Hotel Sofia

I was in Barcelona for 2 nights and wanted a nice hotel to stay since I had a lot of work meetings through the day. Grand Hyatt seemed good and let’s see if it did live it up. The hotel location is pretty good, walkable from most places (20min++) and the hotel in itself is nice. The hotel is large and grand. The check in was smooth, the staff were helpful and offered a nice room. The elevators are quick and as I mentioned the hotel is large so it does take a while to get to your room. Which is okay. The room is nice, large beds, nice bathrooms, the work desk and sofa feel a bit dated, I felt this could have been more refurbished. The bed is super comfortable, the rooms are quiet and sound proof. I did not take breakfast but got to walk down the road for a quick breakfast. The room has nespresso coffee machine and that helped. The price paid was USD259 per night. I mainly wanted a safe hotel, quiet room and comforting bed so I was willing to pay the price. Taxi / Ubers are easily available, the concierge is amazing. The hotel staff were great too, helpful and room service was well done. The WiFi was good. All in all, I’m sure there may be better stays available but I really liked this one. No complains or regrets.

Probably the worst stay ever in a Hyatt property worldwide with an appalling service received most of the times during my stay. From charging for the whole stay upon check in with extra charges that later had to be refunded to having some dirty towel put in room, not delivering things in room when asked, not offering Globalist late check out and telling me that the room should be vacated at noon, and the Happy Hour offerings were incredibly poor and lacking in quality. Overall, a place that does not match what a Grand Hyatt property usually has; great offerings and service levels around the world. Not to be recommended at all until the Management start treating guests according to what a Grand Hyatt property means.

The hotel has a good breakfast service was slow. The lounge is basically nonexistent. There’s nothing there but a couple of soft drinks. The hotel is and lots of things in the suites did not work. You would think it would be a great hotel since it’s so far from town tomake people come there, but they lack in this area. The only person that we would say was absolutely great was the concierge’s Isaac

This hotel has a very strange hotel system. The rooms are very dark and my water dispenser did not work. However, the concierge's were very nice and helpful.
