W is a very nice hotel located with a fantastisk view over the waterfront. It's a bit fareaway from the center of Barcelona eventhough it seems close when you look at the map. The rooms are great but I expected the Hotel to be more "in control" than I experienced. The room had no soap the first day and the waiters forgot our orders more than once.

Ahh to be 30 something and one of the beautiful people... The W Barcelona is a great place to stay, so long as you can handle techno music following you everywhere. Some highlights: The bar scene is hopping, and the service very good. The rooms above the 6th floor have amazing views no matter which side you are facing. And, so long as you like the W's sharp edged furniture style, the rooms are spacious for Europe, and very comfortable. The food, from breakfast to midnight tapas is great. I am told that the night club on the top floor, while small, is great. The gym is one of the best I have ever seen in a hotel. The Whatever-Whenever texting service is amazing... instant response times on anything you want in the hotel. The very few negatives.... The hotel is a bit out there on it's own, this has its positives (they can control the clean calm area) but if you want to stroll into town, it is tough. It's expensive... but when you consider the property, probably not ridiculously so. It is super busy, and reception staff struggle to keep up (but are not unpleasant about it) so if you are looking for a relaxed low key atmosphere... this is the wrong property. I was on a business trip. I have stayed here a few times now, and enjoy the experience, which is just different from many properties. So as long as you are up for being one of the beautiful people, this is a very good choice.

The hotel, rooms and location is amazing. Just didn't feel over wowed by the staff. Checking in, whilst it was busy wasn't a problem, all fine and helpful, luggage delivered to the room all OK. However, if you want something extra for your room, this is a little more difficult. Normally at hotels if you use your tea/coffee milk up during the day you can easily get some more at reception. So one evening I asked for some more milk and was given 2 extra, I asked if I could have some more, thinking we'd like a cuppa before bed and another in the morning to be told no, you can only have one carton each. In reality this is a tiny moan but was just a bit surprised, the design of the hotel and rooms are so special, the guests it seems are less so.

Came for a business trip and made it longer with my husband . Found the rooms stunning and the hotel was gorgeous in a great beachfront location. The downside was the staff they were unfriendly inattentive and basically couldn’t careless . This is why I wouldn’t stay here again.

Came to Barcelona for special weekend for our anniversary. Prior to our stay my husband emailed the hotel to inform them it’s our anniversary so if any upgrades or special surprises can b done for me. When we arrived at the hotel, we checked into our room and nothing was done, no mention of our anniversary. Our room had a terrible view and was not fully equipped with everyday amenities as well. We ordered room service at night and the service was terrible, they bought the food with no cutlery and when I asked for cutlery it took over 30 mins and the food went cold. Whenever we would ask for any room service it took ages for them to come. They apologised for the service with free buffet breakfast on one of our mornings. We appreciated this but still disappointed with the lack of empathy and hospitality. Before coming I read good reviews about this hotel and heard it’s the best to stay in Barcelona. Apart from the location nothing else is 5 star.
