While this is generally a pleasant, comfortable hotel with a very nice staff, it did not live up to my only other experience at a Grand Hyatt, which was in Taipei. That stay was so pleasant, I eagerly booked my stay at Grand Hyatt Barcelona. As soon as I entered my room I was hit in the face with an overwhelming amount of room spray. I left a message for housekeeping not to use it during the duration of my five night stay. What I found when the room spray was gone, was that it had been masking a faint smell of sewage! I reported it to guest services, and was unnerved when the employee did not seem surprised. She offered to send someone up to do a "procedure" on the drains at a time I was out of the room. She did offer to put me in another room if it did not clear up. It did go away, but then late that night when i was in bed it returned. I wore a mask to sleep. I later figured out that learned that the smell went away when I closed the shower door and plugged the sinks. Besides the smell came and went at odd times. I had a very busy schedule, so rather than repack all of my belongings and moving when I might just encounter the same problem, I just lived with it and kept the drains closed. At the end of my stay, they left me a note apologizing for any discomfort, along with another box of the macarons they'd left as a welcome when I arrived. Not the most generous consolation prize for such an egregious issue. I worked in a hotel in my youth, and we would have gone out of our way to buy a dinner or a massage for the guest.

I stayed at the Grand Hyatt Barcelona for 7 nights in November 2025 and had a truly wonderful experience. As a World of Hyatt Globalist, I used a Suite Upgrade Award and was given a Junior Suite King, which turned out to be outstanding. The room was spacious, luxurious, beautifully designed, and impeccably clean. The staff deserve special mention. Everyone I interacted with was warm, professional, and genuinely helpful. The hotel’s location is fantastic as well, right in the heart of Barcelona, making it easy to reach major attractions, restaurants, and public transportation. Although the outdoor pool was closed for the winter, we thoroughly enjoyed the indoor heated pool, located in the spa area. The spa also includes a dry sauna, steam room, and additional facilities, and we visited twice because it was so relaxing. Breakfast was another highlight. It was varied, generous, and delicious, with a rich buffet. As a Globalist, I also received two complimentary à-la-carte dishes each morning, which was a great perk and made the experience even more enjoyable. I also had access to the Grand Lounge, which offered coffee and light refreshments throughout the day. From 17:00 to 19:00, they served a selection of tasty tapas, a lovely treat and a perfect way to unwind in the afternoon. Overall, my stay was highly positive. I would absolutely return to the Grand Hyatt Barcelona and would gladly recommend it to friends and fellow travelers.

Amazing Hotel! Situated right in the epicenter of the city, it's a safe and spotless haven. Enjoy incredible dining options, including a top-notch steakhouse, a vibrant Peruvian restaurant, a trendy tapas bar, and a cozy coffee bar—all fantastic. I can't recommend this place enough!

Was there for business but Grand Hyatt made it feel more like pleasure. Arrived to a beautifully decorated lobby and enjoyed a warm greeting and quick check in. My room was large, very clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was excellent with many choices and the staff was right there ready to help. As I had not been to Barcelona before, I needed recommendations for places to eat dinner. Namely Tapas. They made a last minute reservation for us to go to Casa Pedra. So good! This hotel is only a couple short blocks to the metro and within walking distance to some really lovely restaurants. I highly recommend it!

The only reason I’m giving this 3 stars, is that it is a lovely sustainable hotel, however my experience with the staff, especially at check-in was poor, and breakfast was very mediocre. I would not recommend staying here, unless you are on a big business conference, and then maybe you would be treated better.
