Enjoyed our family stay at this hotel. Great design and decor throughout. Service was fantastic and most staff spoke a little bit of English. Very nice breakfast options included in a peaceful restaurant area each morning. Very much a tranquil oasis. The focus on design did bring out a few quirks that weren’t ideal but very small in the whole scheme of things.

I stayed at CHAO for my family trip. The overall experience was just stunning! Family style staff, great public space design, cozy & minimalist room, niche brand amenities, amazing lobby lounge/restaurant. The most impressive thing is their "in house activities": feel like home with different cultural & culinary programs!!! Wish I could come back soon! Bravo CHAO!!!

How does one begin to describe a hotel experience so unique it resembles no other? I would be remiss and do a disservice if I did not give it a go for Chao Hotel. From the moment you enter (if you've found the front entrance, you're already thinking am I dreaming), you realize you're in for an awakening. The architecture is stunning, the lighting is captivating and the welcome matches the ambience. Look right or you'll miss the reception. Once checked in, you embark upon a sensory journey as you explore the spaces from exhibits to bar/restaurant to the outdoor terrace, to the pool, the living room, the library. To a person, the service is exemplary. There is the sense that you are home, that your pleasure and needs are the staff's only concern and that this place was designed for you personally. The food is exceptional, varied and of the highest quality. Service is a dream. Breakfast is served until 11:00 which is quite civilized and the attention by the staff in the library/breakfast room is so attentive, you make excuses to linger or take work there on purpose just to feel special. After my first few days, Only had my latté in the making as I sat down and the waitstaff checked to be sure I didn't want to change my preferred order before putting in the request. The restaurant was the same as Fred and his workmates handled every possible request, had me taste a few of his unique concoctions and seemed genuinely concerned that my food orders were prepared to my liking, correcting any request big or small expeditiously and always with a smile. It is obvious William's influence lends a style and level of service rarely seen even in some of China's most sophisticated hotels; it permeates the entire operation. Chapeau, William. And of course, I must mention Maurice whose presence throughout my stay would be reason enough to want to experience Chao. He is the consummate host; attentive, gracious, always willing to address a concern and unfailingly determined in his efforts to make your stay exceptional. If he's away, Amber will professionally handle any and all requests efficiently and with dispatch. When business or pleasure finds you next in Beijing, spoil yourself and book the Chao Hotel in Sanlitun. The surrounding area is trendy and alive, it's not far from important sights and tourist attractions but most of all, you'll be treated royally,...and that doesn't happen often enough for most of us.

I appreciate this opportunity from CHAO to invite me to write my feedback of my stay at this amazing hotel. I was travelling with my family and one of my friends recommended us to stay at CHAO in Beijing. My first impression of CHAO was - this is such a modern, boutique and designer hotel because I couldn't imagine another hotel to dedicate a huge amount of space to building a staircase and it connects to the ball room! For a second I almost wanted to plan my second wedding here for me and my wife haha.. This hotel not only provides high quality service but is also meticulous about details and definitely presented as a high end hotel in every aspect. The bar was cool, especially the bartender Fred - he makes super nice cocktails and also very chatty which made our stay more enjoyable. Another young man, Eddie - I would like to express my gratitude to him especially. We had great conversations about his experience back in NZ when he was studying which connected us together and definitely opened the doors for me - rock man! Whilst staying at CHAO, Eddie also looked after us like second to none, provided us with the suggestions of high quality breakfast to local food and bars... he was a very prestigious person who knew how to live and enjoy life. My only recommendation would be to consider upgrading the lights in hotel rooms, there are too many buttons and it wasn't easy to find. Overall, my experience at CHAO was spectacular and I would definitely choose CHAO again if I ever travel back to Beijing. The hotel service and quality is really second to none.
