Reviews for Eurostars Grand Marina Hotel

poor customer service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

We booked this hotel on Hotels.com for one night Sep. 9th. Our international flight from the United States was delayed due to mechanical problems and we arrived at the hotel one day late on Sep 10th. The hotel did not honor the existing reservation and charged me again to allow us to stay the night! When I complained via email and asked for a refund of one of the payments; the hotel did not even bother to answer my email! This hotel advertises itself as a 5* star hotel but treats it's customer the same as a 1* hotel! Do not stay at this hotel; spend your money at a real 5* hotel where the management put's customer satisfaction first.

Highy recommended for Barcelona Port travellers

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We booked a 1 night stay at the Eurostars Grand Marina as it is located next to the Barcelona Port, and so is really convenient if this is where you are joining your cruise We are able to check-in for our cruise so easily as we were within walking distance of the Port, and this convenience was really appreciated. The cost of the room was excellent value, very clean and well appointed, and with a good breakfast included, represented excellent value for money. We could not fault the impeccable service received from the moment of arrival, through the check-in process, as the staff were efficient, warm and friendly and nothing seemed too much trouble. We were also able to have early access to our room in advance of the normal check-in time, so this was a very welcome bonus, which was very much appreciated after a tiring journey from the U.K. to Spain. We would highgly recommended this hotel, and we hope you enjoy future stay's as much as we did!

Great hotel!

Great location. Right on the marina. Easy walk to the Gothic Quarter. Wonderful architecture and statues along the way. Hotel room large and clean. Staff was very nice, helpful and spoke English. Was able to drop off luggage in the morning. Breakfast was $25, and a lot of people. Skip it and got next door to Salvatge coffee. Cool place. Taxi drivers line up out front. Go to the first guy or they'll start yelling at each other.

Great Place to Stay

The hotel was spectacular. We were greeted with care and provided with excellent service. Our room was clean and the decor was exquisite. A great place to stay, fantastic location, close to key sites and is an unforgettable experience.

Unfortunately, this was the hotel chosen for us by our Tour group and boy where they sorry! There were 20 of us in our bags had been there at 2 PM and stored in some random storage closet instead of being put in our rooms because we didn’t even get there till 5 PM. Our tour guide even said that the bags were thrown on top of each other and he was very disappointed. He had literally booked separate haulers for our bags to be in our rose by the time we got there and they totally failed The rooms themselves were actually spacious and you have control over your air-conditioning. Try to get a room with a balcony because we didn’t get one. The best part of the room was the showers which had several different showerhead options and nozzles were everywhere! But the best best part was the pressure was amazing. Once again, bring your own washcloth, but there was a nice hairdryer and a steamer instead of an iron. But the location was awful! It is not close to anything! Yes, there is a marina and a mall next to it, but it is a complete forest. You actually have to walk another 20 minutes around the marina to even get to the Less Ramblas is a 20 minute cab ride, which will cost you about $10-$15 depending on the time . The Gowdy homes are another 20 to 30 minute walk or $10-$15 cab ride. Park Goel is completely on the other side of town and will run you about a $20 cab ride. Don’t even think about walking to that park!! The breakfast here was just like every other breakfast in Spain. There was no omelette bar, but just fried eggs and a scrambled egg. The staff were friendly enough, but English was minimal on the servers parts. Shout out to Henry for helping us with our last night‘s dinner We were even accompanied by some random loud, opera music! So strange!
