W Barcelona

I am writing this review to bring light to a deeply frustrating and discriminatory experience I had at the entrance of the rooftop event at W Barcelona. When I arrived, I was stopped by a host who rudely informed me that I could not enter wearing flip-flops due to the dress code. I respected the venue’s policy, left, and went out of my way to change into a pair of heels. However, once I was admitted upstairs, I was shocked to see that a large number of guests were wearing flip-flops and sneakers throughout the venue. The most concerning part was the clear pattern: every single guest wearing casual footwear was white. As a Black woman, I was singled out, spoken to disrespectfully, and forced to adhere to a strict policy that was completely ignored for non-Black guests. This selective enforcement of rules based on race is completely unacceptable, especially for a prominent global luxury brand. Standing at the door enforcing rules on Black patrons while turning a blind eye to white patrons doing the exact same thing is blatant discrimination. Management needs to address the behavior of their door staff immediately and ensure that all guests are treated with equal respect and fairness regardless of their skin color. I expect better from W Barcelona and will be escalating this experience to Marriott corporate.

My experience end at the w Barcelone and I would like to sincerely thank you for the wonderful experience during my stay. First of all, a big thank you for your professionalism, efficiency, and constant attention to detail. Everything was handled smoothly from the beginning, starting with the reservation to the quick check-in and, of course, the amazing room with one of the best views of Barcelona. I would also like to personally highlight the fantastic team: ● Marina – Concierge: simply top 👍, very professional and attentive to details and handle everything and she make my stay memorable. ● Catalina – W Insider: extremely helpful and always available.she find solutions to everything. ● Tony Marco rico & Adrian – Pool team: excellent service and great attitude. ● The beach team: absolutely fantastic and very welcoming. ● Christopher – Night Operations Manager: very attentive and truly committed to taking care of every detail. ● Style team for their attention to details ● The breakfast team in both restaurant were amazing and professional . The food was excellent even for lunch at Fire and Salt . The entire team really reflects the W spirit, with a great sense of style and attention to even the smallest details. I would also like to mention that this stay was made even more special as it coincided with my daughter Yusr’s birthday, which was a very meaningful moment for us and the whole team make it special.

Came in on a cruise ship today. We paid extra to stay longer on the ship as our check in for this hotel wasn’t until 3PM. When we 1st arrived our luggage was handled right away from the taxi by friendly staff. Front desk availability was open & we walked right up to Natalia. She is AAAAMAZING!!! She welcomed us with Spanish champagne & treated us as if we were VIP. (We are just a normal couple excited to be in Spain). This whole process has been unbelievably wonderful & we are so grateful when we meet people who genuinely enjoy what they do - helping their customers. Thank you W!!!

My experience is good and Mr. Clipton even made better

WOW!! This place has the most stunning view of any hotel I have ever stayed at. It is simply an icon and you MUST stay here when visiting Barcelona. The W brand has historically been more of a party brand, however this hotel is managed to keep the fun vibe while moving away from the crazy party and into the refined luxury space, increasing their appeal across many demographics. Check-in was busy, but staff did their best to make sure everyone was attended to. We got to the property early, and were offered luggage storage service and free drinks at the lobby bar while we waited. A classy touch. The room itself was gorgeous. We got the Cozy room, which despite the name was still very spacious with a comfortable King Bed, and absolutely gorgeous view of Barceloneta Beach and the Mediterranean. The bed faces the Sea and you can control the blinds digitally from your bedside, you can fall asleep to the city view and wake up to the sea view. Stunning!! That alone is worth the stay. Rooms are quiet, comfortable, spacious. We got a great sleep. They have a beach club, but we took advantage of the pool deck and really enjoyed our time. DJ was playing and they have a large poolside menu. Great vibe. As this hotel is right on the beach, it was super easy to walk to the beach, walk down the boardwalk to Barceloneta and take in the local vibe. There is a little ferry you can take across the harbour to the start of the Gothic Quarter also, so it's super easy to explore the city from this location. Also...definitely get the breakfast!! The buffet was huge and delicious. I'm still thinking about it! This is the kind of property that stays with you long after you leave. I will definitely be back and cannot recommend it enough.
