Melia Barcelona Sky in Barcelona, Spain

Etched in the European landscape is the beautiful town of Barcelona. Among all the historic and Gothic buildings is a modern structure that reaches towards the heavens, known to savvy travelers as Melia Barcelona Sky. Its location amidst the cultural landmarks of Catalonia is most definitely an enviable one. Guest rooms take on a minimalist approach with streamlined furnishings and splashes of bold color set against a backdrop of neutral tones. The Level, a floor holding a collection of spacious suites high atop the hotel, provides exclusive services to guests such as private check-in and evening cocktails, plus panoramic views of the city below.

While the selection of restaurants fills a basic necessity, it is also an experience for the senses. The settings are sexy, the food infused with zest, and the service quite extraordinary. The SKY Food Bar whips up flavorful fresh-market cuisine with a hint of Spanish spices, while Dos Cielos has a more deliberate take on dining with its celebrated chefs, innovative cuisine and al fresco seating options. The worldly Angels & Kings Club is the go-to place for getting into your dancing, sipping creatively-named cocktails and tapas plus enjoying stunning terrace views. The club even has its own swimming pool where guests can make quite the splash. After a late night of lounging, head to the YHI Spa the next afternoon to pamper your body with water rituals and treatments borrowed from the Mayan and Aztec cultures. ME Barcelona is both sophisticated and playful, striking a perfect balance for its diverse group of guests.

I love this neighborhood hotel! The staff is so wonderful and service oriented. By I am thinking what in the heck is going on with the sky bar? Such a waste of a beautiful space!! Why can't these people get a good tapas menu? You could fill this place with locals for happy hour. It's such a bummer. I love everything about this hotel except the bar "tapas" menu. PLEASE add more stuff! Like bravas, tartar, bombas, etc... I would hang out there at least twice a week and spend money. The views are to die for. PLEASE Mr. Melia Manager consider upgrading your bar tapas menu!!

I recently stayed in Barcelona as part of a 3 city tour within Europe. This upscale and contemporary hotel was very clean and offered a very comfortable stay. I reserved a Level Sea View room which was amazing! The pool and Level lounge were very nice as well. I would definitely recommend the sea view room as well. Overall the hotel is an awesome choice for Barcelona. It isn't in the immediate hustle and bustle however, there are plenty of restaurants nearby and a cab ride to downtown is only about 10 euro's each way. One recommendation would be to increase the food offering for breakfast in the level restaurant. My friends and I thought the food was good, however supply was limited at times.

Stayed for 1 night before a business meeting and it was very pleasant best part probably the staff as they were very professional, helpful and welcoming. Nice top floor bar and a great breakfast in the same place. Didn't sleep as well as I would have liked as the room was very warm and the air conditioning was too noisy to leave on. Would recommend and stay again.

Well located, only 10 euros to Gaudi Museum, Cathedral etc. Go for 'The Level' package as food and beverage is included daily at different times, so especially of god value if not all occupants are on business away from hotel all day.

I booked this hotel to celebrate our engagement with our trip to Barcelona from the American Express Hotel Collection (we became engaged just before going to Barcelona). We had an amazing trip but the stay here was so stressful and upsetting honestly it really impacted our trip for the worse and i would NOT recommend this hotel. First and foremost, the cleaning staff - on our second day we went out in the city and came back expecting our room to be clean. The maid had come and changed the towels (which, by the way, all towels and robes at this hotel are worn with holes in them), but the trash wasn't taken out and nothing was tidied. Then my fiance noticed his suitcase was closed when he left it open. He went to open it and a SOAKING WET DIRTY CLEANING RAG WAS INSIDE HIS SUITCASE and had soiled all his clean clothes. We called the manager who had his clothes cleaned but did not otherwise offer any remediation. Additionally, when we arrived at the hotel there was only ONE person checking people in and out. We had to wait 20 minutes while jet lagged only to be told our room was not ready. While we were waiting, a prostitute came downstairs and asked the one employee for a towel! How low class! We went out and came back, we were told we were in an upgraded suite. It was large but the AIR CONDITIONER DID NOT WORK! It was boiling hot inside! We had to call maintenance and they came in and worked on it for 30 minutes while i was trying to sleep from Jet lag. On top of that, during one day, someone stole a metal swell water bottle from our room that we never found. Every time we called for towels it took at least 30 minutes to receive them We asked repeatedly for Nespresso pods for the Nespresso maker and never received them. At the pool one day there was a bachelor party going on and I was repeatedly harassed by the men there even with my fiance present. Finally I got up and left as the staff did nothing to stop this spectacle. The staff then called and told me I had to return to sign for my pool bill. I refused and they argued with me. As a supposed "gift" for the problem they waived my pool bill - but it was already waived through the American Express credit! Haha! What a "gift"! Overall, this is NOT a five star hotel. Don't be confused and spend your money elsewhere. Only reason I gave 2 stars is because I filed an American Express dispute. Once they reached out to Melia on my behalf, the hotel did refund me half of my stay price. I'm sure if I had not had American Express do it, though, the terrible service would have continued.
