Spent 3D2N here and I have to say this is the best resort I have stayed at so far; tops in terms of service. Bearing in mind, I have stayed at Marriott and other similar renowned resorts. Pros: 1. Quick and Exceptional service We celebrated our 18th anniversary and they sent a cake and a group of staff to serenade with a song. When our Son took ill, they sent porridge etc and offered to take us to a doc. They also sent breakfast the following day so we could stay and rest in the villa. Special shout out to Windi who has been Super attentive to our needs. Thanks to the team who supported her to make this an unforgettable stay. Contact prior booking was great too. 2. Great ambience and food Great place to chill within villa with private pool and also you can play with Wii and rent DVDs. They also have great food at restaurants and their bar. We had ours at the Tadds and Pantai. Had to give Tiigo a miss as our Son got ill but their pool bar looks great. In villa bbq was awesome with private service. They were late but made it up with free drinks and desserts although we did let them know it was okay. Highly recommended. Did not know in villa steamboat was also available, will try that the next time. 3. Villa Huge. Clean and tidy. You can also cook there (minimal) but we did not as plenty of great food options there. Ask for dishwashing liquid and sponge. Cons 1. mosquitos. Bring plenty of insect repellent as you will need it even in the room. However I am not sure if this is Montigo location or other resorts and hotels also have this issue. 2. Not as many activities as other resorts but great place to chill if that's your intent. We will be back. I still need to try the massage and Tiigo bar :) thanks again to the great and exceptional service to the Montigo team

This was the second time I had stayed at this resort. The first thing I noticed was the stench of sewerage in the bathroom which could not be fixed. We had to put up with this for 6 days. We had no water and rang reception who told us some would be sent down straight away (tap water can not be drunk here) after three phone calls and an hour later no water. We went out and purchased water in town, an hours drive away. Water turned up approx 6 hours later with the manager who took offence that on the last phone call, an hour after the first, we were upset. I told him we had purchased water as we did not trust the resort to provide clean drinking water. He tried to bribe me with free meals. I told him nothing could fix my disappointment with the place and he could not buy me off. Another problem was ordering buggy's to pick us up. We would be told one would arrive in 15 minutes each time we rang for one. I would have walked but my wife is heavily pregnant. Every time it took approx 30 minutes and at least 3 phone calls to get a buggy to drive us up the very steep hill. Room service was intermittent and on two of the days we were there we had no towels in the bathroom. The food in the restaurant is very ordinary and mostly cold. The staff were friendly but management at this resort has no idea how to run a resort. There is no beach to speak off and mostly the tide was out during the day. The water is filthy as it is on the main shipping routes of Singapore. My advice is to go elsewhere. This is not a good resort.

We spend two nights in this resort in June. It all started well…..short 35 min ferry ride from Singapore to Nongsa ferry terminal, swift customs check and quick 10 minute transfer by resort shuttle to resort. This is where the hassle started….first of all during check-in I was requested to provide my credit card and to complete credit card form (as they do not accept debit cards), despite the fact that they had already charged the full cost of our stay to my debit card). The guy at reception promised that the amount charged to my debit card would be returned on my bank account within few working days. The guy asked us what times we wanted the house keeping to come along (9.00 and 19.00pm) and he mentioned that our villa was available within 1 hour. They arranged buggy to bring us to the restaurant for lunch…..we had a nice lunch along the pool and after 1,5 hours we asked the staff to check if our villa was ready. We were told it would take another 2 hours before we could move into the villa. We did not accept this and after 20 min we were information that our villa was ready and they would arrange a buggy to bring us to the villa. After 30 min waiting and no buggy we decided to find the villa ourselves. Arriving there, the door was closed, our luggage was not there. We asked one of the staff members, who passed by, to open the door. We were surprised to see that luggage from previous guest was still there. We tried to phone reception, but phone in villa did not work. So, we decided to walk to reception to get our luggage. Staff at reception did not apologies. Settling in the villa, we noticed that floors were not clean (hairs everywhere) and villa and pool were not well maintained….tiles missing in the pool, cupboard doors not properly closing, phones not working. Not what you expect from 5 star resort. In evening we had dinner in the restaurant and we ordered fish and chips for the kids. We had to wait for more than an hour, for which the staff apologized. The restaurant was just half full. We feel that there is too little coordination and staff can use some more training. When they served the food……the fish was overloaded with black pepper making it very spicy…..not what we expected from kids menu. To make up for this, they gave the kids free ice cream. When we returned to the villa we noticed that house-keeping did not come along. Breakfast buffet next morning was OK (however no fresh juices, except water melon). Back in the villa around 10.00am, we noticed that housekeeping did not come along. It was only after two calls in the morning and in the afternoon, that they came along, around 15pm. In the late afternoon, we noticed that curtains in one of the bedrooms were hanging loose (after housie keeping), so curtains could not be properly closed. We called reception and they promised that it was going to be fixed ASAP. After dinner, we noticed that it was still not fixed. We called again, and finally around 20pm they came along and fixed it. Last but not least, during check-out they charged me for the restaurant bill and the stay on my credit card and again they promised that the amount charged on my debit card would be returned on my bank account within few working days. 1,5 weeks later, I still haven’t received the money. Bottom line: this resort is very overprized (800 euro for 2 nights for 4 persons), not well maintained, horrible service, so we don’t recommend this. Please don’t go…….

I booked a 2 bedroom villa for 5 adults and 2 babies and we were pleasantly surprised to find out that we had been upgraded to the spa villa upon arrival. I wasnt expecting much to be honest- just wanted a quick family getaway but i must say this--- the service was exceptional, especially from front desk staff, Keith. He greeted us upon arrival and ensured that my check in process was smooth. We had arrived early and check in was only at 3PM. But Keith had housekeeping prepare our villa in record time and we were brought to our villa before 2PM. Grateful for the help and care shown to me and my family. Keith also checked in on us several times to see if we needed help with dinner reservations and whether the villa was lacking in anyway. I would make my requests and Keith followed up promptly on each one of them. I really appreciated the effort and kindness he showered upon us and he's such a gem. The resort is prettier than i expected and the staff, including the restaurant staff at Tadd's and the buggy drivers, like Richie and Desbinar were so nice. Super friendly and accommodating. Keith and the service at Montigo really made a difference to our stay. Check out was smooth too and the transport back to the ferry terminal was efficient and painless. My trip at Montigo Resorts have been nothing short of amazing. The service was great, the prices were cheap and the room was amazing. Despite only having 2 pax, we decided to book a villa and it was one of the best decisions ever. There was a private pool which was well kept and spacious, certainly one of the best parts of the villa, as well as the amazing seaview from our villa. We awoke to a beautiful sunrise over the horizon as the master bedroom was facing the sea, as well as a beautiful sunset. The staff was also very helpful and attentive. We actually forgot to bring out our hotel key and they resolved that issue in a minute! The buggy service was also quick and reliable. Montigo Resorts Nongsa also boast two great restaraunts - one that is Chinese / Seafood and another which is more of a local or western cuisine. Prices were great and not something you expect to pay when you're at such a hotel. Room services prices were great as well. We paid about 200 SGD overall for about 3 meals with a lot of drinks and room service, definitely worth it! I'd recommend the Nasi Beehoon at Tadd's and the Fried Rice at the Chinese Seafood Restaraunt. Overall a great experience!
