W Barcelona

The W in Barcelona is on a ideal spot. Great views of the beach, the food is delicious, bar and room service was great. What needs attention is check in. I arrived with an admittedly large party and was told check in would happen between 3-5 pm. I shared I had tickets to a flamenco show and really needed a shower. I was told too bad, we won’t make any promises. I then asked the young woman at the counter to upload my Bonvoy # and she said she had. She hadn’t, I called Marriott to check. At 5 I went back up to the desk and asked about my room. It still wasn’t ready and the young woman said “it is the fault of your company”. I didn’t really care about fault, I cared about getting cleaned up after a long day. A young man intervened and offered me the spa but my luggage couldn’t be found, and when i asked the hair stylist if i could borrow a hairbrush he told me “no, I am using it right now’. Apparently there is only 1 in the whole spa. I finally received a text l, while at the flamenco show at 7pm that my room was ready. I also asked for mobile key…that didn’t happen either . The rest of the time was great. Just the young woman at check in was having a bad day and everyone she spoke to had to pay for it

Everything was perfect. I spent a lovely time here with my family.

Had booked the top tier premium suite (EWOW 3 Bedroom Suite) for the Formula 1 Grand Prix weekend in Barcelona (June 2026). The hotel took full payment for the reservation at the time of booking, months ago. The hotel notified me on May 28, 2026, 14 days ahead of arrival, that due to delays in construction, the room was not available -- and would not be until July 2026. They offered to re-book me in a non-premium room. I imagine the hotel knew about this delay well in advance. It is extremely unprofessional to do this to any guest, much less one booking the best room type on property, 2 weeks ahead of one of the busiest weekends in Barcelona. Of course, it is now too late to book any 4- or 5-star suite accommodations in all of Barcelona -- a fact I assume the hotel was counting on, to lock in guests. I also have not received a refund for the full pre-payment that the hotel took -- much less any indication that they will pay interest for the months that they held onto my money for a reservation they are not honoring. To all future guests, especially those booking premium suites: beware of the W Barcelona, lest you face similar treatment at their hands.

Excellent property with consistently strong service throughout. A special mention to Ricardo manager at the Fire, Oho, Federico manager at the Beach Club, and Alejandro from the F&B team, as well as Alessandro at the Front Desk, who all made the experience stand out with their professionalism and attentiveness.

Our time at the W Hotel was wonderful. The service here is top-notch. Anastasia made the check-in process effortless and gave us a wonderful welcome. We were also so impressed by Raseem, who took amazing care of our room throughout our stay. Exceptional hospitality all around—highly recommended!
