Reviews for CHAO Sanlitun Beijing
This the best design hotel in Beijing. It’s the best not even one of the best!! All the details are excellent! The service is perfect! It’s amazing to see a group of very young people run such a brilliant hotel in such successful way! Will come back for sure!
It's a very pleasant staying in CHAO as below several touch points. - Arrival - Fast check-in procedure and be escorted to the guest room by the receptionist or bellboy who was very attentive to take my luggage and introduce the hotel facilities. Btw, the floral arrangement is effortless chic in the public area & dining area. - Guest Room - Highlight my favorites in the room, TOP 3 are Chic Couch, Collatteral, and Bar. It's my dream couch with grey blanket and side mini-table, definitely the most comfortable zone in the room with airplay BGM via LETV and a glass of wine!!! In room directory is very interesting to read, fun and creative, even the serial no. of amenity with the super inspiring quotes on top. Btw, the bathroom amenity is ACCA KAPPA that I adore. Bar design is the uniqueness in the room with the local snacks and signature wine. It would be great to add some more alcohol beverage in the mini bar so that guest could craft his own cocktail in room. - Drinking & Dining - I tried the lunch & dinner in living room. The food was tasty and served in a friendly way. The staffs are quite nice with always smiling and take it seriously for the gluten free foodie. Breakfast is effortless dainty in the semi-buffet way. The tray selection of 9kinds of cold dish is impressive that also avoid the food waste. As a dessert lover, I almost tried the whole pastry selection. My favorites are raspberry mouse and lemon tart that sweeten my day!!! The pity was that my stomach had no space for the afternoon tea set. THEODOR tea & Veuve Clicquot Rose that I would love to tick them off from my wishlist next time. Btw, I tried the Beijing Da Lu Noodle from the room service menu, it was delicious and the concept of "in room picnic" sounds intersting and joyful. - Service - Recognize the service from Zi Ran (seems like that..sorry I didn't take the name but the guy with smart looking and quick action) And the staffs in drawing room are very nice to care the guest and meet different demand. Staff uniform is very cool in black shirt & trousers and white warrior shoes. The golden bee pin is eye-catching...yep..let it "bee" your CHAO (nest). - Social Space - It's hard to define it's a hotel, it's rather a community than a hotel. Here is incl. clubhouse, art center, and cinema club etc. To define is to limit your imagination. I think everything is breaking its boundaries here. Glass House is the Best of the Best in my view where you can enjoy all kinds of social event. Even stay here alone, you are not lonely, as you're with the light. ...it's kind of the memo of the staying, where we definitely meet again soon. As the more you stay, the more fun will find you. #ilovechao#

Location is wonderful. Everything in the space is quite beautiful and striking. Great events during stay. However, lacks 5 star service by leaps and bounds. No privacy during check-in, no communication from front desk staff on hotel amenities and layout, phones in room were a bust, odd room lay-out, awkwardspafe design although rooms were large (giant empty wall with no furniture or function), bed was delightful, odd angles, one dark corner near bed with nothing but empty space and memories of monsters from childhood, breakfast had amazing presentation and the service was great but the food was bland, pool is really a glorified large tub meant more as decoration than something to swim in, gym had no attendee or help, greatest restrooms maybe in all the world (Japanese toilets - indiv9dual stalls - glorious), bar is spacious, lovely and good drinks, tons of great public spaces, colors throughout were delightful, bell boys were helpful and kind. Love the idea they are going for at this hotel, but they still need better execution.

The room was very clean and comfortable. Hotel employees are very young and work hard. Breakfast is nice. There are a food super market, a bank and several kinds of restaurants around. If you want to take a subway it takes about 10 minites on foot. The hotel is very new so the taxi driver didn't know. It took time to arrive. Anyway, if I visit Beijing again, I'd like to stay this hotel.
Everything about CHAO was well designed, from the soothing music to the sleek bedroom. The breakfast that was included was delicious and staff was friendly and helpful. The area was a bit far from toursit area, but neighborhood was cool and safe. I would definitly stay if I return to Beijing.
