Wake to a beautiful day on your first morning, and enjoy a fabulous breakfast at Contraste Restaurant or at iQ smart fresh food, with a menu carefully designed by a nutritionist. Venture out for the day to discover this amazing city, and start with a stroll down the famed La Rambla. Enjoy fantastic and eclectic shopping, vibrant street performances, and delightful cafés where you can sit, relax and people watch. Make your way to La Sagrada Familia, a magnificent temple designed by Anton Gaudi and begun in 1881, where you can marvel at its massive structure, which is still being constructed today. Continue on to Gaudi's psychedelic Park Guell, on a hill overlooking the city, and enjoy a pleasantly strange afternoon amongst serpentine benches, brilliant tile mosaics, giant decorative lizards, and gingerbread-styled houses. In the afternoon stop in at a lovely café for a true taste of Barcelona and enjoy fabulous fresh seafood and pintxos, the delightful tapas-styled local snacks. Take the rest of the afternoon to relax with a sail along the Mediterranean coast, or be moved by an astounding performance at the Gran Teatre del Liceu or L'Auditori. That night, return to the hotel for a well-deserved massage at AQUA Diagonal Spa, then enjoy a fun-filled dinner in the hotel's very own German Biergarten. At Hotel Sofia, every day is truly this magical.

Terrible experience. Customer service was very poor all around. front desk reception was not very knowledgeable nor were they very interested in helping housekeeping was atrocious. I called down several times asking for some important supplies, like coffee and soap, which I never received. On one occassion, I called housekeeping to ask for a fork and plate. It took over an hour and FOUR phone calls to finally get it. I complained to management and really received the very negligible response. This property should not be a Hyatt property and management should be ashamed of themselves.

The elevators in this hotel constantly break. Myself and 9 other people were stuck in one of them for 30 minutes on the April 12. Two other elevators failed that night and and additional elevator got stuck the next day. Reading other reviews it's apparent that this has been an ongoing problem for quite some time. This hotel should not be allowed to operate until the elevators are all fixed. Its' completely unsafe and the hotel did nothing to rectify the situation except send a box of cookies to my room. Disgraceful operation.

Our time in Barcelona was fantastic, and our stay at the Grand Hyatt Barcelona made the experience even more memorable. The room was very comfortable, especially the bed, which suited our preferences perfectly. The hotel’s location is also very convenient—just about a 10-minute walk to Camp Nou. As a fun highlight, we even spotted players from Atlético Madrid who were in town for a UEFA Champions League match, which added an extra touch of excitement to our stay. The surrounding area has a vibrant and lively atmosphere that we truly enjoyed. Service throughout the hotel was consistently excellent. The team was friendly, attentive, and welcoming at all times. Adrian at the front desk stood out in particular—he greeted us warmly upon arrival and took the time to thoroughly walk us through the hotel’s facilities and dining options, ensuring we didn’t miss any of the amenities available. David was also very helpful with our luggage and shared great local recommendations, which we found very useful during our stay. We had a wonderful experience with Diana at the concierge desk. She was incredibly thoughtful in helping us plan a Big Bus tour and offered several excellent suggestions. What stood out most was her effort to help us practice Spanish—once she learned of our interest, she kindly spoke slowly with us, which we greatly appreciated. At breakfast, Mabel provided outstanding service. Although the breakfast area was quite busy at times, she remained attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Her efforts certainly did not go unnoticed. One point worth noting is the rooftop restaurant, Maymanta—the food is very good; however, I would recommend carefully reviewing the bill. Overall, we are extremely pleased with our stay and would highly recommend Grand Hyatt Barcelona.

Very slow check in (with some desks empty). Stuck in lift for 30 minutes, alarm bell did not work and staff very slow to respond, had to call emergency services. No apology offered. Insufficient lift capacity overall, often left waiting >10 minutes. No tea or coffee offered at breakfast on first day. Air conditioning was not cold. Steam iron was replaced with non-steam iron, unsuitable for our needs. Only a single sleeping pillow, the other far too large to use.
