Plush rooms are bright and inviting, crafted with soft pastel tones and dark, rich wood furniture and accents. Wake to a beautiful day on your first morning, and enjoy a fabulous breakfast at Contraste Restaurant or at iQ smart fresh food, with a menu carefully designed by a nutritionist. Venture out for the day to discover this amazing city, and start with a stroll down the famed La Rambla. Enjoy fantastic and eclectic shopping, vibrant street performances, and delightful cafés where you can sit, relax and people watch. Make your way to La Sagrada Familia, a magnificent temple designed by Anton Gaudi and begun in 1881, where you can marvel at its massive structure, which is still being constructed today. Continue on to Gaudi's psychedelic Park Guell, on a hill overlooking the city, and enjoy a pleasantly strange afternoon amongst serpentine benches, brilliant tile mosaics, giant decorative lizards, and gingerbread-styled houses. In the afternoon stop in at a lovely café for a true taste of Barcelona and enjoy fabulous fresh seafood and pintxos, the delightful tapas-styled local snacks. Take the rest of the afternoon to relax with a sail along the Mediterranean coast, or be moved by an astounding performance at the Gran Teatre del Liceu or L'Auditori. That night, return to the hotel for a well-deserved massage at AQUA Diagonal Spa, then enjoy a fun-filled dinner in the hotel's very own German Biergarten. At Hotel Sofia, every day is truly this magical.

I was a little disappointed with the room. The breakfast offered was outstanding, the team should be proud of their great selection, presentation and service. The foyer area and restaurants are very nice and stylish.

Probably the best hotel I have been to. In terms of the room, the restaurants, the pool. The attentiveness of the staff. All of it was top.

Don't expect you would get the service you are expecting to get from a Grand Hyatt. You would get a better service from any Hyatt Regency level hotel.

Positives: 1. the junior suite we booked was lovely. Spacious and an excellent bathroom with lovely bath and separate shower. 2. Breakfast, although busy, was always excellent. Good choice and staff worked hard to clean up, offer coffee etc... 3. The club-level evening canapés were excellent. Nice choices Negatives: 1. Half empty water bottles in bedroom presumably from last guest. 2. The lifts often took 10 minutes to arrive. This was crazy, with many disgruntled guests waiting to pushbin whe one arrived. 3. On 2 of the 4 days, our room was not cleaned - despite the requests. 4. Food in the bar was really poor.
