I have no words to describe how bad my experience at the W Hotel was and how disappointed I am. Went there for lunch one afternoon... we initially sat down at the pool restaurant but no one was there to take us to a table so we walked around and saw an empty space that was absolutely disgusting, the tables/chair hadn't been clean, food was on the floor etc. We sat down anyway asked them to clean it for us and it literally took them 30 minutes to come and clean the table, once they finally came they did such a poor job - the table was still dirty & the waiters kept on giving us attitude. We were so disgusted we decided to switch location and go to the upper restaurant. The service there was even worst and bare in mind the restaurant was EMPTY - the staff was so distracted, the food was honestly average and they refused to bring me a glass of water because they apparently had "no glasses of water". If I'm ordering cocktails and food, I am expecting coming for a "luxury hotel" to be served a glass of water if I need it. Once we were done with food we decided to give it another chance and try the bar upstairs. The girl refused to let us in & was extremely rude about it. At this point we weren't even upset anymore and were really happy to leave this place. I could honestly go on with a lot more negative details of this experience but it is not even worth it. It was just awful & I will not come back; neither will I recommend this place to anyone.

When I walked in to my room and saw the view, I instantly got over the fact that this place is in a slightly remote location. Gorgeous room and outstanding view over the beach and back to the city of Barcelona. I was there for a conference, so didn't get to explore the area very much - but there are definitely restaurants within walking distance, and it is easy enough to walk in to town or taxi - so the location isn't really an issue. Fantastic breakfast, awesome decor - a wonderful treat to be there.

My husband and I stayed at W Hotel for two nights whilst visiting Barcelona for a concert. We were travelling with another couple. Our booking was made in conjunction with our flights booking with BA and both rooms were booked as identical, same room, same price. We arrived at W early in the day at around 10,30am. Whilst rooms were not available our bags were labelled and stored until our room was ready. We were politely offered the use of the breakfast facilities despite not having formally checked in. Breakfast in W is a very relaxed activity with excellent staff, very polite, attentive and discreet. The hotel did advise that they would call as soon as rooms were ready so we headed off into the city. However none of us received that call. We returned after three and our rooms were available. Strangely we had two very different types of rooms. One with a shower , one with a bath. Not sure why when we booked two the same. Rooms ok, a few dings on the plaster work, shelf by the sink decidedly wobbly and carpet not as clean as it could be. The views, well they are to die for, the bells and whistles with lighting, motor driven curtains etc all fantastic. A real down side is the lack of products for tea and coffee making. Only two small milks , not enough for twenty four hours. Having read the reviews was not going to request some and be charged €5!! We did take a trip to the bar at the top but not a particularly classy establishment . Just felt full of people posing and very very noisy. Defiantly a place for “pretty “ people to be seen but somewhat light on good old fashioned customer service. Glad to say we stayed but won’t be back again. See my next review for The Wittmore. This will be my next choice of hotel for Barcelona.

I had a great experience in W Barcelona. My partner and me enjoyed being there. To be honest, I read some of the negative reviews before my visit and was little bit worried. A lot of people complain about things that I have never experienced in W Barcelona. For instance, they mentioned that no body is there to help you with your luggage when you enter the hotel. However, several doormen were there. The staff were very pleasant and nice. They meet you with smile. I stayed there for four nights in cool corner suite with my partner from November 13th to 17 th. Design of the room was modern and special. The view is amazing especially during sunset and sunrise. I used the gym during my stay. It was spacious, well equipped and with amazing beach view. It was totally lovely and memorable experience.
