Claris Hotel

To the Claris Hotel & Spa and Derby Hotels Collection Team, Jennie and I wanted to take a moment to express our sincere appreciation for the extraordinary graciousness and hospitality we have experienced at Hotel Claris in Barcelona. There are many beautiful luxury hotels, but Claris manages to accomplish something much more difficult: it feels genuinely special. From the moment we arrived, the hotel has felt less like a traditional city hotel and more like a private luxury hideaway—a place of calm, respite, and understated elegance in the middle of Barcelona. The property itself is remarkable. In an era when so many luxury hotels have begun to feel increasingly similar, Claris has a distinct personality. The artwork, furnishings, materials, and design feel collected rather than simply decorated. There is a sense that nearly everything has been deliberately chosen, giving the hotel an individuality and authenticity that simply cannot be replicated by a conventional luxury-hotel formula. Our room has been equally impressive. Even facing a busy Barcelona street, once the windows are closed and the electric shutters come down, the outside world essentially disappears. The room becomes remarkably quiet, dark, and peaceful. The bathroom may be compact, but it is beautifully appointed and genuinely luxurious. These are the kinds of thoughtful details that become increasingly important when you travel frequently. The greatest strength of Claris, however, is its people. Every member of the team we have encountered has been exceptionally gracious, warm, attentive, and seemingly eager to find a way to make our stay better. Yet somehow the service never feels rehearsed, intrusive, or overly formal. It feels natural. That balance is exceptionally difficult to achieve, and your staff seems to accomplish it effortlessly. The food and beverage experience deserves special recognition as well. It is sophisticated and bespoke while simultaneously remaining relaxed and unpretentious. Breakfast has been extraordinary—not simply because of the quality and selection, but because of the care and hospitality surrounding the experience. The complimentary minibar, thoughtfully replenished each day, is another seemingly small detail that substantially changes the feeling of a stay. It conveys generosity rather than transaction. As frequent travelers, we have learned that true luxury rarely comes from marble, thread counts, or amenities alone. It comes from individuality, thoughtful details, consistency, and, above all, the people delivering the experience. Claris excels at all of them. We are also extremely pleased to be able to experience a distinctive Derby Hotels Collection property like Claris through the Hilton ecosystem. As highly loyal Hilton guests, it is particularly gratifying to discover a hotel with this much independence, personality, and character while also experiencing such enthusiastic recognition of Hilton’s top-tier guests. At Claris, that recognition has never felt transactional. It has felt genuinely welcoming. Please extend our appreciation to everyone who has contributed to our stay—the front desk and guest relations teams, housekeeping, breakfast and food and beverage staff, and all of the people working quietly behind the scenes whom guests may never have the opportunity to thank personally. You have created something increasingly rare: a hotel that feels exclusive without being pretentious, sophisticated without being sterile, luxurious without being ostentatious, and highly polished without sacrificing warmth or personality. Claris has become much more than simply where we stayed in Barcelona. It has become part of how we will remember Barcelona. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of us. 1st time staying at this beautiful SLH. We just finished the Camino de Santiago and were looking forward to Barcelona. Everything here was top notch. The location, the interior design, the staff, the Terrace Restaurant and the breakfast! Everytime we left our room, we returned with the beds made, room straightened out, new water bottles and of course, the chocolate on the pillow. We felt so pampered! Everytime we visit Barcelona, we plan on staying at the Claris!

We loved our stay at the Claris. The hotel is beautiful; the location is great; and the service was lovely. Lots of little details made our stay feel even more special including a fresh rose in our room at turndown along with a box of freshly made truffles. The rooms are very comfortable and designed well. We appreciated the decor and were also grateful for the hotel's environmental conscientiousness. We highly recommend the Claris to anyone looking for an elevated experience in Barcelona.

Absolutely perfect location in the heart of the city. 20 min walk to Sagrada Família and La Rambla. This hotel is immaculate with outstanding staff and service. Full service Spa on premises. Would like to thank Luna at the front desk for assisting us so courteously and putting up with my broken Spanish.

The reception staff were very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast and waitstaff was great. The pool felt awesome on those warm September days. The location was convenient for our different excursions. The hotel itself was beautiful with the museum artifacts bringing a different dimension to our stay.
