Villa Le Maschere in Barberino di Mugello, Italy
Located in the Tuscan countryside, just a short ride from Florence, sits the fashionable Villa Le Maschere. Its stately exterior and luxury status comes from a mélange of centuries-old tradition and cutting-edge hospitality. The building dates back to the 18th century and its architectural features - the stunning frescoes and Venetian plaster - are proof positive. Inside, a new day has dawned with a collection of modern furnishings designed and produced on Italian soil. There are 65 minimalist-style guest rooms that rest beneath hand-painted ceilings, housed in either the Chini Pavilion or the main villa. Crisp color schemes are infused with bold splashes of red, sage, eggplant and ebony, and billowy fabrics frame canopied beds and windows. Bathrooms are cloaked in cool Italian marble and outfitted with large and inviting soaking tubs. Public spaces are equally striking with ultra modern embellishments.
Italy is known for its stunning gardens, and Villa Le Maschere is no exception. A sweeping staircase leads from the terrace down to sprawling park-like grounds, where a pair of swimming pools provide a refreshing escape on warm seasonal days. There is a delightful restaurant where elegant buffets are laid out for guests to enjoy a leisurely meal. The intimate bar is a place to retreat in the evening for an aperitif and conversation. Villa Le Maschere is near Lago di Bilancino as well as the small village of Barberino di Mugello. You can also spend the day in Florence scouring the many renowned museums, piazzas and public markets - or seek out a lush vineyard for an Italian-style picnic. For a revival of tradition with a contemporary twist, experience Villa Le Maschere.

Reviews for Villa Le Maschere
The hotel is located in beautiful tuscan countryside. It is an historic building recently restored and the decor is modern, elegant and very tasteful. The food was high quality and very well prepared, very good attentive service, we enjoyed our stay very much, everything was just right , the place peaceful and relaxing, especially the breakfast served in the beautiful gardens , just lovely. I would definitely return. Also comfortable to visit Florence Ps The hotel is close to Mugello Ferrari race track, you can hear the cars roaring on the road from the hotel when it is in use which it was when we stayed at the hotel.

We stayed 2 nights here. Staff warm welcome and greeting from reception. Our room was very well appointed. Gym has basic equipment but sufficient. Boutique small spa. Breakfast buffet help yourself. Good waiter a breakfast he was funny. Dinner very limited choice and don't change the menu or rotate menu on different days very often, so if you stay two nights it's the same food. Restaurant food just ok. Overall pleasant stay.

5 years to rebuild this old palazzo and results are really awesome! the decoration is so refined in each little details. The hotel is huge and you can lost yourself in corridors which is actually great because you discover other beautiful spaces (dining rooms, salon, bar...). Good buffet for breakfast. Good service and tasty food at the restaurant(super pasta!). Our room had a nice view on the garden. Nice moulure and "trompe l'oeil" on walls and ceiling. Good bed quality. Bathroom was a little bit small without much light but confortable. Perfect for an escapade with your lover!
I chose to stay here with my family as it was perfectly located to see a bit of Tuscany and be 'shuttled' into Florence 35 minutes away. This Villa is beautiful but falls just short of the promised 5 star. Unlike previous reviews we found every member of staff to be helpful and friendly. The food was fabulous, yes a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. The pool was quiet every time we visited in the afternoon and we found the sun beds to be more than adequate. The jacuzzi in the wellness area disappointed due to a lack of working jets and the discovery of thick green mould but we didn't visit this hotel for the wellness area. The rooms were reasonably spacious and the beds and pillows were so comfy our nights sleep was excellent. The rooms should have provided free water, that was a shame, and the air con was a little too warm for us and even though we reported it after a failure to turn it down in our room the temperature didn't change. So a couple of issues, but overall our stay was fabulous and we would strongly recommend the Villa.

A very neutral welcome without the promised welcome drink and a request to move our car quickly to the car park. The room was average but with poor Air Con and a hard bed. There was no bottled water on offer in sight, in fact the room was pretty basic as was the overpriced sparsely stocked minibar. The 'relaxing pool' had screaming kids and there were barking dogs every morning to annoy you at breakfast. When there was a space, the beds by the pool were extremely uncomfortable, like lying on a plank of wood. Its a nice location but better was the lake nearby, the outlet mall if you like designer shopping and a fantastic local restaurant opposite the hotel. We just got the impression that no effort was being made by the management. Some great individuals who were proud of what they did was one of the chefs and a waitress who cared. This place needs an injection of something as it could offer much more.
