carte breakfast is prepared excellently to each guest's need.

This is probably the best Hotel in Bangkok. Everything was just perfect, the entire staff, our very comfortable room and the location. Highly recommended! Staying in a 5* hotel in asia the expectations are always quite high, these expectations are getting fully fulfilled. My absolutely favorite hotel in Bangkok, for my mind also better than the Oriental.

Every great stay at a hotel begins the same way, the general manager greets you immediately upon arrival, and throughout the stay is present and approachable. We arrived at The Siam about 7 hours later than expected due to weather in Seoul. Even at 5AM, Nick, the general manager, greeted us with a smile. Throughout the stay Nick could be seen around the hotel interacting with guest and answering any and all questions. The Siam and it’s staff are friendly, thoughtful, and refined. The rooms are gorgeous, unique, and cozy. The food, both western dishes at breakfast, and Thai dishes at dinner are great. We indulged in a spa treatment which was very good. It is a great retreat from the bustle of Bangkok. Nick was the extra magic that took the siam from great to excellent.
