Reviews for Little Good Harbour

Terrific small hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

We stayed at Little Good Harbour for eight nights after Easter. The welcome we received and the service throughout were exemplary. The hotel is well placed to explore the north and west of the island and we were glad that we hired a car. Nothing was too much trouble for Javon and his team, who booked various trips for us in advance and also groceries and drinks for the fridge. We ate in the Fish Pot Restaurant several times and the food and service were excellent.

Little Good Harbor is a warm, special place. I couldn’t recommend it enough. It is in a beautiful setting, exceptionally clean and very modern. The area has the most wonderful plants, flowers and wild life including monkeys. The staff are friendly, helpful and welcoming. A big shout out to Christoph the chef at The Fish Pot his food is incredible! There is a variety of food on the menu which is enjoyed by all. Management always stop and introduce themselves and have a conversation with you. Paul, Andrea and Kathie are the most amazing, social, sparkly members of staff who remember your name, what you like and are very personable. Andrew the owner was there to meet us on our arrival and is always on site, checking your every need is met to have the most wonderful break. Nothing is too big or small. A big thanks to Javon who helped organise my wedding , along with Olivia, Trevor and Ian. All staff are absolutely fantastic and if I could name them all I would. The maids, hotel staff, management are all traditionally Bajan with a bright smile, relaxed vibe and want to give you the best Barbados experience. Book your trip now!

Tasteful boutique hotel and top restaurant.

Delightful little hotel in small but very well planted and quiet grounds, with the bigger of two pools very tastefully set out. Our room was two storey with sitting area and kitchen downstairs, lovely, cool and tasteful (again) bedroom, bathroom and balcony upstairs - ideal. Across the little road from The Fish Pot, fabulous location right on the beach with great food and good service. Altogether, a lovely, relaxing, comfortable boutique hotel and restaurant.

Fantastic gem of a small hotel with every comfort . A beautiful place in lush ground s with a two storey accommodation. Very spacious, lovely furnishings, relaxing and peaceful. Lovely pools and great service from the fish pot in the restaurant and also for on terrace dining should you wish! Absolutely gorgeous with great staff too. Nothing is too much trouble. Restaurant food varied and delicious. We have already re booked for next year! Hope to see you all then. Thanks

Lovely stay, fantastic food

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

This is a really lovely hotel and the star of the show is the Fish Pot restaurant. The Fishpot restaurant is 5/5, we never had a mediocre meal or cocktail. It was the best place we ate all holiday despite travelling on a high standard cruise ship as part of our trip. Fantastic atmosphere, views and food. We stayed in a 1 bedroom 2 story room which was like a mini home. It was lovely, gorgeous grounds well decorated and lovely balconies on lover floor and also off 1st floor bedroom. Very good in-room Wi-Fi and smart TV which you can use to log into your own Netflix etc. I definitely recommend getting a food order in for your arrival for things like milk and juice and coffee - there seemed to be teabags provided. If you are doing your own breakfasts then the eggs, bread and bacon they sourced were good. I’m not sure that the kitchen would suffice for cooking more than simple meals, but then why would you bother when the FishPot is on your doorstep. There were a couple of things that let the accommodation down which the hotel need to address - hence my 4 stars: 1. The main one is the kitchen in room B1. The cupboards look nice but they are old cupboards with new cupboard doors on. There has clearly been a water leak or damp issue at some point in the past and they really smell of old damp inside. It lets the room down significantly. It didn’t spoil our stay but to keep the good name of Little food harbour they do need replacing. 2. Some of the electrics could do with an upgrade to keep the high standard people expect at this sort of accommodation. A couple of the sockets were temperamental. Note that this property has traditional style slats at many of the windows which are well made and substantial but they don’t keep noise out overnight from the road (only an issue in odd occasions like when the bins are emptied at 4 am! ) and the very loud frogs that make noise all night long 🐸. I love my wildlife but the frogs are quite something- they are tiny and very loud. You just need to make sure you embrace the frogs as a quirk of Barbados and maybe it’s just the time of year and the weather while we were there. Overall this is a lovely place to stay for a few days to relax and eat lovely food. It served us well for three nights prior to our cruise. I would not recommend staying longer than 3-4 nights due to its location. I would stay here again for a few nights for sure, but if we were in Barbados for longer we would use this as part of a two location stay to see more of the island. We really did enjoy our stay and especially the food. I recommend staying here and the negatives in the feedback are purely for balance.
