If you are planning a trip to Barcelona, do yourself a huge favor and learn from my mistake - book your entire stay at the W! We had originally booked a hotel right in the city centre, but we were wanting a relaxing day by the beach. We decided to treat ourselves to a day pass at the W Barcelona, and honestly…I am absolutely gutted we didn't just stay here the whole time. It was an absolute dream from start to finish. From the second we walked in, the vibes were immaculate. Every single member of the team we met was outstanding, but a massive, heartfelt shoutout goes to Michaela and Nicholas. They truly went above and beyond to make sure our day was absolutely perfect. We ended up booking one of their Balinese beds for €300 for the day. That amount is credited right back to you to spend on food and drinks while you lounge. We honestly thought we’d blow through that budget easily, but the menu prices were actually so reasonable that we didn't get anywhere near it! It definitely makes for a pricier beach day, but for the luxury, the service, and the experience, worth every single cent. And compared to other options nearby, the price is reasonable. We had the most brilliant, relaxing day. Next time we are in Barcelona, there is zero doubt in my mind—we are checking into the W for the whole trip! 🌊🍹🥂

We just returned from celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary at the W Barcelona, and it was nothing short of unbelievable. The newly renovated hotel is stunning, but it's the people who truly made this trip unforgettable. Lara from the Elite team took incredible care of us at check-in — as Lifetime Platinum Elite members, she secured us a beautiful suite that truly made our entire stay! Raquel from the concierge team went above and beyond at every turn to make sure our stay was perfect. At the pool, Renee surprised us with champagne to help us celebrate, while Hector kept us well taken care of with food and drinks throughout the day. What stood out most was how genuine everyone was. This wasn't scripted hospitality — you could feel that the staff truly wanted us to feel celebrated, and they succeeded completely! Combine that level of service with the gorgeous renovated property, and you have a hotel experience that's simply unbeatable. Thank you to Raquel, Renee, Hector, and Lara for making our 40th anniversary one we'll never forget. We'll absolutely be back!

One of the most impressive hotels in Barcelona, with an unbeatable beachfront location. It’s a wonderful place to relax, enjoy the sunshine, and take a stroll along the waterfront. While the beach can be very crowded and isn’t the cleanest for swimming, the views are spectacular. The hotel is somewhat removed from the city center, so you’ll likely need to take a taxi to get around, especially during the summer heat. The ride to downtown takes about 20 minutes. The rooms are beautiful and offer fantastic views. If possible, avoid rooms on the 6th floor or lower, as they can be quite noisy due to music from the bar, which may continue until around 1:00 a.m and the eco from the lobby.

This hotel has a beautiful setup and view but it’s very remote from city center. More importantly, it has the rudest staff I have ever seen. They have no interest in serving you, which begs the question why they work doing what they do. They claimed to be full with hotel guests, turning away visitors at several bars inside, but were empty. Apparently no money is better than non-guest money.

The W in Barcelona is on a ideal spot. Great views of the beach, the food is delicious, bar and room service was great. What needs attention is check in. I arrived with an admittedly large party and was told check in would happen between 3-5 pm. I shared I had tickets to a flamenco show and really needed a shower. I was told too bad, we won’t make any promises. I then asked the young woman at the counter to upload my Bonvoy # and she said she had. She hadn’t, I called Marriott to check. At 5 I went back up to the desk and asked about my room. It still wasn’t ready and the young woman said “it is the fault of your company”. I didn’t really care about fault, I cared about getting cleaned up after a long day. A young man intervened and offered me the spa but my luggage couldn’t be found, and when i asked the hair stylist if i could borrow a hairbrush he told me “no, I am using it right now’. Apparently there is only 1 in the whole spa. I finally received a text l, while at the flamenco show at 7pm that my room was ready. I also asked for mobile key…that didn’t happen either . The rest of the time was great. Just the young woman at check in was having a bad day and everyone she spoke to had to pay for it
