Best food, service and the view!

Fernando was amazing!!! He was so darling by asking “how is everything family”. The food was unreal. We had the chefs tapas and the blue cheese egg was hands down one of the most incredible bites I’ve ever had… and I’m not joking. The view was stunnning. Stunning! The hotel is one of my favorites we’ve ever stayed in!!

Amazing Experience; and Very Impressed by the Service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Our experience at the Hotel Majestic was first class. The location, quality of rooms, bar, restaurant were all excellent. In particular, I want to point out that we spent multiple nights at the rooftop bar and a lasting memory will be Elias showing our 14 year old daughter card tricks that completely made her night. Such a great experience!

Fantastic 5 start hotel in city center for family vacation

Barcelona was part of our family multi city Europe trip. We booked a majestic suite (n325). A complimentary airport/train station (both way transfer) came with the suite. The transfer was organized properly, and the car was clean. The check-in process was quick and smooth, and we were escorted to the separate counter. We arrived at 15:00. Our room was already prepared with some welcome champagne and chocolate. The sofa bed for the kid was prepared as requested. The majestic suite is very spacious with a separate living room area and 2 bathrooms. The position of our suite was perfect, with the balcony overlooking the main street. The room was very comfortable, and the housekeeping did a great job with everyday cleanup. As I remember, the hotel was built in 1918, so the building is historical, but the hotel is nicely renovated (though still keeping its unique historical charm!) The location of the hotel is excellent for both taking a walking tour in a historical neighborhood and going for some shopping. It’s literally in the middle of the fancy shopping street! The famous historical sites are also in close proximity. The area is full of great restaurants, as well as tapas bars with excellent food. The breakfast in the hotel is simply amazing, not only the variety, but the quality as well. The buffet option is fantastic, with a lot of quality local cold cuts. The a la carte option is great. The dessert section is delicious and full of fabulous treats, especially the chocolate cookie, which my daughter loved. :) the staff of the hotel are very attentive and friendly. We used the room service a couple of times, and it was quick and neat. The food delivered was excellent and fresh. The Sangria drink is highly recommended. Just 2 issues worth mentioning: the sofa bed felt a bit dated and it was screeching, making my child feel uncomfortable. We had an early checkout at 05:15 and the internet stopped working for us at around 04:30, and we couldn’t connect it, it didn’t recognized us as guests. As a pleasant surprise, last evening we received a farewell gift. It was the Majestic Hotel’s own fragrance! (30 ml aeu de perfum) It was a lovely gift. Overall, we highly recommend this 5 star hotel for staying with your family for a couple of days.

Lackluster with a few bright spots

Mixed Bag for me. I arrived July 5 about 1 pm and had to wait about 2.5 hours for a room. The bad: The room I booked was deluxe but felt like a lower end room compared to other 5 star hotels I’ve booked. The bathrooms are gorgeous but the rest of my room lacked character and felt like a prison as I had an interior view. Decorations a bit dated and the bed was not comfortable. In fact when I checked in I saw a woman who had purchased pillows and a bed pad and after 3 days I see why. I’ve stayed at Ritz, Conrad and Peninsula hotels that put this one to shame. Here there are No high end electronics, basic ports, blah blah. On day one I saw a man complaining about his room and the front desk trying to upsell him. It felt like a timeshare presentation. The good: The breakfast is amazing and the highlight of my trip. The staff are attentive and friendly and there are lots of them which likely explains the cost. Location is great for touring and shopping. Very safe and lovely area. I had a massage which was amazing with Marcia. Suggestions: I recommend looking at the Claris (also a 5 star) which is one block away and much cheaper. I went there as I was doing laundry (I went to Tina Express because the hotel charged 15 euro for pants and 6 euro to wash panties snd I washed and dried 10x the items for 10 euro) and they had a doorman, snacks in the lobby, and a very modern look. Book the Casa Batllo evening experience (it’s a block away). Overall I would spend my money elsewhere. I was here for a bday celebration so made the most of it but I’m not leaving with a longing to return. I give it 3.5 stars for the good spots but it’s overpriced for discerning travelers.
